When chaos reigns in the streets and casinos of Sin City, it's up to the international counter-terrorist unit known as Rainbow Six to take out the opposition. You play as Logan Keller, one of the team leaders of Rainbow Six as you follow terrorist ringleader Irena Morales from a dusty Mexican border town to glitz and glamour of Las Vegas.

Lead your squad as you fast-rope from helicopters, rappel from hi-rise roof tops and use night vision goggles and snake cameras to locate your enemies and extract hostages. Make full use of cover as the AI-controlled enemies will attempt to counter your tactics as you sweep through the casino floors in pursuit.

While normally playing in first-person perspective, the camera pulls out to show you the area while you take cover behind door jams and slot machines. Your AI-controlled comrades will follow your instructions and each room offers multiple points of entry allowing you to select effective tactics. In addition to solo play, up to four players can take part in the mission. Ten multi-player game modes include Survival, Assassination, Terrorist Hunt, Attack & Defend and Retrieval among others with up to 16 players. Sometimes, what happens Vegas shouldn't stay in Vegas.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat Xbox 360 game, subpar PS3 graphics

Pros: Great game, one of the best tactical shooter games.

Cons: PS2 graphics packed on a PS3 platform.

Other Thoughts: I bought this game because my Xbox 360 was sent for repairs. Since I miss the game and I have both systems, I bought the PS3 version assuming there won't be much difference. Turned out to be a big mistake. The resolution looks like it's 480p. Please do yourself a favor and get the Xbox 360 version.

3 out of 5 eggsFun game, poor graphics.

Pros: Very fun, multiplayer is awesome, maps are huge and detailed.

Cons: Graphics are so dark and it seems as if my TV is running with the brightness set to the lowest there is. You can barely see the enemy you are shooting because there is very little contrast between the enemy and the surroundings. Menu is very hard to navigate through. Game takes a long time to load compared to other games.

Other Thoughts: Buy this game if you have a lot of money. If you don't, then don't buy this game. The PC version is much better.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Gameplay Shooter!

Pros: a well designed game with a good story line! I'm not much of a console shooter game, i'm usually a mouse and keyboard kinda guy for shooters, but this game totally converted me. online and single player is great!

Cons: none really

Other Thoughts: Just out of curiousity i borrowed a copy of Vegas for computer, i favored the computer version more BUT, that's because i was a constant counterstrike player and i started shooter games with a computer, this game is definately the game to get!

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Game

Pros: As stated in a previous review (which helped in my buying decision btw) this is a much needed FPS for the PS3. The game isn't as glitchy as some other games (COD3) and you can play split screen. Graphics look good at 720p.

Cons: No mutli player lobby (already stated)
No 1080 support
Night vision is useless.

Other Thoughts: Because were in need of more PS3 games, this one is great to add to the lineup. Takes the place of COD3's lacking multiplayer. Hopefully some of the con's get addressed with updates from Ubisoft.

4 out of 5 eggsRainbox Six Vegas (at 720p)

Pros: Nice tactical shooter. Sharp and colorful graphics at 720p (see cons). The depth of view in this game is amazing. The game has a good story line, and very smart AI. Enemies will proactively engage instead of just hiding behind cover waiting for you to attack first. Your team also behaves very realistically, intelligently ducking behind cover, attacking smartly, and assisting other team members. PS3 version includes the extra "Red" and "Black" maps on the Bluray Disc that are Xbox Live Marketplace as downloads.

Cons: If you normally run your PS3 at 1080i or 1080p, the games attempts to scale up to that resolution and fails miserably. At 1080i/p, you will think you are playing a PS2 game -- graphics are muddy, text is blurry, textures look hideous. The game was obviously designed to run at 720p. So you have to manually configure the PS3's resolution to 720p in the XMB before launching the game. In my opinion, this is just inexcusable -- it should default the resolution to 720p automatically. Multiplayer is lacking a "Lobby" system for you to pick the match you want. Voice acting of the chick in the helicopter is really really bad.

Other Thoughts: Given the drought of PS3 games, this fills a much needed hole. There are a number of bugs that really should've been fixed before this game was released, but overall it's still very playable and still very fun. Hopefully Ubisoft takes note of the bugs (especially the horrible 1080i/p upscaling issue) and releases a patch soon to correct these issues.
