1 out of 5 eggsBuyers Beware

Pros: It has good sound when it wants to work. Also the distance you can go with this is pretty good too. Went to the other side of my house and didn't notice any pops or static.

Cons: Oh boy, where to start. First off, I'd like to point out how awefully made this headset is. Its made of extremely brittle plastic that will shatter on you if you pick it up the wrong way. I had this headset for one month and the bracket decided to pop off on me and only got worse from there. As of this review, I have this thing held together with electrical tape. Second, and what really gets me angry, is the battery life. If you look on the box, it says it can do over 6 hours of use. That's a complete lie. The manual also says that you can charge and use the headset at the same time. That is also a lie.

The battery life on this is, to be frank, complete garbage. I had this headset charging for over 13 hours and it could only hold a charge of 2 hours. Not quite like Turtle Beach claims right? And the charge while you play option? I couldn't tell, because I would detach the charge cable after I was playing a game or listening to music and it would just be dead and have to wait over an hour to have it usable.

The next thing to know about this headset is that it does not like to play well with wireless routers. The minute I cut my router on, the headset would not work at all. I heard you have to tinker with your wireless signal for this to work together, but why do you have to do that? With a headset no less?

For the final negative I have for this is the beeping. Oh man the beeping this thing does. Every five minutes it starts beeping at you when there is no audio activity so you constantly need to have some sound going in order for the headset to not shut off.

Other Thoughts: I mainly used this for my gaming PC and it worked just fine for the first month. After that, it just went down hill. Poor design choices horrible battery life, and the list can go on. This is a headset to go good with the PC I built because I wanted everything wireless so I didn't have to worry about cables and what not in my room. But the leaps I had to go through to get them to work was ridiculous. I've never had to literally fight a piece of equipment to work until I had this product.

As a final thought, I warn EVERYONE about the customer service for this company. If you ever wanted to get in contact with Turtle Beach, you can't call them up. You have to send them an email with proof of purchase and just wait for a response. Is that what you call customer service? Just wait around till you got someone to answer your email? This isn't a small company either since its been said to "the number one gaming headsets/headphones company" as according to their website.

I will never buy another product from Turtle Beach ever again. And I warn everyone who buys this equipment to not buy it.

2 out of 5 eggsTrying to be everything makes everything you do suck...

Pros: decent sound, music and games sound good. The big drivers help music with a lot of depth of sound.

Cons: I don't know if this is on everybody headset but with my unit there is a very regular, random, low beeping tone that comes out of the headset, it can be very annoying and there's no way to fix it that i know of.
After a few minutes the head set throws a fit if sound stops coming out and makes more annoying sound for another 5 min before finally shutting off.

Other Thoughts: IF YOU DON’T WANT TO READ THIS WHOLE THING JUST GET TO THE PART THAT SAYS “READ THIS”
I was really excited to get a pair of these for my PC. It was like "Ya it's wireless, and I don’t have to roll over my cord anymore, and it’s got a mic!" the cons far outweigh the pros... This headset is a bad idea. The idea behind it is that you can use it with any system, Xbox, PC, PS3, and its one of the only sets that TB makes for the PC, the only other one is 300$. Because it tries to do everything it does nothing well. Its multi-platform, but using the same set on multiple platforms is impractical and dumb. It takes way to long and is too much of a hassle to be worth moving regularly between say, your PC and your Xbox. There are very few setups where you CAN actually move back and forth and even fewer that work well. Having a set that is ONLY for your Xbox and a set that is ONLY for your pc is a much better way to go when working with your sound. On top of all of this the fact that this headset is so poorly designed and that there selling it for 150$ is almost insulting to me. The set up for the PC is confusing and frustrating. For the PC you have to manually download your presets to the headset using TB’s preset manager which is extremely difficult to find on top of being a waist of code that is confusing and doesn’t tell you if its working properly. (For those who are wondering, presets are like the EQ for your iPod, but for the headset itself) the PS3 set up isn’t much better. The presets that are built in are still not worth your time. It advertises 9 built-in presets but all you have to choose from are no base and no treble (sounds like a 60’s radio) treble with no base, base with no treble, or have too much of both, and the rest everything in between. In Xbox and PS3 modes its dampens noise when there is very little sound, theoretically so if you’re playing call of duty you can hear peoples footsteps seeking up behind you. Don’t try to listen to movies though because when Mufasa dies in The Lion King your headset thinks that Simba’s quiet tears are actually full of 12 year olds from call of duty trying to shove there knives into your squishy parts.
The headset really does throw a tantrum when you leave it alone. 5 min of no sound… beeps for 5 min before actually shutting off. So when you leave it on the couch because you’re done playing video game, instead of oh I don’t know just shutting off after 5 min. It tries to call you back for another five minutes so you can shut it off manually! IT TRYS TO CALL YOU BACK… and it’s not like you’re going to hear it from the other room right? That is… unless you’re like me and you ware it almost all day but aren’t necessarily using it… so it beeps in your ear constantly…
READ THIS:
The only thing this thing is good for is playing call of duty… if you don’t play COD all day, don’t buy it. Period. Logitech makes some great PC headsets for a much better price. Turtle beach does make some other good stuff too

