5 out of 5 eggsGreat product

Pros: Plug and play
Separation of the sticks is a great feature
Does not slide around
Lots of buttons

Cons: Cable between the bases is 1" too short
Flight stick "creaks" and can be distracting - where does the oil go?
Button 8 is a bit hard to reach
Could use a thumb button on the flight stick

Other Thoughts: Excellent product for the money. Works great with Freespace 2 and Star Citizen.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat for use with Elite Dangerous.

Pros: Easy to set up, after a month of use, no problems. New drivers came out in January 2016 so update drivers regularly.

Cons: Starting to get a little "squeaky" but great for the price.

4 out of 5 eggsAlmost a perfect value for the price.

Pros: Bought to play Elite Dangerous after seeing a video review. Worked right out of the box and mapping additional functions was pretty simple. Barely have to use the keyboard as far as ship functions are concerned. I even had room to map a couple of power distribution modes. The base has a molded slot that holds an allen wrench that can be used to separate the stick and throttle.

Cons: The cord between the stick and throttle could be longer. If you want a center stick setup it's fine but if you like side-stick forget it. An extra foot of cord or even one that could be easily changed out would earn the full 5 eggs.

Other Thoughts: I have to say it felt kinda cheesy out of the box but after a bit of game-play I stopped noticing. I bought this because I wanted to get started in Elite Dangerous but couldn't afford the $150+ offerings from other companies. However I will be upgrading to a brand that uses a removable ps2 cable to link the 2 controllers to accommodate my preferred setup.

3 out of 5 eggsIt's fun at first

Pros: -It's fun when you use it the first few times. More of a thrill for the kids.

Cons: -Not many settings you can adjust, and it is just too hard to aim compared to just using a mouse. It may feel a little more 'authentic', but in any kind of game where you are trying to play against opponents, be prepared to lose. A Lot.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing for games like Elite Dangerous!

Pros: Get ready to enhance your flight/space sims. I played with just a mouse and keyboard on Elite Dangerous (ED for the rest of this review), and then moved to just a joystick. The game was fun to me, but a friend suggested that I upgrade to a HOTAS setup as soon as possible. I was afraid of dropping over $100 on a HOTAS, so I decided to try this one.

In one word: GREATESTUPGRADEFORTHISGAMETODATE!

I have been playing E:D and World of Warplanes like mad ever since I got this setup. It's super easy to set bindings in most games and the bindings set on this HOTAS are in perfect position.

Now on to the quality: I see so many people saying that it feels plastic....well....that's because it's made of plastic. Think about the hard plastic that is on a pistol grip or the plastic on a new car's dash board. It's really solid plastic and doesn't feel cheap at all. It is extremely sturdy. There is no reason to screw it into a desktop or anything when it's separated. I keep mine separated due to my long arms and it never moves around (unless I get mad at my performance in a game and almost throw it....almost....lol). The throttle has SO MANY BUTTONS!!! Both the throttle and stick are made for decent size hands. I am 6'4 and have compared my hands to NFL WR Julio Jones and his are barely larger than mine....and my hands fit perfectly on this stick and throttle.

Final thought: get this while the price is low. You are easily getting $100 worth of a HOTAS in this product and will not regret your decision.

Cons: No cons. Period.

Other Thoughts: I would recommend this HOTAS to anyone who wants to add depth to their flight/space sim games. I can't brag on this HOTAS enough. I bought it for $38 here on newegg.com and have not been let down.

The ONLY reason I would tell someone not to get this HOTAS setup is if you are into super realistic, 6+monitor setups for flight sims and you want to feel like you are actually in the jet/ship you are piloting.

5 out of 5 eggsDon't spend $100's for the flashy stuff LOL :)

Pros: - Excellent for ELITE: DANGEROUS
- I put a rubber pad under each piece with my keyboard in the middle between them. Great for ED, throw in Voice Attack and TrackIR, you got her made!!

Cons: -could use better grips on the bottom, does slide on my desk here and there. Not a big deal though.

2 out of 5 eggsAttrocious Technical Support

Pros: Inexpensive, but there's probably a reason for that.

Cons: Be careful!

This is by far and away the worst customer service department I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with.

The RZ axis is completely dead on my unit and the slider behind the throttle refuses to register correctly.

After eight days of replying to their technical support, fulfilling a myriad of requests including, but not limited to creating a video proving that I am not lying about the product being defective, I was told to RMA through Newegg.

To add fuel to the fire, they took roughly 16-20 hours between each response (hence the 8 days). I was also explicitly told that I would be sent a replacement unit once I provided them a video displaying the issues with my HOTAS X. And yet, here we are...

Other Thoughts: I'll go with another brand next time!

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Usable in either 1 piece or split. Good stick, lots of buttons, and cheap for a HOTAS setup.

Cons: The cable is just long enough to reach across my keyboard , which I like to have on hand.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing

Pros: Amazing quality, great feel, separate throttle, and many buttons.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Great joystick for flight simulators
