1 out of 5 eggsNot a great option

Pros: I dunno...Cheap.

Cons: This controller uses a USB dongle to connect to your console. (something i was unaware of when i purchased it.) I returned the first one I bought because of a large dead spot in the center of one of the joysticks. the second one was the same. Though i kept it rather than try to return it again.

Other Thoughts: I think I will stick to licensed hardware even though it is more expensive you know it will have the functionality you want. Like being rechargeable and connecting using the devices built in connectivity.

3 out of 5 eggsWorth a Try

Pros: - Closest to Xbox 360 feel and shape I've tried yet
- Decent triggers
-All buttons feel solid and responsive
- No connection or lag issues
- Probably worth the price if you can get over the cons

Cons: - There are definitely dead zones, and on my unit they are off-center.
- Shoulder buttons feel fine but are set back further than on the 360 controller, making them less comfortable to reach.
- Many reviews I've read (not here) mention an a/b switch on the bottom of the unit that allows you to toggle the shoulder and trigger buttons. I was looking forward to this since games like Uncharted map the main fire button to the R1 instead of R2, and you can't change the layout in the game settings. This revision of the Raven appears to have removed the switch, and I can't find any mention of a way to activate the functionality, which I assume means the option is gone. Newegg doesn't mention this feature in the specs, so I certainly don't blame them. If you are buying the unit for that feature though, don't.

Other Thoughts: I've tried two other 3rd party controllers as well. On the positive side, this is the best Xbox 360 clone I've tried yet. Unfortunately, that's not saying much.

This controller feels very close to the Xbox controller, but the shoulder buttons are slightly harder to reach and it sits in my hands a little differently.

All the buttons seem fine, and while the trigger pull is not quite up to 360 standards, it is much better than the DS3 and the other clones I've tried.

I'm not an FPS person, so I assumed a small dead zone would be acceptable. There are definitely deadzones on the sticks (this seems to vary from unit to unit, based on other reviews), but the biggest issue I have is that the deadzones on this unit are off-center. In other words, the sticks respond faster when I push them right than when I push them left. The inconsistency makes it very difficult to be precise.

Worth a try if you can't stand the DS3, just don't expect it to live up to your 360 controller.

4 out of 5 eggsA nice addition for PS3 owners

Pros: * Offset sticks
* Feels good in my hands (right weight, curvature, material)
* Sixaxis (for games that still require it)
* Smaller than normal face buttons make combos a bit easier
* Triggers feel more comfortable and are easier to use

Cons: * A few dead zones, though very few and very minor
* Indented stick faces take a bit of getting used to

Other Thoughts: This is my third third-party controller, as I'm just not a fan of the regular DualShock 3 because I have difficulty using it. I've used many alternatives and this is by far my favorite, despite a bit of a learning curve regarding smaller buttons. In the end, this is a much better option than the standard PS3 controller, in my own opinion.

I've tested this on nearly every type of game except pure FPS (I'm a PC guy when it comes to those), and I think the Raven responds very well. FPS sniping sections in games like Uncharted 2 played fine even with the smallest stick movement.

First controller would brick every 3-15 minutes of use, but Newegg quickly replaced with a working unit.

Pros: Makes for a good paper weight.

Cons: High probability of defective unit.

Other Thoughts: Returned 1st time, and the replacement didn't work either.

1 out of 5 eggsTERRIBLE

Pros: Rubberized Grip, rubberized trigger, aesthetics...

Cons: Buttons stick, aren't recognized when pushed, recessed making them hard to push, awkwardly laid out triggers and bumpers, and to top it off, the joysticks are NOT sensitive at all... have to practically whip the joysticks around to move the reticle.

Other Thoughts: Don't buy. This item is non-refundable.. found out the hard way. If you are looking for an XBOX style controller for PS3, search for the adapter on google.

1 out of 5 eggsPS3 Controller, NYKO Raven

Pros: Feels great in your hands. Looks nice.

Cons: Joystick has a dead zone so games that require aiming -- in my opinion -- are near unplayable.
