2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Decent for its age and budget. Under $20.

Cons: Dont expect it to stand up to triple A titles in the last 2 years. Played it a few hours and never picked it up again. Motion controls are bad, I wish they would have just let Wii titles have this gimmick to themselves. But you can turn that off if you DL the free patch on PSN.

Other Thoughts: You get what you pay for. Could do worse for the price though.

1 out of 5 eggsSadly, wasted potential

Pros: Detailed visuals with massive vistas. Interesting, though classical, story of a long-fought regional conflict.

The art-style and (some of) the voice acting is truly top-tier. If you're paying $15, it could certainly be worth checking out as a novelty.

Cons: Unfortunately, almost everything that makes a videogame fun is lacking in this. The game simply chugs on a technical level, the controls are simply bad; both unresponsive and unnecessarily obtuse.

Beyond this, things like turning radius and movement speeds are not at all appropriate for the areas you're navigating in anything past the initial level. Once the game moves into its many cavernous interiors, no controls, not even the patched non-Sixaxis controls can make this game bearable. Certain enemies will have oddly small amounts of health, while some other dragon rider enemies will have obscenely large allotments of health.

The visual details are also inconsistent, as some surfaces, even at a distance, will look simply blurry, and ground-level details will jump between low and high detail versions.

It's really too bad, as the developer has made solid games in the past, and there is still a lot that makes this game's premise and art-style stand out.

Other Thoughts: You'll notice the most positive reviews of this game seem to go out of their way to make mention of the broader state of the game system it calls home. I take this as a sign of some bizarre affinity which seems to have "nudged" their enjoyment of the game outside of its actual qualities.

A rent of this game is safest, unless you're looking for the experience of deciding if you can enjoy the game as an oddity.

4 out of 5 eggsFun game

Pros: Looks great and, let's face it, you get to ride a dragon...
Bad control scheme fixed with latest updates.
Not a bad story.

Cons: Maybe a bit repetitive at times.

Other Thoughts: Older game that is a lot of fun to play for a pretty low price. It looks great and is pretty fun. Lots of complaints earlier about the control scheme being sixaxis only, but that's been fixed with updates-you can switch to analog control.

2 out of 5 eggsLooks so good... Sorry it plays so bad...

Pros: Even though it was an early PS3 release game, the graphics are top notch...

Cons: ...the controls and glitches just make you cringe...

Other Thoughts: I got this game when certain titles became rare. Had the time finally to play it, and rather me enjoying the experience, I was trying to get through the game because I paid for it.

The voice acting, special f/x, environments, even some levels were really good to go through, shows off the PS3 potential. However, the execution leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

If you REALLY want to play this game, either rent it or buy it used. It's not really worth a new release title price for a game that's been out over 2 years...

4 out of 5 eggsDon't always believe what the reviewers say.

Pros: The sound is incredible. The story is compelling. The graphics are nice. It's different. I got it real cheap here from newegg. It's entertaining and that is why I personally play these silly and childish games.

Cons: I'm going to hit the dead horse again: The controls. They are somewhat flaky. No more so than that of many games on the wii. Perhaps Factor 5 should have given it substandard graphics and released it for the wii instead. They'd have gotten praises instead of the slamming that they received. And they could have thrown in some plastic wings that the controller could be put into. And people could flap their arms and feel that they are staying fit.

Other Thoughts: Don't always believe these game sites. Many of these same 'game experts' gave Halo3 a better rating than COD4. um.......no (at least in my opinion). I have owned at least 15 different game systems and have played countless games. So I guess I'm a game expert too. What might seem great might not be to others. I have never understood the appeal of Metal Gear.....AT ALL. MGS4 has unequaled production values but, I didn't like the controls and gameplay. Does that mean it's a bad game? No. It means that I can find something else to play. The bandwagon says that this game sucks. I say otherwise.

3 out of 5 eggsNot as bad as some say, still not too great though.

Pros: The game is a first person shooter and in all honesty, you press a button and the gun shoots, bullets hit things, as a result, things die, and objects blow up.
Introduces interesting aspects to the game play as you play on either side (trooper or rebel) Rebels can play dead and appear invisible to the troopers, and bury grenades which create mines. Troopers can use Nectar which cuts down on gun recoil and makes reload time faster. Online play is actually decent, and with 4 player story mode co op, its a decent game to play with some friends. While story telling is bad, the actual story has some interesting aspects

Cons: The graphics really come short in this game, every so often you'll see something that looks nice, but then you'll see some very ugly graphics. There arent really any interesting guns, you have basic assault rifles, handguns, shot guns, and sniper rifles. None have amazing design or special secondary fire. The voice acting is almost unbearable. While online play is actually fun, the game plays music from the game, much of which is rap music. During the actual campaign you dont hear the rap music much at all even, but in the multiplayer its very apparent, and even if you like rap you might find this stuff annoying, its not done by high profile artists.

Other Thoughts: Haze could've been reaaalllllyyy good, with an interesting story line, and being developed by big name developers, I have no clue what the hell happened to this game. However despite some ugly graphics, the game actually is not all that bad, its a first person shooter and the game actually works, you cant compare it to something like killzone or resistance, but its fun to pop into my ps3 everyonce in a while. However given the developers track record, this game should have been amazing. Its an average game.

4 out of 5 eggsWasnt too bad

Pros: You get to fly a freakin dragon!!! Sixaxis controls are actually decent once you get used to them. The game is just fun, and has some of the best music ive ever heard in a game.

Cons: The controls do have a learning curve so it isnt pick up and play. The level design gets a little annoying at times, you will find yourself going back and forth flying all over the level to complete various objectives.

Other Thoughts: This game is no where near as bad as most review sites would lead you to believe. I had a good time playing Lair and with a few minutes of getting used to the controls, it was a very enjoyable gaming experience.
