1 out of 5 eggsJUNK

Pros: Looks nice, thats about it.

Cons: Broken, never worked properly. Wont even turn on, been through all the troubleshooting throughout the web and its apparent that there are internal issues with the remote. Would not recommend to anyone for the amount of money it costs, you are throwing your money away. Logitech support is the worst I have ever seen. I wish I had an alternative to recommend. Try anything else before you waste hours of frustration on this glorified overpriced piece of junk.

1 out of 5 eggsThis thing is horrible

Pros: Beautiful design and great functionality. When it works it works great

Cons: Broken out of the box. I received this in a nice box with all the packing material. Hooked everything up and once the device was charged it when white screen and locked. Pulled the battery and tried again. Worked for about 2 hrs. and then locked up. Froze on reboot and every time it is charge it locks. Tried to call Logitech support and after 10 min. of questions they wanted me to call extended support and pay for support during the device's 90 day limited warranty period. What a waste of time and money.

Other Thoughts: I would not recommend purchasing one of these as they don't work.

2 out of 5 eggsNot bad

Pros: Powerful and customizable

Cons: As a refurbished unit, it seems there is a strong likelyhood the unit you receive will not operate 100%

Other Thoughts: I decided to go with this because of Newegg's solid replacement policy after reading the reviews that many of these remotes apparently don't get checked well by the manufacturer when they are refurbished. I went through two of them before Newegg went out of stock and refunded my money. The first one was returned because the battery level indicator didn't operate properly. The replacement remote came with a battery that didn't even fit. The remote had a quality control passed sticker on it. Apparently the manufacturer's method of testing that doesn't involving actually powering the remote or using it.

As far as the operation of the remote, I thought the layout was pretty good, but not perfect for me. I learned I didn't care for the touch screen too much. I prefer real buttons for my remote so I don't have to look down at the remote. The touch screen was in a pretty good spot, so I didn't touch the screen accidently very often, but I did sometimes, and it was pretty frustrating.

I ended up going with the Harmony Smart Control and absolutely LOVE it. The basic remote it comes with is perfect in my opinion.

As usual, Newegg gets 5 eggs.

1 out of 5 eggsGreat remote, USED NOT REFUBISHED

Pros: I love this remote. I have installed nearly 30 of them for clients and every single person has loved them. The RF range is great. The configuration is pretty easy to get it exactly how you want.

Cons: I received a pretty obviously used remote, not refurbished. It worked fine for about 40 days, then I started getting a white screen mid use.

Other Thoughts: A few reflashes of the firmware and a new battery later, I called Logitech to get it repaired/replaced. They said they no longer make this model and asked if their new smart remote product would be an acceptable replacement. Sorry Logitech, no. A smart phone app is not an acceptable replacement for a single physical remote with a screen on it. I have been arguing about it for a week with them and have gotten no-where. I miss the old Logitech. I could buy anything with their name and know I was getting quality and great support behind it. They even replaced one of my headsets out of warranty. That Logitech seems to be gone now.

1 out of 5 eggsMissing accessories

Pros: Good remote overall - had I received all the accessories that came with it

Cons: Missing the battery, and the two RF adaptors, and one power supply. Got a completely different IR base. I'm guessing the person who returned it didn't return everything. Newegg really needs to check before sending out refurbished products.

5 out of 5 eggsthe 900 ROCKS

Pros: Works with all my devises; Yamaha AV receiver, Cisco PVR, BR. The software is great, finds all devices and programs the remote--adjustments can be made and uploaded to remote via old style USB. Quick search online and found icons for my favorites designed just for the 900—way cool.
Remote wakes up with motion, and if for some reason something did not turn-on or turn-off, just hit Help and this thing Learns so next time one button click to power up or down. Off button is on the top left. Wife LOVES this remote and she is not easy to impress with tech stuff!

Had purchased from (big auction website) $107 but did not have RF and after x3 replacements I just gave up. Went with another manufacture and software and remote was not as refined as the 900 and that one was returned. Decided to try Newegg with x2yr warranty for $25, just in case remote ends up in the water!

Had read that Harmony users do not like the new Logitech products and that the 900 is the one—so true. Sure hope Logitech gets it right with whatever their new release will be.

Thanks Newegg for getting it here in x2 days. My wife does not have to sit in front of plasma without being able to turn it on anymore!

