5 out of 5 eggsDoes everything I want it to

Pros: Will control anything that uses an IR remote. Will learn IR commands not in Logitech's database. Software makes it easier to setup and make changes than traditional universal remotes. Has a charging stand. Color LCD screen. Uses one-touch activities to easily switch between watching satellite TV and playing a DVD. VERY customizable - you can rearrange the LCD buttons for each device (very handy to put the most-used buttons/functions on the first page). For example, when watching a DVD, I have the LCD setup to have a button for eject, subtitles, and Top Menu for the DVD player, plus a button to turn theater mode on/off on the TV (changes pictures settings, backlight levels, etc.). You can setup favorite channels and add any picture you want for each channel's logo to easily surf to your favorite channels.

Cons: Buttons are small. Backlight is not very bright. All of the silver buttons are "clicky" and feel slightly cheap. Steeper learning curve if you want to get into customizing the remote.

Other Thoughts: This is a fantastic remote if you don't do a lot of clicking or scrolling through on-screen guides (if you DO, the clicky buttons will probably bother you - it has page up/down buttons that are rubber and would be easier to use though). I have it controlling a Sony SXRD TV, Toshiba HD-DVD player, Harman Kardon Receiver, DirecTV HD Box, and my HTPC running Media Portal.

5 out of 5 eggsBest remote ever

Pros: Very easy to set up, took about a minute to transfer the settings from my old Harmony Remote to the new 720. Color screen with ability to change backgrounds to whatever you want as long as image is small, and a slideshow while on the charger. Can learn any command from any remote as long as it's inferred. No more batteries to change. Remote lights up just by picking it up.
Setting up any device is a easy as entering the model number and your good to go. One button to turn on or off all my devices, and one button to change the device, let me explain. When I turn on my TV using the 720 to view a show on cable box, the remote turns on the TV, Stereo receiver and cable box. If I want to watch a DVD the remote changes the TV input, Receiver Input and turns on the DVD player. If I want to play my Playstation 2, it changes the inputs and turns on the Playstation. If I wanted to I could use the remote as the gamepad on the PS2.

Cons: Does not fit in your hand as good as the 880. No RF, or Bluetooth control. Blue light around the Activity button is very bright, but adjustable. Rubber flap covering USB slot will not stay in it's place. Keeps falling out. Remote is long, kind of difficult to press an activity button then change channel on number pad. Number pad buttons are tiny.

Other Thoughts: This is my second Harmony remote, I got it for Christmas. It's all I wanted. My remote controls the following:
Mitsubishi HDTV, Okny Reciever, Cable Box, Windows XP Media Center, PS2, Toshiba DVD/VCR player, Fijitsu Air Conditioning unit and changes inputs so I can play the Wii.
When I go to a friends house I can't understand WHY they have to switch between 4 remotes just to turn on tv. With this single Universal Remote I am able to hand it over to the baby sitter and my Extremely non-techy mother-in-law with out a single question. All I get is a WOW this is easy. All I have tell them is to press the activity button to switch between the devices and go.
Don't think about it, buy a Logitech Harmony Remote.

5 out of 5 eggsa universal remote to control your universe

Pros: controls everything i need it to control.
when i upgraded my receiver, switching the remote from controlling one brand to another was seamless.

Cons: none.

Other Thoughts: the online database of devices blows me away. i've even looked up old devices i once had but have long since replaced.
can't wait to upgrade my other devices so i can set up the remote to control them as well.

3 out of 5 eggsIt was easier using four remotes

Pros: Looks nice, feels good in the hand, rechargeable.

Cons: Difficult to setup, hard to align in charging stand. Find myself using the original remotes and buttons on the equipment too much still.

