To make gaming as accessible to people of all ages and all abilities, Nintendo wanted to create a controller that was as inviting as it was sophisticated. The outcome is the Wii Remote. Nintendo fused the familiarity of a remote control with the sophistication of motion-sensing technology to come up with an input device for the ages!

Sporting the size of a traditional remote control, the wireless Wii Remote is a multifunctional device that is limited only by the game designer's imagination. In a tennis game, it serves as your racket you swing with your arm. In a driving game, it serves as your steering wheel. For first-person shooters, the Wii Remote acts as your weapon that you point at an enemy. The list of potential uses goes on and on.

In addition to its pointing and motion-sensing abilities, the Wii Remote also includes a speaker, rumble feature and expansion port for additional input devices, such as the Nunchuk.

The Classic Controller allows you to play classic games available through the Wii Shop Channel with ease. This controller is sold separately.

5 out of 5 eggsLAST CHANCE!

Pros: this was the last place i could find this deal out there... and considering nintendo has decided to have so many different versions of the wii this was one that shouldnt have been missed...

this version of the wii doubles as a gamecube and with a nunchuck, steering wheel, and mario kart to boot i easily saved 50 dollars in accessories... and not to mention i can dust off my old GC games and give them a second round!

Cons: if there was any cons to be had its that i cannot think of any! ha!

4 out of 5 eggsIt's a console.

Pros: It's much more affordable than an Xbox360 or a PS3, carries exclusive Nintendo games, offers something different to grab than your traditional game controller.

Cons: The graphics are terrible- even worse than Gamecube IMO. This also shouldn't be your primary gaming system (I'd recommend to play graphics intensive first person shooters on a PC or Xbox360 or PS3).

Other Thoughts: The low price was the main selling point for me. My Xbox360 RRoD after 3 years of use and I lost all faith in the platform. Similarly, the massive hack with PS3 as well as the high prices of both systems drove me to get a Wii.

As I keep saying, for the price, I do not regret it. But I'll need to continue gaming on my PC to enjoy my graphics intensive first person shooters such as Crysis 2 and the upcoming Battlefield 3.

Nintendo will be releasing a Wii U next year with HD graphics. Until next year, I had to get my hands on SOME console. Spent about $300 on a console, 6 games, and an extra remote controller pair by buying a new console and used games. Great deal.

4 out of 5 eggsFun console for a PC gamer.

Pros: I'm a PC gamer almost exclusively. Haven't owned or even considered owning a console since my N64 around 1998, thought I have played on most of the consoles since then. They just didn't do it for me like the PC does. The Wii is a different animal though. I just can't seem to put it down. Using motion and pointing is such a unique way to play compared to regular controllers or mouse+keyboard.

Cons: Capable of 480p video but only comes with a composite cable that makes the image look awful? Really? Why would Nintendo undermine the Wii's video right out of the box like that? This is not like some devices where you can just slap one of your spare component cables in it and off you go. It uses a proprietary connector so it's not like you'll just have one lying around. Plus, it's a $14 cable for a decent one (Item N82E16878112004). There's no reason it couldn't have come with both types of connections just in case some peoples' TVs don't have component inputs.

Yes, I did consider it enough of an oversight to take an egg off based on the drastic improvement of adding a proper component cable that I had to buy separately. Your opinion may vary.

Other Thoughts: I'm not gonna lie... I bought this JUST so I can play Zelda: Twilight Princess (emulators are flaky). I was bit by the nostalgia bug when I fired up Zelda: Ocarina of Time on the old N64 after all these years and I just had to keep going on to Twilight Princess. I'm a dork. I know.

4 out of 5 eggsAt this price it's time for me to jump aboard

Pros: Nintendo franchised software...retro versions of classic video games played in my youth. For a different more active experience with video games. The system has been out for awhile now and many software titles can be bought at a very reasonable price used and some can also be purchased for $20 new.

Cons: No HD support, not a huge support from third party software developers. Nintendo as just announced a new game console so, support for this console will be slow coming especially from Nintendo who will be developing for 2 new platforms now. Project Cafe' and 3DS. For the current games there is to much shovel ware that has been developed.

Other Thoughts: Motion gaming is just plain FUN to play. For $150 is just too hard for me not to be drawn into this system. If you have spare room for guests this system will work great for streaming netflix as well.
