4 out of 5 eggsfull screen?

Pros: The cable definitely won't break, as it's thick. seems to be made of good quality materials. Connections are snug on both the PSP and the TV. Connectors seem stylish and nice bright colors. It works for what it's supposed to do.

Cons: The connection to the PSP is tight, but it seems a bit awkward as the cord goes straight, 90 degree angle to the right. If it gets pulled, I'm afraid it will twist in the socket and bust either the connection on my psp or the cable connection itself. The cable seems a bit thick also, which could be seen as either a pro or a con. I find it a bit awkward.

Also, many games I play on my screen only take up a small part of the screen in the middle! What is the point of getting this, if the screen you get by connecting it isn't much bigger than the PSP screen? I doubt it's the fault of the maker of this cable - they did what they were supposed to do (convert psp video/audio output to HDMI), but what has Sony been up to? Maybe it can be fixed with further firmware updates, who knows.

Other Thoughts: why can't it do dishes T.T =(

5 out of 5 eggsAvoid the rest, purchase the best

Pros: Reasonable price. Genuine Sony product. Other generic products like Pelican's maybe faulty. No complaints on graphic quality when hooking up PSP3000 to XBR4 LCD. Graphics quality for Tekken: Dark Resurrection work comparable to that of the PS2 console. Castlevania also looked great. Maybe because the XBR LCD has a wide/zoom function - there wasn't nearly the amount of free black screen that I've seen on other blogs/youtube accounts of the screen size being disappointingly small.

Cons: The cord is 2.5 meters or little over 8feet. May not be ideal for gaming if mounted on the wall. I don't mind standing or sitting on a stool however.

Other Thoughts: The sony product was well worth the $5 more.

2 out of 5 eggsDon't be fooled.

Pros: Lets you view the XMB and movies on an HDTV in fullscreen.

Cons: If you're one of the few people who actually use their psp to play video games (like me), and want to use this cable to view psp games on an HDTV, fullscreen, don't bother. The psp renders the game at 480p resolution inside a 720p resolution output, resulting in a small image of the game surrounded by massive black borders on all 4 sides of the picture.

Other Thoughts: In my opinion this is a feature-crippling bug. The error is not with the cables themselves, but with the PSP. The problem may be fixed in the PSP-3000 model, but that is yet to be seen. My point in this review is that you should not buy this cable if your intention is to play PSP games on an hdtv, since that feature on the PSP itself is crippled. If, however, you want to use your psp as a portable video player instead, feel free to get these cables.

5 out of 5 eggsPSP Component AV Cable

Pros: way to go Sony! This is a great accessory for viewing the PSP on large LCD TV. Good picture quality (depending upon quality of original), game play is larger then PSP screen but not full TV screen and music/photos can be viewed, too.

Cons: price, egg has this $3 less then retail, which is also MSRP, but add shipping and your back to MSRP/retail price.

Other Thoughts: would be cool to have ALL the necessary cables packaged w/PSP or as a starter kit.

4 out of 5 eggsDoes what it says

Pros: It outputs the video onto any Component-ready TV

Cons: Appears blurry in 4:3 ratio TVs, even in Progressive mode and the cable is rather short.

Other Thoughts: Does what it says, although results are clearer on 16:9 ratio screens. The cable seems too short unless you intend to you the PSP as a UMD movie player, of which UMD movies are becoming more scarce.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes what it should

Pros: It does exactly what it's supposed to -- component video output, allowing both video and gaming on a TV.

Cons: It's not the fault of the cable, but as others have noted, games will usually show in a small box with big black borders. That's because the resolution of most games are only half of the display resolution. You don't notice on the smaller PSP screen that it's really zoomed in.

Other Thoughts: Note that you need this compoNENT cable in order to view games on a TV. The cheaper compoSITE cable won't do games. Also, you need a TV that can do 480p/720p (meaning a high-def or HD-ready TV) for gaming, even when the games only use half the resolution, it's still progressive scan.

2 out of 5 eggsPSP Component AV Cable

Pros: Allow pictures, musics, and games to be to be view/heard tv.

Cons: Require a HD tv or a tv that has progressive scan to be able to display gaming from the PSP. Gaming display screen can not be adjust to be display in full screen. Very poor av cable for psp and incomplete + overprice.

Other Thoughts: Have extra money and want to buy it go ahead. It's not that great. It's not what people would have expect it to be.
