2 out of 5 eggsGood but........

Pros: Works as advertised. Great on the PS3 and saw some using it on the PS4 (They said it worked fine there too). Good sound, very comfortable, adjustable. Mostly good build, but MAJOR flaws (see cons)

Cons: Okay, I have had this headset for over a year now, going on 2 years. I take very special care of all of my products especially ones that I paid 180 USDollars for at the time. After a year and a half of use, the little clips that holds the ear cups to the actual head "half-ring" have cracked as users have said. Terrible design by Sony. I have solemnly swore to never buy any physical product that Sony makes after this. It really does make me upset that they made a great headset with such a large flaw. Thanks for reading. Hope you don't make the same mistake I did with these which was buying them.

Other Thoughts: Could have been better, but just trash in the end. I hate having to buy a new headset year after year. You can find a tutorial on YouTube that will show you how to use zip-ties to keep the ends from moving any more so they don't snap off.

2 out of 5 eggsNot so great headset that was updated

Pros: These have good sound over the original Sony Playstation headset. Good bass. Mulitple sound mounds. Can run it wirelessly or plug in the 3.5mm cable for a wired connection to p.c. or phone. Any audio source really.

Cons: These have stopped pairing with the included dongle. I have done multiple resets. I have let the battery die. Recharged. Left them turned on while I went to work, would not pair ever again. I have to leave them plugged into my PS4 remote to have any kind of sound from them. Only way I can use them with a console now. Only reason to give them 2 stars, is because they function as a wired headset still. This new "updated" version of the Pulse elite lasted less than my first pair of Pulse elites.

Other Thoughts: Sony got rid of the 3.5mm jack on the dongle, so now can not plug t.v. into it and listen to that anymore. Why are we still messing with dongles? Its 2014 Sony, almost 2015.

3 out of 5 eggsAlright

Pros: -Good sound
-Mic picks up well.
-Bass impact is different and interesting

Cons: -Stupid-short battery life
-Button layout is a bit confusing, but nice to have all the options.

Other Thoughts: I used this headset on my PS4. Bought it to replace my PS Gold headset when the hinges started to break. pulled it out of the box Turned it on and plugged it in. Had to switch the sound mode around. Overall easy to operate

Overall the sound was good, it hit good lows with the bass impact, however if the impact wasn't set right, things got a bit ridiculous. Like rumbling your head when your deep-voiced friends talked in your party, or it just rumbled along to the music when it wasn't necessary. for the first week of use, I noticed that even on the bassimpact levels that worked well, i would get a ear ache from using it for extended periods of time.

I like the bass impact, it is a rather interesting and fun feature. However it also gets weak when the battery gets low (at least that's how it seems)

My biggest gripe is that the battery is just horrible. If you leave it charging all night you will get anywhere between 1-3 hours of battery life out of them. Which if you are using them across the room, that is terrible. I almost always have mine plugged into the usb cable (sit at a desk) But if I unplug it to talk in the kitchen or something, then 10 mins later it will beep for the low battery. I could go 5+ hours with my gold headset with no issue.

4 out of 5 eggsLook Good, Sound Good, Feel Bad

Pros: Wireless is always nice, light weight and well balanced on your head.

Ears stay comfortable (but not top of head)

Great sound quality

Surprisingly ductile, after a year of wearing they have kept the original form.

Good mic quality, not having a boom I was very surprised that people in my party could hear me nice and clear with not too much background noise.

Cons: Short battery life (about 4-5 hrs)

Pretty uncomfortable on the top of the head, have 2 friends that had these and they say the same thing. I often have to adjust the position of them in order to keep wearing them.

Buttons and sliders are pretty confusing. Most of the issue is just finding them, the power slider is tricky and I don't always find it right away, same with the mute button.

Game and Chat volume is 1 slider. This can be kinda annoying because if you just want the chat to be louder you have to move the slider to chat, then adjust your overall volume slider because now your game volume has decreased.

Cracked housing!!!! I take pretty good care of my headset, and over the course of 1 year from putting the headset on and off my left speaker, just under the silver disc has cracked.

