Spartan warrior, Kratos, offered his service to Ares, the God of War. The god betrayed him into slaying his family. Burdened by memories of his deeds, he renounces Ares and devotes himself to the service of the gods of Olympus for 10 years in exchange for redemption in this prequel to the first two games of the series.
Kratos' odyssey takes him beyond the ancient lands surrounding the Aegean – to Tartarus and the very realm of Hades itself. The world has been plunged into darkness and he must face the creatures of Greek mythology including basilisks, cyclops, and hordes of undead. The Spartan must also defend the city-state of Attica from the attacking Persians eventually doing battle with the Persian king himself. In battle Kratos wields his signature Blades of Chaos with brutal effect. Obtain red orbs to upgrade your weapons and magical abilities to increase your lethality. Combination kills bring bonus orbs.
Kratos' quest forces him to choose between personal redemption and saving the ancient world from destruction. Along the way, he must overcome labyrinths and challenging puzzles in addition to mythological foes. His combat style remains dynamic despite the smaller number of buttons on the PlayStation Portable. Whether he is wading through large numbers of Persians or leaping onto the shoulders of a cyclops to thrust his blade into the monster's eye leaving no doubt that he is truly the god of war.

A fun flash in the pan.
- Pros: Great graphics, great gameplay. Overall, this game is a blast. Hard to put down!
- Cons: Waaaay to short. Took me just barely 4 and a half hours to beat it. Can easily be beaten in one sitting, and it leaves you wanting more.
- Other Thoughts: A great game, totally worth playing, but given how short it is, it's a bit sketchy for the near $40 price tag.
BEST PSP GAME
- Pros: This is by far, the best psp game I have ever played and possibly the best handheld game. The graphics are the best I have ever seen on a handheld device period. The gameplay is fun and intense. The music is stunning especially if you have a good pair of headphones. The list goes on....
- Cons: Its kinda short, only 6-7 hours long on normal. This game makes the battery life really short on the psp since it was programmed to use the full power. I wish this game came out a long time ago.
- Other Thoughts: Simply put, you must play this game, get a psp and get this game. You will not be disappointed. This game really shows what the psp is truly capable of and hopefully we will see more games like this one. What are you waiting for get this game!

Sweet Game!!!
- Pros: Awesome Game!!! Nice graphics, great gameplay, decent length. All in all a great game to own.
- Cons: None
- Other Thoughts: Might not be the greatest game for little kids being it has a lot of killing and blood.
Great game
- Pros: Great graphics. Wow, I was amazed at what they fit on that tiny little disc. I don't get to play often, but I've put about 6 hours in to this game on easy and I've still not gotten to the end of it.
- Cons: Folks say it's a way too short game. I'm not looking forward to the end of it!
- Other Thoughts: Amazing graphics. I actually got a little vertigo climbing along some of those cliffs!
gamma
- Pros: Beautiful gameplay involving combos and weapons to upgrade. IF you beat the game at certain difficulties you obtain different costumes for Kratos, each with its own assets. Awesome graphics for a PSP game. Interesting storyline to begin with. Still have hot chicks wanting Kratos attention
- Cons: Disappointed that they didnt have any Rage abilities.
- Other Thoughts: Finally a GOW game for handheld. Must have beaten it like four times but still it's addictive to play. Definitely add this to your arsenal of GOW collectibles
