Daxter takes on his missions with the same irreverent humor shown in the trilogy. The levels are packed with gameplay as you can collect Metal Bug gems and precursor orbs along the way, or return after completing the mission to hunt for hidden items. Unlockable mini-games parody the Lord of the Rings, Matrix and other action movies. Vehicles and dream sequence levels also add to the variety.

The game stays true to its trilogy roots with the same level of animation and graphics as seen on the PS2 games in the series with developers having enhanced Daxter's moves to take advantage of his animal nature. Travel in, under and through a cannery, mines, a distillery, forest and other environments where "normal-sized" objects can become obstacles for the small ottsel. The audio has also not been overlooked with impressive sound effects for everything from the electronic flyswatter to the sound of Daxter running in metal air ducts. A multi-player mini-game, Bug Combat, lets you take on an opponent by pitting bugs that you've collected in the course of your game against each other for addictive play.

Cons: it wasnt much of a challenge to beat. i beat in in a few days. Overall an impressive looking PSP game. Cons: Probably fun for all ages, but it was too much of a kiddy game for me. swatting flys and collecting eggs seemed a bit silly, jokes were weak. Pros: this game is the best psp game i have ever seen.. its so addictive you never wanne stop playing this game..and the graphics are awsome and no lag at all! Cons: so far nothing, this game rocks.. The graphics look great, its the first game I have seen that renders in such a way as to mask the highly visible pixels on the high definition psp screen. It looks just like a PS2 game. Easily one of the best PSP games around, I highly recomend if your interested in an amazingly fun old school platformer. Cons: Having said that, this game is slightly juvenile in its humor and the plot veers at times (save jack but first do 5 missions exterminating bugs) but that does not interfere with the fact that this game is just FUN. Other Thoughts: Uncharacteristically newegg did a horrible job shipping, I ordered the game on Thursday and didn't get it until Wednesday the next week. I wish orders received anytime were equally quick, normally newegg is one of the fastest ones around when it comes to shipping and processing...but if you order at the wrong time it takes them a while to get around to shipping it (I did not receive my tracking info until 3 days after I ordered) Did you find this review helpful?
