Make all your electronics work together with the Harmony One advanced universal remote from Logitech. Setup is easy; just connect the remote to your PC or Mac, and the setup wizard will help you configure the remote. Pros: Replaced 6 remotes with this one. Haven't found a feature that is missing yet. They even had what I thought would be an obscure HDMI remote switch in their device list. Had a problem w/ my Yahama receiver not working properly (off/on). Sent email to support and they took a look at my profile, made some changes and it appears the problem is resolved.
Cons: It'll take a while to set up everything and rearrange the buttons the way you like. But, now one press of a button and all my devices turn on/off and/or switch to the correct settings. My soon-to-be-ex always complained our system was too complicated for her. She might have stayed if she knew about this remote. Come to think of it, that is more a Pro than a Con.

My new favorite universal remote

Pros: Near perfect button layout and buttons are responsive. Deep device database. Learning standard buttons is a breeze Good looking and fits the hand well Nice backlighting and good motion detection Installable software is stable Favorites with graphics is quite nice Charging cradle is better than a cord stuck in it.
Cons: Can be easy to touch the soft buttons accidentally or even the wrong one. Software is tedious. *No ability to back up configuration!* Cannot change the order of the devices (for advanced users) Cannot change the power off order of devices Cannot create extra actions when powering off
Other Thoughts: I'm an MX-700 owner looking to update. Bought an MX-810 and this remote edges it out because of button feel and button responsiveness. I have to say both of the softwares for these remotes suuuck. But in the end it gets the job done. One thing my other remote(s) do very well is allow you to open different config files and download them or even upload them from remote to software. Logitech's way is to have a single living config which cannot be backed up, shared, etc. I think this is a real disadvantage, as it would be disheartening to have to reprogram one of these from scratch. Part of the reason its tedious is because they don't have a graphical button layout where drag and drop comes in really handy!

Pros: Of all the components that make up our Home Theater System, the Harmony One is without a doubt the one Item we are Most pleased with. And to think I was hesitant to plunk down nearly $200 for a remote. NO REGRETS.
Cons: 1.Programable "Marcos" can only contain 5 commands which isn't enough to switch "on" Closed Captioning on DishNetworks VIP722 Receiver. Had to program 2 macros and consequently push 2 buttons to accomplish this but beats the hell out of the 21 clicks required scrolling threw menus with the Dishnetwork remote.
2.No dedicated "DVR" Button but any Button can be programed for this command.
Other Thoughts: Always a delight to deal with Newegg and three day free shipping was a plus.

Excellent unit

Pros: Controls everything I have Nice bright touchscreen Excellent button layout
Cons: Didn't map all the buttons from my 880
Other Thoughts: I got this unit to replace an 880 that couldn't seat in its cradle anymore (and had its screen broken when I tried to jam it on there). The Harmony upgrade process in software was super simple, though it lost all the custom button configurations for the screen since the screens were different.
The screen and button layout on this model are far superior to v880 except that the 880 had space for 8 functions on the screen vs 6 on this touchscreen. But the 880's screen is junk compared to this unit's much brighter and clearer one.

Good, could be better

Pros: Remote is a high quality unit all around. Buttons are laid out well.
Cons: Software is web based, slow, and very restrictive. You have to go through a wizard to do anything and answer all the questions.
Other Thoughts: If the software was better this thing would be 5 eggs all day.