Bass Impact technology? More like annoying vibrators attached to your temples. Thankfully you can turn these off. While they are fun to listen to music like dubstep they are NOT designed for gaming, its just too rumble in your ears, even the slightest nudge of the slider overpowers the rest of your game. Not to mention in party chats when you have that one friend with the low voice these things make him sound like Charlie Brown's parents.

Other Thoughts: I bought these a year ago from newegg for $125, compare that to what it is now.

I wasn't a big fan of the 6 preset options. I used these for two things, gaming on my PS3/PS4 and occasionally with my PC (which by the way work just fine, just have to have the wireless fob, just having the mini usb plugged in didn't work) Sometimes i would accidentally hit the preset selector button thinking it was the mute, which is on the other side, and now i have to slowly press the thing 5 times to get back to where i was.

If you have a small head these will fit quite nicely i would image.

I would not recommend these to a friend. They just aren't comfortable and besides that the features and button layout just don't feel right. Not to mention turning them on while wearing them, once they connect they make a long high pitched tone that is almost ear piercing.

They do show the volume level and battery level when you turn the volume up or down on your ps4 which is kinda cool i have to admit.

Seeing that mine cracked 1 week after warranty im going to go back to the more comfortable turtle beaches. Going to try out the ear force 400's.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent Headset

Pros: Very Comfortable and sound great. The microphone is built into the earpiece so there is no breakable stick mic hanging off the side. Includes cable for use in portable devices if desired though this cable is used often if battery dies (see cons)

Cons: There is no charger included. There is no way to know battery life until it dies. Don't forget to turn them off or they will die, which defeats the purpose of having wireless headphones.

Other Thoughts: I would buy these again but include the purchase of a charging cable.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Range/reception is great, if you're in line of sight it's about 30 feet. Lasts about 4 hours on a full charge. Bassimpact is a cool effect. Mic comes through clear and headset function works flawlessly.

Cons: Not the most comfortable, my ears ache after several hours of wearing them. Great for gaming but sound quality suffers for music.

Other Thoughts: Worth the money.

3 out of 5 eggsSONY Pulse - Not the best headset

Pros: -Hidden mic
-wireless
-OK Bass
-Very comfortable
The worst part of every wireless headset is that you have to charge it every once in a while, but with these you can still charge it while you are playing.

Cons: To start off, I've had these headsets for about a year and they can break easily. They are not the most durable headset and my ear cups just fell off after 5 falls from 3-4 feet. This headset is also not good for shooters where you need to hear footsteps. I compared this to my Turtle Beach p11 ($60) and with the turtle beach, I could hear more clearly. Furthermore, they also get very loose after you wear them for about 8 months.

Other Thoughts: For the sound comparison, I used Black Ops 2 and went on the map called HYDRO, which has a lot of background noise, and with the Pulse headset it was very hard to hear footsteps. Now with the the turtle beach, they sort of eliminated the background noise and it made it easier to hear footsteps

1 out of 5 eggsThese Phones Don't Work

Pros: When they work, they provide wireless service.

Cons: These phones are cutting out all of the time and don't have more than a 20 foot range. Don't waste your money on them.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Headset

Pros: Really good sound quality, although it is my first headset it fits so perfectly to what I play. This would be my #1 recommended headset for anyone using a PS3 and possibly a PS4 with the new update. It comes with its own app on PS3 that has modes specifically made for games like The Last of Us and GTA5.

- Sleek nice Design
- Hidden mic
- Good sound quality for a good price
- Lots of modes to suit the game you play

Cons: After about 6 months of use the silver part just above the earmuffs started cracking, maybe it's because I have a big head and use it frequently but I sent in one already because of the cracks and the USB dongle not actually connecting to my device anymore. Overall it's my most preferred headset but afterall I am a first time buyer for these type of things.

Other Thoughts: Would recommend to anyone using a PS3 and possibly PS4, works with PC but not sure if all the features are available on the PC such as the mic.
