- Other Thoughts: This review is just correcting SuperBig, who obviously doesn't play alot of Madden, and just wants to complain about something he doesn't really seem to care much about.
This Madden game is greatly improved from last years version. The graphics are improved for the PS3, though it's not full 1080p, only a fraction of players have 1080p to begin with. The gameplay is very smooth and solid. There are still some lag issues with animations, but the actual gameplay is perfect. The adaptive difficult, though not perfect, is incredible, and makes the game a challenge at times.
oh yes, before i forget, SUPERBIG - BRETT FAVRE IS IN THE GAME. Though he wasn't on the default roster for the Jets, he is in the game on the NFL greats team; AND if you UPDATE THE GAME, they will put him on the jets for you!
Others are being a bit picky
- Pros: If you enjoyed previous years of Madden football, you'll enjoy this one too. Overall it's a great game. The online feature is the best, pairing you up with an evenly matched person to play against almost instantly. Also great is the auto-learn function of the game, where it adjusts the difficulty level of the game as you play. Previous versions of Madden used to get old fast, because on the All-Pro setting at first it would be challenging but after playing one franchise season I would be a master at the game and could not lose. If I bumped the difficulty up, it was insane and no matter how long I played I could not win. This version constantly adjusts the difficulty level on a sliding scale of four aspects of football: passing offense, running offense, passing defense, and running defense. If you're great at completing passing but are horrible at your running game, the game will make passing more challenging but ease up on your rushing skill level. It's makes game play fun!
- Cons: The animation could be a little better. When watching a replay the players are sometimes noticeably animated and look unrealistic. With the technology in the PS3 they should be able to improve on that. Also, it's a blue-ray player, lets kick this game up to 1080p HD for next season...
- Other Thoughts: I think the other reviewers are not being fair. First off, you can update the roster for the game on an ongoing basis. One update and Brett Farve is on the Jets. If you so desire, (which I certainly do..) Tom Brady will be shown as out for the season in Franchise mode. Sure the graphics could be tweaked a bit, but overall I think this is a great game and I would recommend it to any football fan. I love it.

- Cons: got it off newegg when it was priced at $36. game seems to have alot of glitches, especially at play selection screen.
- Other Thoughts: dont buy it in stores for $59. save the money and go newegg.
Madden 09 is great but not 1080p
- Pros: Madden has reached an ultimate high. Graphics and game play. Commentatory can take a break some times with the repeatative comments but some are hillarious.
- Cons: IT IS NOT 1080P, only 720 even with the hdmi cord.
