5 out of 5 eggsPerfect Remote

Pros: This remote is easy to program, is totally feature filled, well balanced, and feels solid. I love that it has a backlight. I've been able to easily replace all of my remotes with this single one which, of course, was the objective.

I debated getting this one or one with a larger screen. I'm glad I got this one... the screen only tells you which device you have selected and provides some feedback during programming, but that is all that is necessary.

Cons: I wish that the remote came with more programming built-in. I had to 'train' the remote for a couple of my devices. I suppose this should be expected though...

1 out of 5 eggsno yamaha receiver support

Pros: Easy to setup for my TV (LG LCD)

Cons: No support for Yamaha receiver - tried all 3 methods with no results.

Other Thoughts: I bought this to replace my Harmony which is wearing out after 2 years. Since I don't use most of the features on the Harmony I decided this remote should work since it had macro capability but its useless if it can't control my Yamaha receiver.

5 out of 5 eggsNice remote...

Pros: Quickly and easily accepts learned commands from other remotes, all buttons can be reprogrammed, strong IR signal, non-slip coating on back, uses AAA batteries, can do macro commands up to 50 steps and it doesn't "freeze up" at random like my more expensive Logitech harmony 550.

Cons: I would like it to have 2 additional buttons, skip ahead and skip back, which are common on DVR type devices. I had to program those functions to unused buttons at the bottom of the keypad.

Other Thoughts: This remote is very good for a system that uses 8 or less components. It is relatively simple and reliable. The IR transmission strength is excellent. I can point it over my shoulder in the opposite direction and it still works with my DVR that is at floor level 15 feet away behind plexiglass. Much better that the original remote and much better than the overpriced malfunctioning logitech that I smashed out of frustration.
