Company B of the 222nd Battalion is where the Army puts all the troublemakers – and its members are largely considered expendable. Private Preston Marlowe has found himself "the new guy" in Bad Company and, along with his squad-mates he's in the middle of war between the US and Russia. Play as Preston his squad fights Russians, Middle East Coalition troops and mercenaries in a fully destructive sandbox world in the pursuit of a fortune in gold bars – and find collectible weapons along the way. The story-driven adventure is light, but the action is intense as you plow through the scenery – and anyone who gets in your way – with assault rifles, anti-tank guns, automatic shotguns, patrol boats, tanks, called-in artillery, golf carts and even a pimped-out attack chopper. Use the destructibility to take out a building hiding a sniper, or create a firing position for yourself. All the while your comrades are cracking wise and planning what they'll do with their share of the loot.

Multiplayer takes the best moments from the single-player mode and lets you run amok in team or free-for-all battles with up to two dozen players and let the debris fly. Choose your class of soldier; assault, recon, support, demolition or specialist – each with their own special weapon or piece of equipment. Attack or defend crates of gold in eight maps or punch an opponent's ticket and capture flags in Conquest mode in four maps with additional maps available by download. Power through buildings in a tank, or stealthily snipe from the woods or simply make it a point to blow everything up. You've got company – bad company.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat game

Pros: It's a bit addicting, even just to hear the conversations between team mates. Solid game play.

Cons: none that come to mind

Other Thoughts: Haven't been able to try online. Of all my games, it's the only one that won't let me go online. Forwarded ports, put my ps3 in to a DMZ, the works. Oh well, I'll try again later. Bad luck, I suppose.

5 out of 5 eggsHidden gem

Pros: This is a great game! Destructible environments, great graphics, open world maps, movie-esque plot, and it actually has funny background dialogue betwen the troops.

Cons: the environments aren't completely destructible. but, hey, nothing's perfect. first map has hidden gold on it, even before you realize that's one of the objectives of the game, so it's near impossible to find it since you're not going far afield to do so.

Other Thoughts: you can jump in and fire small artillery at distant targets (hazy on the horizon) and watch as they hit their targets. you can fire large artillery using a predator-type camera view, and though these look like other game's scripted targeting modes, you can drive through the town you hit just a bit later in the game. Awesome! Can't wait to try multiplayer!

4 out of 5 eggsSolid Game

Pros: Got this game for my grandson and he picked up the controls right away and loved the game play. Enough killing and gore to keep him entertainment.

Cons: As much fun as the game is my grandson (10 years old) breezed thru the single player novice mode in one day. Hopefully, the more experienced modes will be a lot more difficult.

Other Thoughts: Even though newegg advertises the game with free shipping I had to pay shipping because the game "came from another site". Seems another version of bait and switch.

5 out of 5 eggsJust a fun game

Pros: This was some of the best audio that I've heard in a game from all of the weapons and to the Russians yelling as you shoot at them. The graphics were some of the best that I've seen in a game. Nice to finally blow anything up from houses to vehicles for a change unlike other games.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I found it funny as you are in the heat of war and your squad mates argue and goof around the way that they do. This game had one of the best story lines that I've seen in a game so far. Looking forward to the 2nd game.

5 out of 5 eggstight

Pros: For $20...BA game. Single player is sweet. Online is tight. Did I mention $20?

Cons: Not that I can think of

4 out of 5 eggsVery involved online

Pros: Online
90% of of the environment is destructible
sound is amazing
Tanks, choppers, armored transports, Jeeps, artillery placements.

Cons: Online can be a little laggy at times
aiming controls are too twitchy
Empty a clip no kill-get shot a few times you die

Other Thoughts: Despite the cons, the game is great. Most people won't like it because you can't run around and spam and own people with a dominant weapon everybody wants nor can you really camp. There are no perks that give you super powers. It requires skill and careful planning, using cover ( even though you can be shot through cover and explosives and shells will tear up whatever hiding spot you think you have) Figure it like a real war, if you are in an attic and you are sniping from a window, a tank shell, rocket launcher, nade or C4 will blow a hole where your at. You can join a team mate in a tank or chopper and man the guns while he flies.

Overall the single player isn't as bad as what people are saying, but I agree the NPC's on your side are really only good for the comedic banter.

If you want to blow stuff up and fly choppers, drive tanks, boats and transports, and use a great array of guns, then you'll like this.

4 out of 5 eggsBad Company

Pros: The best things in this game are: sound, multiplayer, vehicles, and visuals. It looks great, sounds like an actual battlefield, stable, non-laggy multiplayer (although they should make it more than 24 online), and flying helicopters is always fun.

Cons: Single player is terrible. The worst part of it is the AI. On easy mode, your squad will kill everyone and leave none for you. On medium, they will kill some, but won't go anywhere or chase anyone without you. On hard, they just sit there and do nothing, only follow you without caring about the enemies. Also, there is no offline multiplayer. Other than those two things, this game is a great addition to your PS3 collection.

4 out of 5 eggsBattlefield: Bad Company

Pros: Like everyone else has said, the sound is truly amazing. Game is fairly fast passed. Rarely any time without gun fire or explosions. The radio (preferably the 'Surf' station) is a lot of fun to listen to while you are driving around, terrorizing the landscape. Very easy FPS for anyone to play. Adds a new dimension to the Battlefield series.

Cons: The story line is... unique but fairly bland. The game play is very repetitive. Kill bad guys, blow up something, and find gold. The whole action of shooting is a bit strange for me but this is the first FPS I have played on a console and not on a PC in a few years.

Other Thoughts: I have played BF:1942-BF:2 and those games were bases solely on online play. I played them on PC and enjoyed them very much so. Bad Company is only on PS3 and I can not get the internet for my PS3 as I am using a USB cell phone internet card to use the internet now and it only works on my PC. I have read that online is the main attraction of this game and, sadly, I can not enjoy it. Not a "Must have" unlike other games on the PS3.
