4 out of 5 eggsDoes what it's supposed to do

Pros: Controls multiple devices (I only have 3)
Customizable controls
Excellent database of devices
Backlit buttons

Cons: Horrible online configuration
Even more horrible installed software
Button layout could have been better

Other Thoughts: I got a refurb. Battery life is than the 5 days unlike some other reports.
Software is horrible. It's portal to their online database. Forces an update every time you log in. There is no point in this, just download what is needed or allow the user to manually update when needed. The servers were unresponsive and it required multiple restarts to get my configuration right.
Online configuration is unresponsive at times as well. It was a bit better since you can repeatedly refresh to hit the "good" server.
Getting over the horrible configuration, I like the feel of the plasticy/rubbery feel buttons that it comes with. I am a channel surfer and I would have prefered if the number keys were in the middle instead of the bottom.

1 out of 5 eggsGreat RMA service, unfortunately

Pros: Works great, controls my Denon av receiver, samsung TV, and DirecTV box with just one button. The logitech software took a few tries to get it configured but was very intuitive. I've told all my friends how great this remote is, it very cool

Cons: Great RMA service, or should that be listed under the pros. My first one had some sort of power short and would drain the batteries in a matter of days. This happened just shy of the 1 year mark (whew!) so I called logitech and they sent a replacement, no problems.

I've had the 2nd one now for a year, and it just died too - it does this "testing" when I hit any button and wont do anything else. Seriously logitech, can't you try to make products that are quality?

Other Thoughts: If you're looking to buy a new universal remote every year, logitech is the company for you! As much as I'm impressed with their ease of use of their products, I prefer to spend my money on a product that's not gonna die in a year.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome!

Pros: So easy to setup and use. It took me only 30 minutes and I was enjoying this marvelous remote. The instructions were intuitive and easy to follow. I really love how easy it will be to make changes as well.

Cons: The buttons are kind of small and for my older eyes they are a little hard to read, but I can wear my reading glasses.

Other Thoughts: Excellent for the price! Newegg was super quick in shipping this to me as well.

5 out of 5 eggsSweeeet!!

Pros: Controls all of my devices including a cable box/DVR from a maker I have never heard of before, a 10 year old CD player, a 7 year old DVD player and a LCD TV that has been on the market for less than a year. And it controls them flawlessly. The software to setup the remote is very intuitive and worked wonderfully. I set up 5 items and encountered not a single problem.

Cons: Installing the software took a little bit of time (~15 minutes).

Other Thoughts: This is a very nice remote. There are 3 buttons at the top to automatically set up your home theater for watching movies, TV, or listening to music. Totally cool. No more having to find 3 different remotes to turn on the equipment and configuring the TV and receiver so I can watch and listen to my movies. The LCD screen provides additional options not available directly on the remote. I have used this for all of 20 minutes and I don't understand why I didn't buy one of these earlier. I purchased this from another retailer refurbished.

3 out of 5 eggsThe 670 works great but lacks durability

Pros: The Harmony line is by FAR the easiest best line of remotes I have ever seen. I cannot say that I know of anything that is even close in terms of functionality and ease of use. I use this things for my multpart entertainment center and it is the ONLY remote that actually lets me put the originals away.

Cons: Battery life is pretty bad.
After about 8 months it started rebooting because the battery compartment doesn't firmly hold the batteries in.
Logitech products in general seem to suffer from quality issues these days.
I have had more than a few lock ups and freezes.

Logitech support is really bad.

Other Thoughts: Once again the Harmony remotes are such a joy when they are working. I have had two different models now and both were broken withing the first 1-1.5 years.

4 out of 5 eggsFinally, down to one!

Pros: This remote rocks! Incredibly simple to program with very easy, intuitive software. Launch the software, connect the remote, select your devices and how you like to use them, and voila! Harmony even had codes for my obscure HANNSpree LCD TV, which not even HANNSpree could provide. The "activity" approach to controls is a much more logical way to go when you have multiple components, and it's very wife/girlfriend friendly. :)

Cons: I started out with a refurb 659, but the "glow" feature stopped working within a week. Newegg did not have any more in stock, so they gave me a full refund (go, Newegg!). Replaced it with this 670 (refurb from another outlet named after a large river) for less than 1/2 the price for new, and I'm pleased. 670 button layout is better and the DVR-friendly controls are great.
For some reason the remote cannot get my TV to the right input when changing activities, although you can cycle them manually. But I think it is more likely an issue with my off-brand TV than with the remote. The Harmony software lets you completely customize all settings to try and overcome any anomalies, but even with the remote correctly understanding the inputs and the order they are in on the TV menu, it still gets the input wrong! The failed glow light on my first remote, and the issues with the TV input lead me to give 4 stars instead of 5.

Other Thoughts: This is the best remote I've ever owned, and even my wife (who has hated every other universal we've had) likes it. Even with the small TV input issue, it still accomplished my two goals: (1) control all my components, and (2) keep me from having to get up off the couch to do anything. Provided the hardware doesn't fail, this could be the last remote I buy, because I can't imagine there would be a device it won't control! It can even replace an MCE remote for your media PC!
One tip: before using the activity buttons, make sure everything is turned off. The remote can't detect if a component is on or off, so when it does a power cycle to start an activity, if something is already on, it will turn it off. But after a few days, this became second nature.

4 out of 5 eggsAddendum to previous review.

Pros: The best feature of this remote is being able to program it via a pc to turn on/off more than one thing simultaneously. HA, the wife won't touch it because she doesn't understand all them buttons. Thanks Logitech.

Cons: I still give it 4 eggs due to lack of paper manual.

Other Thoughts: I previously wrote "It is missing one button that my dvr remote has(live) but I'm okay with it". Well, if I would've read the instructions further I would've found it. I found it by scrolling through other screens. So basically I don't understand today's tech as much as I thought I did. It won't control a PS3 since it uses bluetooth. I wish the buttons were a little bigger.

4 out of 5 eggsI like it

Pros: Being able to use only one remote is sooooooo nice. I use it to control tv, dvr and receiver. Finally, I don't have three remotes sitting on the end table. Fairly simple to setup for those that actually understand today's tech. Keep it away from the wife.

Cons: It is missing one button that my dvr remote has(live) but I'm okay with it.

Other Thoughts: I paid $60 + tax at the big box store closing. Good thing I got there when I did because it was the last one. 60% off was too good to pass up. I can't say it's worth what stores are charging right now but if you have a store closing by you it's definitely worth $60.

5 out of 5 eggsWOW!!!

Pros: WOW. This thing is truely amazing. Compatible with just about everything.

Cons: Eats through batteries like no tomorrow. I am working on a modification for mine that will take a 6 volt rechargeable power pack. Its rediculous.

5 out of 5 eggsSaved my marriage

Pros: Ok not really, but it did make everything so much easier. I'm controlling 5 devices with this one controller. The first time I set it up it only took 10 minutes and it worked almost good enough to leave alone. See Cons

Cons: It took me another 3 times with it to get it perfect. It would have been easier if there was a better manual, wait, there was no manual. There was a online one and a help feature but the best help came from Logitech own forum.

Other Thoughts: Need to have some other type of help, but for how it works and can be customized (can even change the wording on the LCD screen) I still give it 5 eggs
