5 out of 5 eggsone remote to rule them all

Pros: Works with everything I have. Checked compatibility before ordering. Settop box, tv, atv, dvd player. The activities button is a nice plus.

Cons: A little on the flimsy side, will see how long the remotes last

Other Thoughts: I have had nothing but success with logitech products.

4 out of 5 eggsGood & Bad

Pros: Was able to program for all six devices including old 5 dics CD player and my Charter Motorola DVR. The ability to save the settings on a PC is nice feature. The mini-USB is better than having to buy the JP1 adapter for my old All-For-One

Cons: Wife doesn't think button placement is natural enough. Also there is not way to keep the button lights on and thus see the keys while getting used to where they are. My old All-For-One had a light button on the bottom left which was easily accessible in the dark, this remote doesn't apparently have that.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome IR Remote

Pros: I caught it on sale ($59.99)
Has the potential to control everything (with IR sensor: NO PS3 without extra equipment)
Can store the controls for up to 12 devices (thats more than enough to make this your one and only remote for the rest of your life)
Looks great and feels even better in your hand
Excellent software (web version available)

Cons: This remote has and accelerometer or something inside it. The slightest bump or movement of whatever desk, table, or dresser you leave it on will result in it waking up out of sleep. That means if you have is on your couch or something while watching TV, it will never fall asleep. On the topic of sleep, this remote needs 2 hours of inactivity to fall asleep. I am NOT saying that the backlight stays on all that time because it DOES NOT, but the little LED screen will not turn off until it falls asleep. Also, because of this extended sleep timer, I feel that I will end up changing the 4 AAA batteries (required for operation) a little sooner than I would want.

Other Thoughts: Its very weird, but it comes with 4 batteries inside the remote (which will probably be dead) and an additional 4 (new) batteries.

To be completely happy, you will need to spend a little while tweaking the software to get things the way you want them. Things like the backlight timer, names of your activities, names of your devices, and the name and order of the functions displayed on the little LED screen (it could just be me and my obsessive compulsive ways)

Right now I have it programed to control:
PS2 slim (it will power the console on and off)
Samsung T240HD (also purchased off of Newegg)
MacBook (replaces the FrontRow remote)
Digital Cable box (Cablevision)
Sansui VCR
Two other RCA televisions around the house
Sony DVD player

All things considered, this is a great remote and would recommend it to anyone looking for a universal remote. Try to catch a good deal although I know this remote is worth every penny of its price tag.

5 out of 5 eggsPain Free Setup

Pros: Easy to set up. Worked right out of the package. Just install fresh batteries, install the software, check for updates and walk through the set up wizard. Couldn't be happier with this purchase. All devices were recognized. I made a few mistakes with the set up from my computer, but they were easily corrected by the remote's help menu's and/or reviewing my settings through the software. No problems with a refurbished unit. Worked as advertised and is pretty compact to boot. Goodbye 5 remotes, hello to a great all-in-one!

Cons: None that I can think of.

Other Thoughts: If you encounter problems with the setup, you get an included 30 days of phone support. I didn't have to use it, but it is nice to know that phone support is there if I need it. Overall a great product. Makes me wonder how I ever lived without it.

5 out of 5 eggsLove it. Best remote I ever owned.

Pros: -Easy to setup. Instead of entering codes for each device, you can hook up the usb cable to your pc.
Then from a menu on your computer's screen, choose your items to be remotely controlled.
The software sets the remote up to work with that electronic device.
-this device was able to pull up the closed-caption menu and I could toggle to english. (I've been stuck on spanish for about 3 momths).
-showed me control options I never knew existed, for each electronics component.

-soothing blue background lighting.

-lightweight

-comfortable

Cons: -Tivo buttons/controls took a bit of time to get used to, on this remote.
-when increasing or decreasing TV volume control, the TV tends to get going too fast.
[example: On my TV, I want to go from volume level 25 to 28. By the time I let my finger off the button, it is flown past 29 and has already hit 30]

Other Thoughts: I'm gathering up all my old, working, remote controls and will just donate them to a charity.
This 520 is rocks.

5 out of 5 eggsLove it!

Pros: We can control everything with this one remote. The best thing is that with the software you can always update it if you buy a new tv, dvd player or any other devices. When we first got this remote, our new lcd tv was so new it was not listed, but a few months later, I updated it online and it was listed; very nice feature.

Cons: Seems to like to eat batteries; wish they had a LiOn battery and charging cradle for it. There is some delay in the powering on and off of devices, but not a big deal.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: Works with all of my devices, can control multiple devices for one activity, knows what device to use for what I need to control.

Cons: Only ONE, my television takes 10-12 seconds to start up, the remote doesn't have a delay (I don't think), it tries to switch the input while it starts up and gets it wrong every time, even after I adjusted it. No big deal to me, no more multiple remotes.
