Big hair. Big sound. Big hits. Whip out the Gibson-shaped SG guitar controllers and go back to the 80's with 30 tracks featuring the best guitar solos and passages of the era. And, you're not just rockin' the 80's, as Guitar Hero venues and characters have received the retro treatment as well. Of course, the same interface that made Guitar Hero famous returns without change so if you're already a virtual rock legend, you'll be jamming out the power chords in no time.

Play through six tiers of fret popping action as you can go glam, new wave, punk, hard rock or full head-banging heavy metal. Unleash a "Ballroom Blitz" with Krokus, get "Caught in a Mosh" with Anthrax, or get "Shakin" with Eddie Money. If you played air guitar to these songs when they were new, now you can get a little closer to the action while reliving those memories. If you were too young, now you can find out what all the excitement was about.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I love the song choices and the last song is amazing!!!!!

Cons: I don't like how you have to complete a certain difficulty to unlock guitars and outfits...I unlocked it all but it's not that easy for everyone, especially beginners. But it's still an awesome game

Other Thoughts: AWESOME GAME!!!

4 out of 5 eggs80's Rocks

Pros: There are some choice songs in this collection. I grew up in the 80's love the music. Eventhough same characters they did change the hair styles and clothing to try and match the 80's "feel". Also there are added 80's style tips when loading songs that are quite funny.

Cons: A few songs the sound levels for the background and guitar had lowered volumn levels halfway during play, but they aren't my favorite songs so who cares.

Other Thoughts: It would have been nice to have a discounted price due to the lack of unlockable extra songs. For a first-timer go with Guitar Hero II, but if you love the 80's, got to have it!

3 out of 5 eggsFeels like an expansion pack...

Pros: New songs (and even a few must haves like Poison, Ratt, Twisted Sister, Skid Row, Quiet Riot).

Cons: There are no unlockable songs, so there is only 30 total.
The song lineup isn't always about being a Guitar Hero...
The death metal / skeleton decor from Guitar Hero 2 seems out of place sometimes.

Other Thoughts: A more campy / cheesy 80s presentation instead of the Guitar Hero 2 rehash would have been more satisfying.
