It has been over ten years since the Raccoon City incident and the President of the United States has decided to reveal the truth behind what took place in the belief that it will curb the current resurgence in bioterrorist activity. Due to be by the President's side is his personal friend and Raccoon City survivor, Leon S. Kennedy, but when the venue suffers a bioterrorist attack, Leon is forced to face a President transformed beyond recognition and make his hardest ever decision. At the same time, Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance member Chris Redfield arrives in China, itself under threat of a bioterrorist attack. With no country safe from these attacks and the ensuing outbreaks, the entire world's population is united by a common fear that there is no hope left.

In a first for the franchise, Resident Evil 6 sees series favorites Leon and Chris come together to face this unprecedented threat. They will be joined by new characters, each with their own unique perspective and involvement, in this relentless dramatic horror experience enacted on a global scale.

The C-virus has also given rise to the Chrysalide, which take the mutation process even further as they undergo a full metamorphosis; spawning a whole host of horrific creatures.

1 out of 5 eggsPC version here

Pros: can not find or think of any

Cons: controls are terrible
graphics are worse than resident 5
story line does not fit in with the past games
even on easy mode the game is still difficult to play
like in past resident evil games were you could read documents to progress your self on the story....this game does not have any at all
the gui menu for item/weapons is unacceptable
stereoscopic 3D does not work so hot in this one

Other Thoughts: Capcom.....please do not bother making another if this is how you think the game should be, you completely messed up the story.

stereo 3D worked well in 4 and 5 Y not this one?

this isn't resident evil this is "call of evil" as it reminds me of a call of duty game.

only played half of the game and I am so disappointed that I really don't want to bother playing the rest of it.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Game

Pros: I'm not sure why so many people don't like this game. I wouldn't say that it's the best or the worst of the series, but it's better than most games that I've played recently. If you want a very long survival horror game with epic boss battles then buy this game. All of the four campaigns are good in their own way, and each campaign is over seven hours long. The mercenaries is fun like always with many newly added melee attacks.

Cons: The graphics are worse than resident evil 5 with the exception of some of the boss battles. Graphics aren't really what makes a game fun though.

Other Thoughts: Resident evil has changed a lot over the years to a more action oriented game, and some people can't accept that. I've been a fan of RE since 1996, and I still like all of the new ones that come out. I guess you just can't be afraid of change.

4 out of 5 eggsHonest Review

Pros: Gameplay/Mechanics:
*Resident Evil 5 modified engine.
*Smooth controls that feel comfortable.

*Leon/Helena - Slower in movement as far as action goes. Dark in nature that brings the story telling back in to the franchise. One of the longer story archs.

*Chris/Peirs - I was worried about the Call of Duty type style that was semi advertised/hinted during some interviews. By the end of all the chapters the story paid off very well. I felt for both Chris and Peirs towards the end of the chapters. I enjoyed the campaign a bit more than Leons.

*Jake/Sherry - One of the more favored archs of mine. It was different from Resident Evil that we have known but it worked fairly well. Interesting information that came from both characters and supporting characters in this arch. This was an interesting fast paced campaign and of all the archs, this was the easiest to find out what needed to be done.

Ada - This is the most difficult of all the story archs (when I say difficult I don't mean impossible. I state this to say this is the most difficult it will get). She is alone and the story arch gives a lot of filler info that makes the rest of the archs make more sense. She is also the only story arch where you are alone minus the cross sections.

The mercenary mode is included from ship date on this one. The maps are setup fairly well. Solo can be difficult to gain a bunch of points but not difficult to complete.

Cons: Leon/Helena - Very dark, sometimes not at all needed. There will be times in the campaign that the objective will not be obvious but this may be the focus Capcom went for.

Chris/Peirs - Maybe a bit to much taken from Gears of War. You may restart certain sections a bit to much for your own liking.

Jake/Sherry - This one I had no real complaints about. It seemed to be the actual prime focus of where Capcom may be taking the series. Without ruining much of this section, this one reminded me of the Paul W.S. Anderson movies (Not directly, merely ideas used in the movies.)

Ada - Simply towards the end. (This is all I will say about that but there will be a part or two that will have to be restarted due to not knowing what you may have to do).

