3 out of 5 eggsIt works... meh

Pros: It works! Play your ps4 in another room, has ps store for pstv and vita games, price is cheap for access to gaming in another room or another location (if you have good internet)

Cons: Erf. Has connection issues like the vita. Cannot do party chat and game at the same time without making pain in the rear changes and workarounds.

Other Thoughts: I bought this because I was tired of having problems with my vita losing connection. So this also loses connection. If both are wired in the same network, it isn't really that bad, but you can't chat and game. There is a workaround that supposedly works where you create a second account on your ps4 and then you can put that in a chat and then switch back and game in your main account, I tried, didn't work and only thing that happened was I got frustrated. So playing fps with friends is account no go if you need to chat or even just hear them, either party chat or game. You choose.

In the end I solved the issue by purchasing a second ps4 for my living room and I just sync trophies on one ps4 before going to another room, same with game saves for something like fallout then downloading syncs on other ps4 when in man cave.

For times when going away from home... it's amazing. Tiny little device and you can just plug into and tv and play, but the connection has issues. I find that if I'm doing intense travelling I just use one of my xperia phones or xperia tablets because they connect better asndnd I can just put my sim card into the z4 tablet and it has zero connection issues. Z3 compact tablet has some issues if you aren't right on top of your wifi spot, z5 phone no issues, same for z3 phpne they both work flawlessly.

If you want access and don't want to spend 400 on another ps4, get it unless you have shoddy Internet because then you'll be staring at pixellated poor connection blurring most of the time.

Would I recommend it? Yes, unless you can afford another ps4 or one of the xperia tablets or phones as they work much better and you can use them for more than just gaming.

1 out of 5 eggsGreat if you already have a controller and PS Plus.

Pros: It plays all of the compatible PS One/Vita games very well.

Cons: You CAN'T watch videos that you purchase through Sony on it. They call it VitaTV even though it only has Crackle and Hulu :( Sony doesn't even label it separately on my account, it just shows that I have 2 Vitas.

Other Thoughts: I had a spare memory card from my Vita already. I also had a spare controller. I also got a wicked great price at Best Buy (through my work "perks" website) less than 25usd in June '14. PS Now works great if you have over 10mbps downstream. As far as I am concerned the price was the only thing that made it acceptable. I DO use it but only at my gf's house to play Tomba! since I don't have a Playstation there.

1 out of 5 eggsWorthless junk

Pros: None.

Cons: Was not able to stream fast enough even with wired connection plugged into modern routers/switches (tried 3/ or 4) or even direct connection to ps4. Pathetic. Even the freakin ps tv OS GUI was lagged, choppy and unresponsive. Sony should gift cash money to everyone for attempting to use this worthless junk. And having to deal with dumb customer support to no avail.

Other Thoughts: Wish I could give it a negative 5 eggs. After attempting to get decent reponsive streams for and hour, I felt like taking my shotgun to the device.

2 out of 5 eggsPSTV

Pros: Cheap Console if you want a cheap one. Good for kids, works like PS Vita with PSN Account.

Cons: NO NETFLIX, it absolutely does not work, doesn't work with the browser, doesn't work with the app. A dealbreaker for me as that was the intended purpose with some gaming options as well. Back in box on the shelf now.

4 out of 5 eggsThe PS TV we deserve but not the one we need

Pros: I mainly got this device to stream a PS4 onto another television and in that, it delivers quite well. I don't usually notice any lag or issues. The vita games or psone games that are supported play really well and look nice on a television. While using the on screen keyboard can be a chore, the only real time you will have to deal with it, is during setup.

Cons: Not all Vita games are supported, does not support netflix

4 out of 5 eggsA Great Console, Undone by Sony's Execution

Pros: You can play a lot of games that're intended for PlayStation Vita, as well as plenty of PlayStation Portable and PSone Classics games, on your TV at 720p.

While the UI isn't ideal for a controller, it *is* very snappy. It's so much more responsive than Wii U's UI, in fact. Why Nintendo can't get things this right is bizarre.

