4 out of 5 eggsAnother Tale

Pros: I pre-ordered the CE edition of this game during 1st quarter of this year from Gamestop. It has all the aspects you expect from a “Tales of” game but follows along the lines of “Tales of Abyss/Vesperia”. It has a slightly darker undertone that, in my opinion, puts it higher on my list than “Tales of Graces”. Struggle, sacrifice, determination and strength are the main focus of the story and you get to experience this from two different main characters. If you are looking for a big romance novel like “Tales of Graces,” save yourself the trouble now. The added bonus of two main characters makes you want to play the new game +, if not only for the bonuses of seeing the other characters development, dialogue, growth and point of view. The combat system is like all others with a circular battle field that you can straight line or free roam in.

Cons: A link system is added were you can mentally connect with an AI controlled character and they will stick next to you (like white on rice) while aiding you. This can be pretty annoying for the simple fact if you accidently run into. . . .let’s just say. . . a giant laser, they will follow you right to your death. If there are 4 strong NPC’s around and you want every person on one, the link system can hinder that while your other two get pummeled by a loose NPC. You can choose when to link or not. NPC’s will randomly do it unless you turn this option off and to do special moves or power up your meter to do your super move you need to be linked in order to accomplish these task. One other con, if not a pet-peeve of mine, is that the English female voice actress for one of the main characters has a lisp. At first it was really irritating but then it either somehow went away or I stopped noticing it

Other Thoughts: Overall “Tales of Xillia” is a great addition to the “Tales of” series that I really can’t say has many big negative impacts to me. I could sit here and nitpick for pages but that would just be annoying. If you are already a fan of the “Tales of” series, like me, then this is just another great tale. If you are a newcomer on the fence yelling through your neighbor’s window wondering if you should start here or not, go ahead. It can’t hurt to start somewhere and you will see that fans of the series each have their personal favorite “Tales of” game whether it be for the story, combat, or characters. My personal favorite is “Tales of Vesperia,” but tale can wait for another time. . .

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I've been playing RPGs since 1985 and this is a good RPG. Enough side quests to keep you busy for a few days and a few hidden storylines for those who want to put the time into this games.

Cons: nothing

Other Thoughts: I see the other 'review' and really don't see a review of the game except that is 'sucks'

1 out of 5 eggsLame

Pros: None

Cons: Tales groupies are going to hate this review but this one sucks. Story sucks and you have to fight all the low lives a bunch of times instead of finishing them off. Can grind and get ahead of the game and then the same loosers show up again.

Other Thoughts: What a disappointment and the description is totally off. The four is only at the beginning.
