Pros: 3 Instruments plus game for 79.99 was an awesome deal I couldn't pass up. Instruments all worked fine out of the box and kids found the game very easy to use

Cons: Rock band guitars are not as good as GTH guitars because the strummer doesn't click. However, it can be worked around

Other Thoughts: If you get a deal on this package you can buy rock band 2 game only and get a ton more songs that work with these instruments.

Cons: Horrible instrument quality. After two days of play the guitar's whammy spring broke, I replaced it with another spring, that spring broke after three days, and now I'm hoping that the spring inside the guitar at the moment will hold up. Five days after purchase, the bass pedal for the drums started cracking, two days later the bass pedal was split in half. Instead of sending the pedal back to EA and getting back another plastic one, I ordered a metal repair plate from an online retailer, I suggest ordering a metal repair plate or a full metal pedal if you plan on buying this.

Other Thoughts: The one or more of the instruments are almost guaranteed to break. Guitar strummer is mushy, feels weird, I miss the Guitar Hero "clicker".

Pros: Great party game. Lots of downloadable content. Peripherals are compatible with the PS2 version of the game.

Cons: Single player campaign mode is lacking. Guitar controller's whammy bar spring broke after 2 days of use, easily replaced with an extra spring for some spare parts. Game save cannot be copied.

Other Thoughts: Native resolution of 720P.

Pros: Absolutely best game of '07, hands down. Songs are fun, Guitar Controller (when it works as covered below) is my favorite across the series, and the charting of the songs is true to form (as opposed to the over charting in GH3). Downloadable content keeps the game fresh, and contains a surprising number of master tracks. All in all, the best game I've played in years, and probably one that is in my top 25 all time (still doesn't beat FF7 though).

Cons: Guitar controller will break. Period. The first gen ones have a mechanical defect, however, EA goes out of their way to right the situation and ship out a new guitar via free 2-day air.

Pros: Rock band is better than Guitar Hero
in every aspect except the the SINGLE player story mode. Great party game more, fun with other people fantastic selection of download able songs.

Cons: The price is the big thing but the first production run of guitars had a defect and stop working after a couple days.

Other Thoughts: Definitely worth the money and one of my favorite titles of the year.

Pros: the mechanics of the game are the same as guitar hero, with a few new touches here and there. i like the very seamless integration of the customized avatars with the rest of the game's animation, and i love that harmonix has made the song selection expandable. on expert, the drums are actually quite fun if you actually play drums.

Cons: the guitar controller is rubbish. ridiculously hard to press buttons on the fretboard and lack of tactile response on the strum bar make the old guitar hero controller much better. the drums are rubbish.. in my opinion, they should be laid out in a more intuitive snare/toms/cymbal layout. the heads have almost no tension, so there's very little rebound to work with on the one-handed rolls that are sometimes required for expert. the microphone feels cheap. it's hard to monitor yourself with any instrument, so it's INCREDIBLY hard to stay on tempo with complex songs.

Other Thoughts: easy and medium will get boring fast. and when they do, you'll look to hard and expert, and the gap between them is HUGE. ridiculously huge. however, it's still lots of fun for when you have people over; i'm just not sure that justifies the cost.

Pros: Havent gotten bored of the game in over a week... very addicting! I think it is worth the money.

Cons: It is $170. That's alot of scratch just for one game; but I bought it just the same...

Other Thoughts: I hope they keep making games that can utilize the gear that came with this game, seems a waste otherwise.

Pros: Great game for the whole family. My 11 year old can play the drums, switch to guitar/bass and even do vocals (as long as you change the skill level) and be a part of the game with ease, and trust me... he can't sing! Heck, I can't sing!

Cons: At the time of this writing you cannot use the Guitar Hero III guitar with the game on PS3. If the game picks Dead or Alive one more time... I'll go nuts!!

Other Thoughts: It is amazing how hard the drums get!!