Cons: Nope

Other Thoughts: No good upgrade replacement form Logitech yet

4 out of 5 eggsSeems like new

Pros: Lowest price I've seen anywhere
Fast and free shipping
Works perfectly
Easy setup, however it will take a few times to tweak things to your liking after you become more familiar with the remote
Looks great, the whole family assumed it was new
Extremely simple to use for even the least tech savvy person you know
RF!!
I never purchase any tech without tons of research into the device, its competition and its reviews. My home theater room is not very large or complex and all the seating seems to be in direct line with my devices (I cut apart an old wooden dresser to make an entertainment center with all my components, nothing is out of sight or covered by cabinets) so I was heavily leaning toward a cheaper remote without RF. I've had good experiences with neweggs return/replacement policy in the past so I gambled on this refurb unit when I found this deal and so happy I did. RF is THE coolest thing about this remote. Controls EVERYTHING in my room by just pressing a button, doesn't matter where its facing. Very happy I went this route and I'll never go back to a normal remote after having this for 3 months.

Cons: As my first universal remote I don't have anything to compare this to, Everyone seems to scoff at the lack of sequences, which seems like a cool feature and I was worried I'd have trouble without it, but I don't mind. Those with larger setups might prefer a remote that has them.
I would however like to be able to rearrange the order of the devices in the device menu. When in the watch tv or play ps3 activities, I occasionally will hit 'devices' to turn on/off my lights or air conditioner, and it takes a page or 2 of scrolling through the devices to get to it. Not a huge issue and I've since learned that it's possible to program those functions to a hard button on the remote so its not a problem for me anymore(unless I want to say change the temp on ac or settings of the lights, then back to annoying device menu). Again, just seems like a simple issue that may bother other users if they have too many devices and not enough patience.
Last con is the pictures on the touchscreen. Any activity or device programmed has a name + picture next to it that you can change, but you have to use Logitechs pre-programmed photos. These pictures also come into place when choosing favorite channels, but you're now allowed to upload custom photos. I found websites that have tons of channel specific pics to download and use for your remote, but none with activity or device pics because Logitech doesn't allow you to use custom ones for some reason.
This is sort of annoying for me because my computer is a device (they do have a pc pic for devices) but my activity labeled "Use Computer" has the picture of a dvd player next to it. Slightly annoying to look at but at least I was able to change the name of the activity and it does what I want it to.

Other Thoughts: Any cons I can think of are EXTREMELY minor details that have to do with the remote itself, not with this refurbish deal that newegg offers. I see many people receiving broken units and all I have to say is, if you look into this remote and decide you like it, buy it here and have patience. Newegg will replace it until they get it right and you'll have saved $150 on a fantastic remote. My first one came in the original box with everything in it and no signs of previous use, everything was clean and wrapped in plastic. No real complaints so far and I'm not worried as I bought the extended warranty for an extra $20.

One last thing to add, I've seen on many reviews from other sites that people like the charging cradle cuz they always know where to find the remote. However, the batteries are not meant to be overcharged like that. They will eventually expand and if left in the remote too long after that will not only destroy the battery but the entire unit and I've seen on a few forums that Logitech considers that the owners fault and not a malfunction so no replacement. Charge it when it needs to and keep it safe and off the cradle when it doesn't.

3 out of 5 eggsShould be sold as Used

Pros: Device's technology is impressive. Functions well for most part.

Cons: Device accessories have significant scratches and look as if they were pulled out of the trash. Manufacturer won't provide support unless a "small" fee is paid.

Other Thoughts: Contacted Logitech Support with an issue and they said my device has been registered to three other people in the past. They wouldn't support the device without charging a fee. Refurbished in common terms presumes certain minimum standards, one being the expectation that you can still get support on a purchased product. I've purchased many refurbished products in the past from Newegg and all were in impressively good shape, but it seems someone has lowered the bar. Disappointed.....

1 out of 5 eggsDon't Bother

Pros: Don't know can't get it to work

Cons: Unit will not update when hooked to computer

Other Thoughts: I rma'd my first one. I hooked it to my computer and ran the Logitech Software to upload commands to it and received a bad region error. The unit they sent back says repaired but it does exactly the same thing. Can't use this piece of garbage and newegg has not responded to my request for an rma for the most recent unit. Don't waste your money!

1 out of 5 eggsNOT Refurbished

Pros: The build of the devices themselves seems good quality. Preliminary tests of the remote itself seems to function correctly.

Cons: The device is NOT refurbished. The definition of refurbished is that the device is tested to ensure complete proper functionality. One of the two AC adapters the unit came with (one for charging the remote and one for powering the blaster) did not work. Also, the device wasn't even cleaned before boxing it up. Besides the scratches and scuffs all over the unit, there was dirt, grime all over the keys and screen.

Other Thoughts: I contacted Newegg about the issues. They offered me an RMA. I am waiting to see if they can just replace the defective part. We'll see what happens, but I am extremely disappointed with this purchase, and with Newegg.