1 out of 5 eggsDo Not Buy these at all

Pros: they worked for almost a year

Cons: They broke along a screw I thought it was my fault/ then they broke on the other side same spot, finally today they started falling to pieces the two earpads are hanging by wires rendering it useless. In all this is a very flimsy product for 100+ dollars. It would also randomly drop sound making push the volume up only to have it silent.

Other Thoughts: I did not buy these from newegg, there were purchased from a local walmart. In case this is important I do not think it had anything to do with the place of purchase just the quality of product, or lack of.

2 out of 5 eggsOkay

Pros: -Wireless
-you can listen to your ipod and play videogames at the same time.

Cons: It is not what i expected really when they advertised that you can hear footsteps loader and lower the gunshot noises it does not do it by much at all i tried all the profiles on my headset while playing Call of duty and cant tell much of a difference at all.

Other Thoughts: don't waste your money on turtle beach this is my 4th headset from them the previous ones were defective. I am currently saving up money to buy the Astro gaming A50 headset

1 out of 5 eggsThey work awesome, WHEN they work.

Pros: When these stupid things actually decide they want to pair up correctly and work the way they're supposed to, they're awesome.

Cons: These things are terrible when used for "wireless pairing". Every time the USB comes unplugged from my PC (USB connecting the transmitter and the PC) I have to spend an hour or so just trying to get them to work correctly again. My computer says that they're connected as both the mic and speakers, and they're also set as the default device but no sound comes out of the speakers and the mic doesn't work. I've messed around with all the settings on my computer, as well as just simply turning up the volume with the slider and nothing works. I just have to keep holding buttons until something hopefully works. Which is very rare.

Other Thoughts: I've read just about every manual and guide, and watched all the YouTube videos on how to pair these things up wirelessly but they're inconsistent and nothing works 100% when I try it. Some places tell me to told the button on the transmitter for 3 seconds until it flashes fast, and TB's site says to do it only until it flashes at an even speed. Some places say to hold down the button on the headset for 6 seconds until it beeps twice, but that doesn't work anyway. This headset has made me hate TB with a passion and I definitely won't be buying any more of their junk. Not to mention, the noise bleed from these things at full volume is like my on board laptop speaker at half.

2 out of 5 eggsGreat Sound, Bad Delivery

Pros: -Very comfortable (I have a big head, and fits fine).
-Great microphone quality.
-Great sound quality.
-Able to play for hours on end.
-Decent battery life.

Cons: -Auto-Turns off every 5 minutes.
-Very hard to pair with transmitter
-"Cheap" Metal bands (I feel as if they can break very easily)
-Interferes with wireless router sometimes (Unable to change the frequency on the transmitter, have to do it via router)
-Annoying "beeps" when the thing doesn't detect sound.
-Useless presets (I would expect something a bit better that allows you to hear the footsteps, and not ruin the overall sound quality of the device.

Other Thoughts: Great product, bad delivery. You cannot adjust many features of which I would love to adjust (mainly the annoying beeps and auto-shutoff). Turtle Beach is slowly losing its quality over the past few products they released. By now I would expect that they know what gamers need, and delivery it for them.

Had these things for about 5 months now, still working fine, but they really need to add some settings.

2 out of 5 eggsNoise Gate constantly cuts out sound

Pros: Excellent battery life, and very comfortable to wear even for long gaming sessions

Cons: Noise gate threshold is far too high: background music and ambient game sounds cut in-and-out. This can be correctly slightly by turning up every system sound setting (and in game setting) to maximum volume, and using the slider on the headphones to then reduce the volume output. This doesn't completely correct the problem, game sounds and quiet scenes in movies still cut in and out. Additionally, you'll enjoy some ear deafening treatment the next time you turn on the headphones, as the headphone slider isn't a physical potentiometer, so they forget the volume setting each time they are power cycled.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect

Pros: I was looking for a headset that will work with my PC aswell as my PS3, needed to be wireless and rechargeable(who wants to deal with batteries, really). This fit the bill perfectly and they exceeded my expectation. Battery lasts plenty. Just awesome

Cons: They aren't very pretty(if you care about that sort of thing),
bass isn't insanely powerful

Other Thoughts: I bought this with a DSS amp and the quality is incredible. I've used Astro A40s w/ Mixamp before and I honestly couldnt tell the difference. This wound up being the cheaper buy being wireless. Bought the headset for $100 elsewhere
