4 out of 5 eggsCost doubles in 5 years?

Pros: Very easy to integrate all devices and functions into one remote with one button macros. I've owned and used this remote repeatedly for more than 5 years with only a handful of easily corrected issues.

Cons: The software application (and later the web app) are a little quirky where each remote requires its own account. Paid $175 for this remote 5 years ago; why is it now $400?

5 out of 5 eggsOutstanding!

Pros: - Went from four remotes to one! Turning on everything needed for particular activities, to the correct presets/channels is very nice. (i.e.: "Watch TV" - TV on to HDMI 1, DVR on, and A/V Reciever on to HDMI 1; all with the touch of one button, and powering down is just as simple)
- Price is easily justifiable for the value of simplicity.
- Battery lasts many weeks on a single charge.
- "Favorites" channels saved in an easy-to-use menu, comes in very handy.

Cons: Haven't found a single one.

Other Thoughts: As mentioned above, the price of the remote is justifiable when you look at how much simpler having a single remote.
The software to configure the remote is a little quirky and takes some figuring out, but is pretty easy once you get going.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great!

Pros: Was able to consolidate 4 remotes in to one, easy to use remote/interface.
Customization of activities to achieve one touch power-on for all devices needed. (i.e.: "Watch TV" turns on TV, cable box, and reciever on correct input).
As for the battery, it is still running off of the initial full-charge right after opening the packaging (going on 3 weeks).

Cons: Can't find anything wrong with it yet.

Other Thoughts: The only suggestion I can make is to adjust the input delays between the remote and your devices. At first it seems like "lag", but drop the ms delay from the default to 100 or so and you can hardly tell.

5 out of 5 eggsLogitech Harmony One Advanced Remote Control

Pros: The remote is great, it does everything. After installing the software on my computer it was a breeze to set up. Using the prompts and hardware look up table I programmed the remote for my TV, AV receiver, Direct TV box, blue ray and even my IP station. The remote has a nice touch screen that displays icons for your gear. You can set it up to watch TV so with one touch of an icon it turns on your TV, Cable box and your receive to a specific input/output. Same with any other device your program.

Cons: The battery wont hold a charge after two years but that is to be expected.

Other Thoughts: I'm not sure if they still offer this remote but it's a great one touch remote for all your gear.

1 out of 5 eggsBuyer beware

Pros: Some very good concepts, one touch to turn all all devices needed for an activity

Cons: I have purchased many Logitech products over the years and the way the quality has gone down is shocking.

I replaced a Harmony 880 remote that I've had for 5 or 6 years with a Harmony One.

One thing that I didn't see anywhere is that the Harmony software will not install on Windows 7 64 bit. That killed an hour of trial and error until I finally got someone on the phone who told me that. Fortunately I have a 32 bit XP computer I could use. I installed the latest software (from the web as the disc had old software). Now the XP system didn't see the harmony when it was attached via a hub; but it recognized it when plugged in elsewhere.

Finally I got all the programming transferred (almost, a few buttons didn't seem to come thru). And it seems to be working fine. One strong plus is that the buttons are much better on the one than the 880. The delay in actually sending out the IR codes is much longer than before, often causing double hits because we didn't think the first press wo

3 out of 5 eggsMixed feedback

Pros: *Once it is set up, works great
*Can control multiple devices
*Menu can be customized as much as you like
*Rechargeable battery with convenient cradle
*Most basic functions are built in

Cons: *Logitech website doesn't have sufficient bandwidth to support number of users
*If you don't use your stored profile periodically, they will delete and when you go back to make changes, you will have to start over
*Battery access door doesn't stay latched (I returned one unit and even the one I have isn't great -- seems to be a problem mostly with the Harmony One as I have a Harmony 900 and don't have that problem).
*Battery life on the Harmony One isn't as good as some of their other products.

5 out of 5 eggsWorth the money

Pros: If you can think it, this remote can do it. Very Very versatile and easy setup, and if you want you can drill down and tweak about anything.

Cons: I would say on starting up devices its a little slow but not bad. For example it will turn on my tv, surround, media center, etc and everything will be on but about 5 more seconds then it is ready to do other inputs but not bad.

Other Thoughts: If you give this remote a bad review on setting it up or it does not do what you want odds are your an idiot and should stick to getting off the couch and pressing power with your G od given remote of an index finger.
