Why is this game still so high?
- Pros: If you like really bad video games, you'll love this. It's sort of the "Plan 9 From Outer Space" of PS2 games, in my opinion.
- Cons: Voice acting is horrible. The character movement is laughable. The sound effects are often bad and when you're character is walking, it sounds like he is clog dancing or something.
- Other Thoughts: I bought this game years ago when it first came out and it was pretty bad, even for the technology then. I did play it all the way through and it was passable back then. I recently got a new PS2 for Christmas and dragged all my old games out. This one will undoubtedly, go back into storage, as it's just to hard on my brain to force myself to play. Even "Plan 9 From Outer Space" can only be watched so many times, before it becomes a form of torture... Why this one is still available, let alone for such a high price compared to other, much better games, is a mystery to me...

Play the role of Jean-Luc Couger, a special operative for an independent goverment agency called S.C.A.T. (Strategic Covert Actions Team). A terrorist group called the Crying Lions has infiltrated the high-security complex that houses the GULF Strategic Weapons System, a high-tech satellite with laser capabilities. They have already destroyed the Center for Space Research, and their leader has announced that they have no demands - the main agenda is destruction. The GULF system needs from 3 to 4 hours to power up before the next blast, so Jean-Luc and the other operatives have just about 3 hours in which to accomplish the impossible - take back control of the GULF complex, or disable it so that the terrorists may not make use of it. |
