5 out of 5 eggsawesome

Pros: controls all devices requiring remote without switching.

Cons: none, but very expensive

Other Thoughts: Has a touch screen and is easy to set up. I got it to replace the five remotes in my living room to allow my 81 year old mother to watch tv more simply.
It controls my edenpure heater, ceiling fans and XBOX.
Must have if you have too many remotes. This integrates my TV, Soundbar, XBox and Cable box all together in a single remote without switching to other devices and controls all functions.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks for me

Pros: I recently built a theater room and was looking for 1 remote to control my equipment in a cabinet (receiver, blu-ray, digital cable box) and rear projector mounted from ceiling. I was skeptical for several months after reading reviews, but decided to try it. After 2 months, I am very pleased with the Harmony remote. Set-up went very smoothly with my 4-month old HP computer. I also purchased the RF remote extender which allows me to leave my cabinet doors closed. I have 3 activities set up, "Watch a Movie" "Turn Off System" and "Watch TV". It is nice being able to turn everything on with the touch of 1 button. Pros:
*Easier-than-expected setup
*Unique looking and perfectly-sized remote
*Does many RC commands without having to program them in (i.e. tv guide, favorite channels, etc.) but does allow you to do so if needed
*My wife can use it
*Customer support e-mailed me back within 24 hours and sent several follow-ups (tech issue with projector on/off)

Cons: The software, Logitech Harmony Remote Software 7, brings up a message on computer startup saying that it is not compatible with Windows 7 Home Premium. However, I have been able to use the software with said computer. Weird.

One issue I experienced was my rear-projector needs the power button pressed twice to power off. I had difficulty getting the projector to power off consistently, so I created a "Turn System Off" activity. Now it consistently powers off with 1 press of the button.

I cannot comment on longevity, but I have taken extra care in NOT dropping it (jinx).

Other Thoughts: This remote, along with the RF Remote Extender, controls my equipment:
*Projector: Sony
*Blu-Ray: Sony
*Receiver: Yamaha
*Digital Cable Box: Scientific AtlantaExplorer 8300HD

1 out of 5 eggsDidn't Last Long

Pros: Worked good, though it was a pain to set up...

Cons: Volume Buttons quit working just after the first year, screen won't come on anymore since just after the second year...

Other Thoughts: I liked it, I can't believe what I paid for it. For the price, it's totally not worth it. Especially if it won't last more than a year or so before things stop working.

5 out of 5 eggsLove It!

Pros: The remote works with everything, an old TV, Stereo and the new Comcast cable box along with a new IR light dimmer. Looks and works great. Not sure about long longevity, but feels solid and of high quality.

Cons: Setting up an account with Logitech was no big deal but could be a bit easyer to navigate through the software.

Other Thoughts: I love the remot, it works with ten year old 55" HD TV/stereo equipment and the new Comcast cable box. FYI, you download the software on your computer, when you set up the remote it loads the codes for your device into the Logitech software and then is up loaded to the remote.

1 out of 5 eggsLogitech Broke MY REMOTE

Pros: it controls devices

Cons: poor customer support

Other Thoughts: This company was once a fantastic company.. until recently. I've seen a huge decline in it's service and overall product quality. I had this remote until this weekend when i was prompted by the Logitech Harmony Software (provided by them) to upgrade the firmware.. This completed safely.. and asked me upgrade the remote software. Which is when I learned that the remote NO LONGER had the ability to communicate with the computer, rendering it BROKEN. I called tech support.. they confirmed that the remote was broken and then offered me the most insulting of all .. a 50% discount on a new remote. Which is frustrating because the remote was working fine yesterday and today after the firmware.. is broken.. Now they suggest I spend more money to get it working again..

I don't know what happened to this company.. I've been a loyal customer of logitech for years... until this where i will NEVER buy anything from them again.

I"m moving my entire AV system over to my ipad. Roomie Remote or i

1 out of 5 eggsTotal waste of money

Pros: Haven't found one yet. Though it might be easy to set up from a computer with about a dozen componets I had to use it with it is best to check out Cons below.

Cons: This using is a total wast of money!!! Once setup by computer it worked for a day or two before needing to be reset by pulling the battery out and reinstalling. The unit kept freezing up. I checked the website and did the update for this remote only to find it got worse. after many hours on hold on the phone with Logitec I gave up and tried to work it out myself. I spemt many hours redownloading the fixes I found for this problem from their site nothing worked. IMHO This thing isn't worth the powder to blow it to (he double hocky sticks) After several years of fruitless trying I gave up and made it an expensive ugly paperweaight. I wish I would have known about this before I spent over $500.00 for it and bought a professional controller for my home entertainment system instead.

Other Thoughts: Save your money buy a real remote not this one!

2 out of 5 eggsGood Hardware / Junk Software

Pros: Works with every device in my house except Wii. Good range. Controlls my Onkyo's volume better than the Onkyo remote.

Cons: Software (required to configure remote) is complete junk.
1) Requires online account to configure remote.
2) Requires update check to configure remote.
3) Wants to run in system tray 24/7.
4) One online account per REMOTE (yes i said REMOTE).
5) Can't update existing online account to new remote.
6) Wizard style application is clunky for experienced users.
7) many clicks to accomplish simple actions (like rename)

2 out of 5 eggsDecent Remote but Software is TERRIBLE!

Pros: Extensive device support, RF communication for IR extender when devices are not in line-of-sight, macros for switching settings on multiple devices.

Cons: Worst configuration software EVER! The configuration app is a 54MB download but is just a glorified web browser. The software only works when 1.) You have an Internet connection and 2.) The Logitech Harmony web site is operational.

I just tried to add a new receiver to my remote's config and had nothing by trouble. First had to reset Logitech account info since I haven't used it in about a year. Second, the config app failed completely when it could not see the Logitech Harmony site. Why download and install a 54MB setup application if it can't setup the device without the web site?

Other Thoughts: I like the remote just fine, but I can't understand what Logitech was thinking when they designed this setup application. WORST software EVER!

5 out of 5 eggsbest 1 out there

Pros: love the remote. owned for over 3 years very durable. for example: spilt water on it droped on tile many times. was abale to put slide shows on it. and own custom buttoms on it. it controls my computers and every device and video came consoles (360&ps3) my lights, fans and fireplaces. people that gave it bad reviews are not savy and creative enough to get the full abilities of this remote. you have to be an idiot if you cant figure this remote out. can be programed by a 6 year old.

Cons: none.impatient, stupid people that cant read or follow directions shouldn't drive a car or own this remote!

Other Thoughts: would reccomend and buy another one in a heartbeat if the one i owned actually would break!!!