Other Thoughts: Maybe I'm just not as smart as I thought I was. I'm a HUGE Logitech fan and I expected this remote to be easier to setup and smarter than it is. First of all, my Yamaha receiver wasn't properly supported. I actually had to do the whole "aim the remotes at one another" routine to make them work. This is a common Yamaha A/V receiver...nothing out of the ordinary. It controls the main things now, but I haven't been able to get it to control my iPod through the Yamaha receiver and iPod dock. Also, it would be nice to be able to switch from watching a DVD to listening to the iPod by just selecting "listen to iPod" on the remote. Why can't this thing be smart enough to turn off the DVD and TV and make the switch to iPod? Instead it just turns everything off because it assumes the receiver is already off. The setup software was very confusing for me, so that probably didn't help getting things setup right. Maybe I just need to play around with it more.

5 out of 5 eggsSo far... awesomeness

Pros: Porperly controls and automates the actions of my Philips 720p flat panel, Motorola cable box, Sony dvd/vcr and Wexford electric fan with a push of a button

Cons: has trouble with my Panasonic CD/Tape/Radio from 1997 and mixes up my Philips tv with my Magnavox tube, computer software freezes ocasionally but neither is a huge issue for me

Other Thoughts: Got this on black friday and the 80 bucks was totally worth it!!!

5 out of 5 eggsJust what I needed

Pros: I was skeptical about such devices but I thought I'd give it a try.

The only frustrating thing was waiting for the battery to fully charge before setting it up. After all we are all boys and we want our toys now! :) I occupied myself with something else and when the battery was full I installed the software on my PC and started setting up the Remote Control.

The setup was literally a 10 minute task. My devices were in the database (you have to write them down before you set the Remote Control - saves you trips from the computer to the devices themselves) and setting them up was a breeze. The wizard makes things very easy.

Once the Remote was set up on the PC I went to try it on my devices. It appeared that it was out of sync i.e. it thought that the devices (TV, FIOS box etc.) were switched off, but with its onboard wizard this was easily rectified.

Again in total the setup took 10 minutes.

Extremely satisfied with this purchase!

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: There is a slight delay (hardly noticeable) when you click the volume button until your TV responds. This might be my TV but I am just mentioning it here. After a few minutes operating the remote it you don't even notice it.

5 out of 5 eggsThe best consumer electronic device since the remote control itself!

Pros: I don't think you can really fully appreciate this device unless you have one...

If your electronic devices are like instruments in an orchestra, this uni-remote is the "Leopold" of conductors.

In plain English - "Harmony." Standing ovation for this one.

IT EVEN AUTOMATICALLY CONTROLS MY OPPO31 HDMI SWITCH; seamlessly tying together all my components. I don't even have to think about it anymore.

Cons: Not having one

Other Thoughts: I can enjoy antiquated equipment! My receiver and VCR are 10 years old. The "Harmony" makes these devices easy to use (especially the receiver). The remote for my Yamaha receiver was completely useless until now (possibly the worst remote ever).

It truly adds value to your home-entertainment system - no more remote juggling, no more getting up to press buttons that should be done remotely, no more manual switching...

Now, I can fall asleep even faster in front of the TV!

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: By far the best universal remote I've ever dealt with. The web interface programming is extremely well done and makes programming fast and easy. The remote itself controls all of my equipment flawlessly. It even works with the Boes 3 in 1 system we have that no other universal remote could!

Cons: The battery dies quickly if you don't keep it on the charger when not in use. I'm not sure that's a con so much as it's common sense though.

Other Thoughts: I'm so impressed with it that I've bought one for my parents since they are forever calling me to ask how to change the tv input so they can watch a dvd.

5 out of 5 eggsAs slick as they come...

Pros: I'm teaching it to tie my shoes next. I thought Logitech's approach of attaching it to a PC/Internet and then plug in the mfg/model #s was innovative. I was dreading programming the unit, but after I pulled my components out of the rack and scribbled the numbers down all components worked on the first go around. Even the quirky Olevia flat panel TV worked on the first try (mfg not listed in the default dB but I could manually enter it and Logitech found them).

Cons: I thought it was a little pricey, did not get from Newegg and found it about $30 cheaper at a discount club. Not a remote for the technically adverse. You have to be able to use a PC, but true technophobes are a dieing breed.

Other Thoughts: Buttons are a little on the small side and they are backlit, but very weakly. I hope I don't lose it under the cushions, I don't think it has a paging mechanism.
