ICON Loading...

In Blazing Angels Squadrons of WWII, players test their air-combat skills as they experience the most famous battles of World War II. As a squadron leader, players can fly up to 38 WWII aircraft in both single-player and multiplayer missions. The game features squadron-based combat, in which each artificial intelligence wingman's specialized skill can be used to the pilot's advantage. During the course of the 18-mission campaign, players will evolve along with their wingmen into an ace fighting force. The heroic storyline that follows the evolution of a single squadron and the cinematic presentation create moments reminiscent of classic World War II movies. Pilots fly in close to Germany’s industrial terrain during a bombing raid or emerge from the fog and cloud cover over London to engage the enemy.

Pros: Awesome game for $15, especially if you like flying. Numerous aircraft to choose from and very easy flight controls.

Cons: Game is projected in 720p. Endless battles become annoying. No in flight missiles to shoot at opposing aircraft. Very difficult to ground your aircraft.

5 out of 5 eggsEntertaining Arcade Game

Pros: I like this game a lot, but I've enjoyed WW2 era fighter pilot games since the two dimensional Wings of Fury 2 on the monochrome Apple IIe :)
The graphics are great, and it's fun to play with the SIXAXIS controller.

Cons: Occasionally the frame rate will slow down, but only when I'm flying through smoke or and explosion. It is slightly annoying, but doesn't ruin the experience for me.
Another small annoyance only occurs in one level that I seen so far. Part of a mission requires you to stay alive for ~2 minutes in a swarm of enemy planes. The game will spawn infinite enemies to keep the difficulty up.
Only runs at 720p, no 1080i support.

Other Thoughts: It is NOT a simulator, but blowing things up the old fashion is great stress relief after work. There are a few bugs, but overall I'm happy with the purchase.

4 out of 5 eggsGood fun

Pros: Real fun game. Using the SIXAXIS to fly the planes is really cool. No framerate slowdowns even when there's about 20+ planes flying in the mayhem in front of you. They hardly any learning curve to flying because they went for an action style flying game, not a simulator. Physics are simple. Levels are MASSIVE. Huge battles.

Cons: Flying using the motion-sensitive control can either be overly sensitive, or undersensitive. This doesn't detract from the game since you can still just use the analog sticks like a flight stick. However, it would have been better if they were more useful as it's so much more fun to use the motion-sensitive. Also, the graphics are just comparable to 360 and Wii. Could have done more with the graphics for the ps3, but it's essentially a port so its expected. Developpers probably wanted it out on the market ASAP.

Other Thoughts: This game is NOT meant to be a flight simulation. It's a flight action game. So while the physics are decent, they're not going to be spot on. The focus is on the fighting instead of flying. It's really alot of fun. plus it's cheaper than most ps3 games. Check out IGN's ps3 review, too. They were very fair about it.

1 out of 5 eggsbuy it for the xbox 360

Pros: NOTHING.

Cons: everything is bad. don't even look at it.

Other Thoughts: Get it for the xbox 360. it's awesome. works great. no slow down, they actually talk in the game. don't get it for the ps3. this game is really good only for the xbox 360.

1 out of 5 eggsBlazing Angels PS3

Pros: It didn't explode in my hands or set our PS3 on fire!

Cons: BUGGY! Many errors of all types. Lockups, sound drops, responds inexplicably to controller input, and strange inconsistancies in gameplay. Zero support from Ubisoft.

Other Thoughts: Sony and the PS3 software developers are going to HAVE to do a lot better for the PS3 to survive. Right now I feel like the PS3 is a lemon. A SIX-HUNDRED DOLLAR LEMON!

1 out of 5 eggsDidn't Like It At All...

Pros: None in my opinion.

Cons: There isn't very much of any story lline to the game, it just doesn't grab your attention while your playing the game and its just not fun at all... all around sucks.

Other Thoughts: I will never buy another flight simulator game again, this was the first one i ever bought and it was awful.