Cons: Where do I begin? As much as I love PlayStation TV, it's hard to ignore its flaws, most of which are due to poor execution on Sony's part.

Not all PlayStation Vita games are compatible with PlayStation TV. Some PlayStation Vita games that very well could be compatible with PlayStation TV simply aren't "compatible" because developers/publishers won't clear them for availability on PlayStation TV. The same goes for PlayStation Portable and PSone Classics games.

If you prefer buying games through Sony's online store from a desktop computer, then good luck figuring out which games are compatible with PlayStation TV. Sony has a "compatibility list" that hasn't been updated in ages, and it's generally unclear which games for any given platform are "compatible" with PlayStation TV.

One last gripe: Only 720p? Really? Aren't PlayStation Vita games natively rendered at 540p? You'd think that upscaling to 1080p wouldn't be an issue and would actually be preferable to 720p.

Other Thoughts: Buy this if you want to play a lot of your PlayStation Portable and PSone Classics on your TV without a hitch. Be cautious with your expectations if you're expecting to play some of the more popular PlayStation Vita games, though, and don't expect games to simply be available for PlayStation TV simply because they should work well with a DualShock controller, because it's ultimately different between developers, publishers and regions.

4 out of 5 eggsVery happy. Remote play works good

Pros: Remote play works very well on wired network.
On sale for 29.99.
Works with Dualshock 4
1080i with 60fps

Cons: No 5.1 surround sound
Graphics are darker as other reviewers have said
Trying to stream game wirelessly is troublesome, on any device.
Headphone jack on Dualshock 4 is not compatible.
Missing a lot of features that other media players have.

Other Thoughts: For 29.99 this does what i what it to do. Remote play my ps4 games from the game room in the basement to the livingroom TV upstairs. Both my PS4 and Playstation TV is hardwired on my home network. Activated QOS in my router and remote play runs super smooth. Its not a Roku replacement. Sony could have had a Roku contender, but it lacks several features of the Roku. Playstation Now is now supported, but i haven't tried it yet. Thinking about buying another one for the bedroom.

1 out of 5 eggsWhy didn't they call it a Vita TV?

Pros: Well, it's small, sleek, and quite portable, with the exception of the fact that it still needs a proprietary power brick.

Cons: I've owned a vita before, and I know it's limitations. And they aren't technical limitations... just software support. It's the worst I've ever seen. Limited games, unintuitive user interface, and not even 1080p support?! What is this 2006? It does not come with a controller. Which is another 60 dollars down the drain. Now you're ready to enjoy some great entertainment right? Hold on there hot shot, you still need a proprietary PS Vita Memory Card which costs 4x more than a standard microSD card. Honestly I wish they could at least release an all in one package that includes a controller, 16gb memory card, and the system for like $99 or something and then maybe it would make sense. The only way it would make sense is if you have a PS4 and want to spend an extra how much to remote play in a different room. But why make a whole new product for a such a small audience. I think people got confused thinking this is a streaming device such as a roku, which is what you should get if you are planning on getting this for entertainment. This will just give you frustration.

Other Thoughts: Kinda want to return this to be honest but I already bought a controller for it...

4 out of 5 eggsWorth every penny of the $29.99

Pros: A tiny console able to remote play the PS4! Plays Vita games on a big screen and has some Video streaming services a web browser e-mail etc.

Cons: There is a minuscule but nonetheless period of lag, probably within 50 to 200 milliseconds so remote might not be suitable for timing intense action games and shooters. You also do need to buy an extra memory card and another DS4 to get full use out of the thing.

My biggest grouch is that I can't stream videos on my PS4 to this which is minus 1 star, although I can "cross buy" the videos and store them directly on to this from the PS store.

Other Thoughts: Although I can't say this is for everyone, it was still a great purchase worth every penny of the $29.99! PS4 remote play is awesome and with a good wired connection it will stream my games without major issues to a 32' in our bed room.

The Vita system itself seems to be in need of more games and apps, however there are a few essentials such as Netflix and is good enough to keep me entertained while I can't be in the living room (where our kid sometimes falls asleep)
