In days now long past, the War of the Lions rent the land of Ivalice in two. And it is here that two young men of note first stepped onto history's stage. The first is a man named Delita Heiral, the hero who would draw the curtain on the War of the Lions, this dark act of Ivalice's history. The other, whose role is now forgotten, is a man by the name of Ramza Beoulve. Peer through the eyes of these two young men, and uncover the secrets that lie hidden within history's darkened folds.
Originally released in 1997, Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions is a portable update on the classic turn-based strategy game that gave birth to the world of Ivalice. New features include all-new CG sequences, all-new jobs, new 16:9 widescreen presentation, new head-to-head multiplayer and new storyline elements that refine the genesis of the Ivalice Alliance.

great stuff
- Pros: This game is great. If you have played the original then this is a must buy. Updates to the language are dramatic but well done.
Cut scenes are awesome with good voice acting to finally put a voice to the characters.
- Cons: slower paced than some might like. not really a con but something to be aware of.
- Other Thoughts: Great tactical RPG with a deep but easy to understand job system.
Must Buy
- Pros: This is basically a clone of the original PS1 game, with some added extras. New CGI sequences add to the story and help to understand it better.
- Cons: None really, just some minor sounds changes from the original. The Lancer class from the original was changed to "Dragoon." The Summoner was changed to "Mystic." Not exactly the "new classes" but whatever.
- Other Thoughts: An excellent game that is a classic. Multi-player battles have been added in (I have not tried this so I can not comment on it either way), cant wait to try it out though. Probably not going to happen but I hope they come out with more of the Final Fantasy series ( VII!!!!!) on PSP.

- Pros: Interesting story, and full of adventure
- Cons: lack of some options, and unable to see the map before the fight. It would be great to have different Races than humans.
- Other Thoughts: Unable to change any other ability if you are at a character selection before the fight.
Tactics is tough
- Pros: I had the one for gameboy i think this one is better plays style story and all.
- Cons: none
- Other Thoughts: probably better off using the tutorial i know i was
War of The Lions
- Pros: Beautiful cutscenes, tactical gameplay, and just enough challenge to keep things interesting. Voiceovers superbly done, storyline never gets old or cliche'd. A wonderful update to an overall very fun game, took a little while to get reacquainted with the jobs system, but that's half the fun!
- Cons: Cannot skip long cutscenes, or advance in the dialogue. When you're accustomed to reading quickly, this gets tiring, especially on a 2nd or more playthrough...
No "New Game+" Option?
- Other Thoughts: Would have gotten 5 stars if I could skip video content after the first playthrough. Actual time beating the game the 2nd time around: ~6 hours, with the cutscenes and dialogue breaks, closer to 13 hours.
