Super Mario 3D World

Four Players + Three Dimensions = Super Mario Fun

Super Mario 3D World

For the first time ever, Nintendo has created a four-player Mario game set in a 3D world. The game, developed by the same team that created Super Mario 3D Land for Nintendo 3DS and the Super Mario Galaxy games for Wii, lets up to four players play as Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach and Toad. Each character has his or her own unique characteristics, and people can play cooperatively or competitively. The new cat transformation turns characters into adorable felines that can scratch enemies and even scamper up the flagpole at the end of levels. Clear warp pipes add some new puzzle elements to game play.

  • Each character has unique abilities and play styles. For example, Princess Peach glides over gaps, while Luigi has his trademark extra-high jump.
  • The new cat transformation allows players to run on all fours, pounce on enemies, attack in midair or use their claws to scamper up walls and goal poles.
  • Explore colorful 3D environments filled with obstacles and contraptions like transparent pipes and vertical conveyor belts, which add new puzzle elements.
  • Use the Wii U GamePad controller’s touch screen to search for hidden blocks and freeze enemies in place.

1 out of 5 eggsIts horrible

Pros: you can resell it for a bit of what you payed to get it.

Cons: super short
very boring
nowhere near as good as other 3D mario games like super mario galaxy
makes Mario look bad
makes super mario galaxy look bad
Rosalina is a playable charater
you have to rescue a bunch of fairy people instead of peach
everyone shares lifes
cat mario...i hate cats...WHY CATS?!?1?!
when bowser uses the cat power up its is more hideous then the most hideous thing you could possible think of

Other Thoughts: A waste of 60 dollars i would reccomend this to no one not even a collector. Nintendo made a massive fail this is very easy and not fun at all. I hate this game with a passion and will probaly sell it. If it were not possible to sell it i wouldnt take it for free.

4 out of 5 eggsShould have been 5 player

Pros: Fun multiplayer game for the WiiU. Difficulty is fairly balanced across experience levels. Easy enough for beginners, but enough hidden challenges for the experienced.

Cons: No five player. The fact that there are 5 characters and the WiiU supports 5 players, but this game doesn't is an incredible oversight by Nintendo. While there are hidden challenges to hunt down, don't expect this game to test your limits. [SPOILER] Also, unlocking all the content is only completed by 100%ing every level with all 5 character, so invite some friends over or prepare to be bored.

Other Thoughts: If you already own a WiiU, this will be a great addition to your library. If you don't own a WiiU, wait until more interesting games come out before buying one.

5 out of 5 eggsMust-Have Title for Wii U

Pros: Extremely Fun
Easy to learn
Cute, fun, graphics that are also pretty good
Great to play with the family

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: This is a pretty fantastic game; the best I've played on Wii U and honestly the best mario game I've played (and I've played them since the NES days).

5 out of 5 eggsSuper Mario 3D World

Pros: Absolutely fun to play. Super sharp graphics and animations running smoothly on 1080P. Hi resolution textures are impressive on a console that has the reputation of being mediocre compared to next gen. But setting the eye candy aside, it is a great game for all ages and probably the best current game of any console. My favorite thing about the SM3DW is the exploration. Each level has lots of goodies to discover and collect. The 4 characters bring back great memories of SMB2, same strengths and weaknesses. Multiplayer is very well balanced and works well. Single player is just as fun. Any controller can be used.

Cons: 1. Camera feels a little stiff compared to the Galaxy series. In fact I think that SM3DW is on par with the Galaxy games. IMO, all the games are equal in greatness. SM3DW doesn't surpass. 2. The beginning levels and stages are too easy to run through. But hunting for the stars is required to move forward. Exploration is the length and challenge. I imagine the end stages will be more difficult.

Other Thoughts: I spent the weekend playing with my young nephews and SM3DW was a feast of fun. I've been a fan since the beginning and will continue to play Mario games and support Nintendo for as long as they make great games.
