It's been ten years since the release of Fallout 2 and 227 years after the nuclear devastation that all but destroyed humanity and now Bethesda Games returns you to the post-apocalyptic remains of what used to be Washington DC, packed with detail and excitement as you explore 2277. You get multiple challenges with consequences or rewards based on your actions. Build your character through pivotal events of your childhood in Vault 101. Assign skill points to reflect your style of play and put yourself to the test as you venture out into the sunlight in the shattered remnants of Washington DC in search of your father – the first man to leave the Vault.

Radiation is everywhere and you'll have to balance finding food to regain health against your radiation level – putting the struggle for survival in very real terms. Character interaction can lead you to shortcuts or can lead you into dead-ends. Side quests give you the opportunity to gain aid and allies and more detail than you can pick-up on a single play-through.

Play in either first- or third-person, going beyond simple run-and-gun with the Vault-Tech Assisted Targeting System (VATS), which lets you pause the action and spend points to target a specific part of your foe with dramatic results if you hit. Take care of your weapons, however as they'll wear out without maintenance. Combine weapons into newer, more powerful ones – if you took that skill. You'll find touches of the same dark humor that set Fallout apart in the first place along with retro 1950's styles set against the ruins. Prepare for the future!

Vault 101 – Jewel of the Wastes.

For 200 years, Vault 101 has faithfully served the surviving residents of Washington DC and its environs, now known as the Capital Wasteland.

Though the global atomic war of 2077 left the US all but destroyed, the residents of Vault 101 enjoy a life free from the constant stress of the outside world.

Giant Insects, Raiders, Slavers, and yes, even Super Mutants are all no match for superior Vault-Tec engineering.

Yet one fateful morning, you awake to find that your father has defied the Overseer and left the comfort and security afforded by Vault 101 for reasons unknown.

Leaving the only home you've ever known, you emerge from the Vault into the harsh Wasteland sun to search for your father, and the truth.

3 out of 5 eggsit's just okay...

Pros: Bunch of quests, Challenging, VAT feature.

Cons: Graphics, Takes forever to beat the game without guide, Some quests takes hours to finish.. So much time consuming! Not for a full time worker like me :/

Other Thoughts: I hope the fallout vegas is gonna be way much better.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Very open-ended, pretty good interface, classic Fallout levelling style and the new VATS system is pretty entertaining.

Cons: This game should not be called Fallout. It's not Fallout. It should be called "Oblivion 3000" or something. They made no effort to disguise the fact that it's built on the engine Oblivion used, and that game was released in March 2006. 3.5 years later, they made NO improvements. Same graphics, same glitchy physics, same ugly-faced people, etc. It's basically an expansion pack for that game.

The scenario isn't believable, the main questline is stupid, the ending is HORRIBLE. After I beat it, I felt robbed.

Other Thoughts: It is a very entertaining and fun game, don't get me wrong. Just don't buy it expecting it to be as epic as the first 2 Fallout titles were, it falls way short of that mark. Hopefully they made enough money on it that they can make a new engine for their next games, and maybe hire someone other than a chimp to write the storylines.

5 out of 5 eggsMy new favorite game.

Pros: An endless amount of entertaining gameplay. Very customizable character. Fun and satisfying in so many ways.

Cons: Very glitch prone. There are moments when the game will freeze on me while trying to sell many items at once, or even at random times while walking through the wasteland. Every once-in-a-while enemies such as giant radscorpions will be stuck tail-up in the ground or even floating in air. Companions may get stuck in air.

Other Thoughts: Even though this is the buggiest game I've ever played, it is also my favorite game. If you save often enough(which you should anyway) these bugs will be no more than minor inconveniences. The gameplay controls are intuitive and you'll find yourself having more and more fun each time you play. Once your character has become really powerful you'll love it even more. Nothing is more fulfilling than blowing your enemy's head off with your favorite weapon or watching your companions permanently retire them. Be prepared to invest a lot of hours to enjoy this game to it's fullest extent. Now I'm looking forward to the broken steel expansion.

4 out of 5 eggsA fantastic game, worthy of the title

Pros: My favorite theme: nuclear devastation. The next best thing would be zombies...and the ghouls are close to that.

Great game play: an interesting mix between live action and turn-based keep the RPG style alive but without the relative slow-down that one would notice in an all-turn-based interface.

There are plenty of storylines and missions to kill plenty of time immersed in this title. There's also room for multiple runs through this game - once as evil and once as good for me. The two produce sufficient differences to make a second play enjoyable enough, though not without repetition the second time through.

Cons: Level 20 max! The downloadable content is taking FOREVER to arrive despite being available for 360 and PC for some time now to fix this issue. I really wasn't ready to start a new game (to get the EViL trophies), and was very disappointed to get maxed out so quickly - or at least, it felt darn quick since this game is so much fun to play. I can see why the limit, though, as for me things were getting far too easy to plow through at level 20. Added difficulty would be a nice accompaniment to further level progression.

There are some crazy glitches, but they were mostly visuals that didn't hinder my game play.

Other Thoughts: As a big fan of the first three Fallout titles (this is like #6 or 7) I was not disappointed. I don't even game much these days, and this was the first title I played all the way through in quite a while.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Game!

Pros: Fallout 3 is one of the best games i've played in a long time. The graphics are amazing and the "VATS" Shooting System is a fun way to take down enemies.
It has a vast storyline and very interactive play. You can follow the main quest or branch off on one of the many side quests and get back to the main one later, or just do whatever you want. This Game has very high replayability. You can start a new game with different character attributes and play with a whole different game experience because whatever you do can affect what happens next.

Cons: The only bad part about this game is that you can only reach level 20, after that you no longer gain xp for kills.

Other Thoughts: Note* It would be a good idea to take the autosave function off once you get towards the end of the game, or you could get stuck inside a building after it autosaves through the door on the final mission. If this happens you will NOT be able to continue the game for the other quests.

4 out of 5 eggsAs Good As Expected

Pros: First and foremost, it's a fun and unique game. The gameplay is pretty original (I was afraid it would be too much like Oblivion) and well balanced, the aesthetic gets closer to the first two Fallout games than any skeptical fan imagined, and the story is interesting and well-paced enough to keep most anyone engaged.

Cons: The game is buggy, even after update patches. I've had numerous slow downs, freeze ups, and several finished quests that the game will not acknowledge as completed.

While the look and feel of the world is very Fallout, the moral decisions you make along the way are not as nuanced as those of the first two fallout games--this game is actually more restrictive in what you can and cannot do (both in decision making and exploration) The biggest downside to this is reduced replay value, you play through as a good guy, a bad guy, an ok guy, and maybe make a character built around maxing your stats.

Three or four times through is good for most games, but the old fallout games had nearly infinite replayability, and I think many were expecting the same thing here.

Other Thoughts: I'm pretty upset that Bethesda made a deal with microsoft so that the xbox and pc will get exclusive content that the PS3 version will not. I won't knock another egg off though, since I'm just rating the release version of the game. Let's hope they at least make a higher level cap available for the PS3.

I waited for this game for a long time, and while it certainly didn't make all my dreams come true, it has already recieved its fair share of play time with more to come.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Game!!

Pros: Fantastic Gameplay, HUGE map, Great Storyline, almost unlimited items you can pick up.

Cons: Graphics are sketchy, Locks up quite a bit, saves to often.

Other Thoughts: I have bought a ton of games since i bought my ps3. I've been trying to get back into gaming since i was a kid and this is the only game that got me hooked!
