3 out of 5 eggsgood so far, but som gotchas

Pros: Picture better than I expected. I have them facing to outdoors thru a window. Street light front shows good. Back of house with flood light is good as well. No it's not night vision, but I can see pretty well.
Software: just okay. Would be better if I could use my old camera with it that I moved to a different non key area, but only shows Trendnet models as available. (Software with other camera didn't work with Trendnet either. I think there's a conspiracy.) Software only allows for 180 degrees flip, which makes bracket a fail.
Bracket. Up or down, can't mount on side because software won't flip that way. Plus software not smart enough to modify pan/tilt controls if image is flipped.
Bracket also really only allows camera to be mounted one way.
So minus 1 for software
Minus 1 for bracket.

Cons: software okay, but needs more work
Brackets, no options, mount on bracket one way and mount on wall/celing

Other Thoughts: I'd buy another for the sale price, and already put an alert for that price.

1 out of 5 eggsNot as advertised

Pros: Good Picture for Network camara

Cons: Does not work on internet, It is a network camara. The app for your phone cant record sound unless you upgrade it so thats not free.
I bought this to see the office from home, you cant do that with this camara.

Other Thoughts: I am sure some can access their network from home and then be able to use it in the way the "internet camera" suggests.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello Gator,

The TV-IP651W can be accessed remotely over the Internet. The camera and your router must be configured properly to allow access to the camera from a remote location. Specifically, you will need to forward the port the camera used, default TCP port 80, to the camera in your router. From a remote location you would access it using the public IP address on your router. Your router will then forward the connection to the camera. If you need assistance with the camera settings please email Adrian@trendnet.com and we will have someone assist you as soon as possible. Please include your contact information and a link to this review.

Regards,

Adrian

4 out of 5 eggsGood Value but...

Pros: This is great camera for the money! The iPhone apps is good. Better apps than the cloud edition camera

Cons: You will need to know how to do port forwarding. Doesn't do night vision.

I have the cloud vision as well and is a lot easier to setup! No port forwarding to figure out. The cloud version has night vision which is what makes it much better than this camera!

Other Thoughts: Is good value but lack of night vision really put this camera off...

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Price is VERY reasonable for a PTZ IP CAM. You don't get a PTZ IP camera with such price

Cons: NOT for such price

Other Thoughts: I purchased two of these cameras for a very specific purpose. They are used indoors and I have no need for stored video in this use, I just need to be able to see what the camera is looking at from where ever I happen to be. For this purpose at the price point they were at the camera is near perfect.

2 out of 5 eggsGood while it worked

Pros: I really liked the camera when it was working. For the price (on sale), it's was a good camera. Pan and zoom, night vision, and resolution pretty good. I was about to purchase a second camera when this one died.

Cons: Quit working after 2 1/2 months and I'm required to pay return shipping. Six days later and I'm still awaiting a so called return call from customer service.

Manufacturer Response:

2 out of 5 eggsTotally Worthless

Pros: Initially does all that it says it will do.

Cons: This camera only connects for a few hours at a time. I've connected it via wireless and network cable. The camera, once setup, will seem to run fine for three or four hours, after which it becomes unresponsive.

Once it becomes unresponsive, you can occasionally restart it to get it working again, but usually, you have to pull it, perform a hard reset, then configure it all over again.

I've spent hours with this camera troubleshooting the issues, but it simply will not stay connected via wireless or network cables.

Other Thoughts: Buy a better camera than this one.