Game in general:
*Graphics are slightly outdated but not worth mentioning other than that. You don't play games for graphics, you play them for the game itself. If you do play the game for graphics, stop gaming. Your not playing for the right reasons.

*There are parts of the game that characters will reference previous games but they are not obvious and don't fit correctly to the situation.
*There is a few cheesy parts in the different story archs that seem almost like fillers.

Other Thoughts: Do not go in to the game thinking your going back to classic Resident Evil. That is dead and long gone, no point complaining about that. Take the game for what it is and you'll be fine.

In closing, this has been one of the most enjoyable games in the Resident Evil series for me. Both mechanically and game story itself. It was playable, which is a major portion of liking a game for me. The game was also long and the story to me was well thought. There were gaps but nothing game crippling like some will say.

Do yourself a favor and rent or try the demo if you don't believe just reviews (which you shouldn't). In my personal opinion the game was well worth the $60 with its 23 - 27 hours one play through for all campaigns and actually taking my time to enjoy what the developers did.

5 out of 5 eggsActually, pretty awesome.

Pros: Graphics, lots of medals/achievements, 4 campaigns (3 are coop if you want), cool healing system, skill system where you can unlock passive skills and have presets of them, plenty of action, agent hunt mode (lets you join peoples campaigns online spawning as random zombies). A variety of CRAZY zombies. Well done cinematics and cool little cutscenes all over the place. Good fun!

Cons: hmmm actual cons..... I honestly have enjoyed the game thoroughly so far. so none?

Other Thoughts: I have played all the other resident evils and think this game is pretty awesome...I don't understand why people hate it so much.....zombie jeebus forbid we have cinematics in between the waves of zombies and maybe try to go in new directions with a series. After 5 I don't think there is any going back to ye old fixed cameras and messed up rotation controls. I am enjoying this game more than RE5 easilly. I'm gonna have to say try it for yourself, maybe rent it and give it a chance you just might like it, if not well at least you were able to decide for yourself.

3 out of 5 eggsBetter than its Reputation

Pros: Leon's campaign is by far the best of the three. Jack's campaign was exciting, and felt very "survival horror".

The graphics looked fine to me, not groundbreaking by anyone's standards, but they are good for an action game on the PS3.

In the end, I was ok with this purchase. It made marginal upgrades to RE5 in terms of the action (Jack felt survival horror), and is making steps in the right direction.

Cons: Remember how I said Jack's campaign felt "survival horror", well, the one thing I could do without would be the running! Oh my the running! You will run from just about everything as Jack. A big monster, a tank, a helicopter, a mob of guys too big for you and Sherry to fight head on. Run run run. See that big thing in the cutscene? Yep, you're about to run from it.

Chris's campaign is trying to hard to be something like Gears of War. I felt some culture shock when going from Jack's campaign to Chris's... that shouldn't happen when you play the same game, with similar enemies and the same controls. The cover system feels clunky... take a page from Gears, or even Uncharted and fix it.

The script was terribad, even for a RE game. Take RE1's script, remove the good parts of the story and fill it in with "generic action movie" lines and filler, and you pretty much get RE6's script. The voice actors did all they could with it, but the writers of this story should get out of Capcom immediately!

Other Thoughts: It seems that Capcom doesn't like the numbers divisible by 3 in the RE series... But they come back really strong after. Let's hope RE7 can learn from RE6s mistakes, and come back stronger than ever.

1 out of 5 eggsWhy Capcom? Why?

Pros: Some of the Leon part isn't absolutely terrible.

Cons: The Wesker Jr. (spoiler?) part is just awful.
Chris's part isn't much better.
The story is terrible.
The gameplay is worse.

Other Thoughts: Avoid at all costs.

2 out of 5 eggsDidn't come with any pre-order bonuses

Pros: Game arrived safely and works perfectly.

Cons: The features read: "Pre-order Resident Evil 6 to receive an exclusive map that functions with various game modes."--It does not come with any per-order bonuses. When contacting newegg about the issue, they pointed me to capcom's support line. Left a message with capcom, they haven't responded in a week.

Game arrived a day later than I expected.

Other Thoughts: I'll not shop here again for anything with pre-order bonuses--it's not worth the hassle chasing it down.
