Great Launch Title
- Comments: Wipeout Pure is a well rounded racing game. It has spectacular graphics, good control, and a great music selection. While the game won't dazzle you with thousands upon thousands of polygons, it's beautiful coloring and sharp style won't have you worried about the mild blockyness. The analog controller takes a long time to master on this game, and even then I find myself going back to the 4 way. This isn't so bad because the controller actually works really well in conjunction with the side triggers. The music is fantastic. It can totally immerse you in the action.
One of the major drawbacks of this title is the AI of the other drivers and how the game makes up for it. Because the racers are not so bright, the game decides to give them super speed at the start of the match and make you slowly catch up thru the ranks. It would be nice to see AI race cars perform better on tracks that are more suited for them instead of having the same car leading the pack race after race in tournament.
All in all this is a very strong title and one I would recommend even to those who may not be major racing fans.
Decent game for your portable needs
- Pros: Cool game , good music ( most of it ), and provides a nice challenge on the higher difficulty levels.
- Cons: This is more of a con for the psp itself rather than the game but my hands get a bit cramped after a little while of play.
- Other Thoughts: For the psp , we need all the games we can get and this is a good one. I just wish they designed the Psp a bit better to play games like this
