Following the award-winning Remote Extender, NextGen introduces an improved one - Remote Extender Plus. Simply install the battery transmitter in place of one of the AA or AAA batteries inside your remote control, then point the receiver or attach the bright eye emitter to the components you wish to control. Now you’ve converted your existing IR Remote to Digital RF, giving you the freedom to go from room-to-room and control your components anywhere in the house.

Extends your Remote’s operating range By installing the battery size transmitter inside your existing remote control’s battery compartment, you have instantly converted your standard IR (infrared) remote to an RF remote. The Remote Extender Plus is available in 433 MHz or 418 MHz frequencies. This will extend your existing remote’s operating range through doors, walls, windows, floors, cabinets and closets. Pros: Had this do-dad for prob 5 years now...equip is all in bedroom closet and tv is on the wall, no wires showing, wahoo! Highly recommend this product. Cons: Base unit can interfere with IR receivers close by that are not intended to be controlled by unit. I have directv and installed a converter in the basement and use the remote from the far-end 2nd floor of a big house w/o problems, 80+ft away. Has that "just works" feature we all want. No programming. Cons: Micro-nits: Battery w/ RF rattles in the remote slightly. Seems like there is a slight delay in transmitting commands. It works from the basement to the 2nd floor and from one end of the house (3000sqft) to the other. Like magic! Cons: NONE. (I paid less elsewhere though). Other Thoughts: I didn't get mine from NewEgg, but I am loyal NewEgg fan. I do get most of my stuff from NewEgg and rely heavily on the user reviews.
