4 out of 5 eggsGood camera, easy to mod

Pros: Good cameras, I have 3 of them.

Cons: 1 cam was stalling every few hours, took it apart and reseated everything now it seems OK.

Sometimes they go dead and need a reboot, not a huge deal just annoying.

Other Thoughts: Fun thing about these cameras is the IR glass over the lense. Pop the camera apart (voids warranty) and unscrew the lense, you'll see a tiny bit of glass with a red sheen. Get a pin or tweezers and pop it off, reassemble the camera and wire in some IR leds (either external or internal) and voila you have a daytime.nighttime camera. Mine covers my front door, backyard and side of the house (get creative to mod them for outdoor use).

4 out of 5 eggsGood Cam

Pros: Camera works perfectly right out of the box. Easy setup.

Cons: Manual didn't go into much detail, however Trendnet has very detailed and helpful youtube videos.

Other Thoughts: Great Camera for a beginner, I set mine up for motion detection, and to email/text me a photo, works like a charm. Note- in the settings under "Motion Detection" if you are getting a white screen, press "compatibility mode" in IE.

1 out of 5 eggs No Hotmail, Yahoo or Gmail support

Pros: Cheap camera for decent daytime surveillance in medium traffic locations. Small footprint.

Cons: What no support for common e-mail. Only Internet Explorer web compliant. There is NO support to e-mail activity. So plan on dedicating PC cycles to record events. The software is cryptic and mobile support is nonexistent. i loaded the on my iPad and would never connect to camera and they are on same network. No auto focus so plan to have a laptop near to confirm your setup location and coverage. Setup is seamless for the most part but setting up your alarm triggers is not easy.

Other Thoughts: If you are building a monitoring station for daytime surveillance this is the perfect start because when the lights go out. They are useless. The fact that you are only Internet Explorer ActiveX connective if you are using a MAC there is No support. But you are getting what you are paying for.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat camera

Pros: This camera is worth every penny as long as you have it installed in a place where there is always light available. It does not have Infra Red lighting. So when you turn off the lights it is pitch black. Again it is an excellent camera as long as there is light in the room.

Cons: No light in the room will get you a black screen. Really dark

1 out of 5 eggsreburbished? I can't tell.

Pros: I own 1 other 110wn and a pair of 100n trendnet cameras. They are pretty good (the 100n has incredible low lux picture and the 110wn has great framerate, 5-15fps and sound built in). The 100n has lower framerate (2-5fps over internet)

Cons: This unit is defective. The video freezes and then becomes unresponsive (java applet shows white box). Does not stream to phone although my other cameras do fine. I tried both wireless and ethernet and it still does the same. The network is setup and I'm able to change all settings (over wifi or ethernet). I can even reboot it and I flashed firmware but it still locks up. My retail 110wn does not do this, it's rock solid. I took a chance on a reburbished unit since I spent around 70$ on my last one but there is obviously a reason they are selling for 30$ ea. Buyer beware, there doesn't seem to be any quality control on the reburbs.

Other Thoughts: I'm going to call Newegg and do something I rarely have to do... RMA a purchase. Thank goodness for the standard return policy and Newegg's excellent customer service. I'm positive they will take care of me as always. I'm just disappointed that I won't be getting a 2nd 110wn to play with (cause this is definitely gonna be a refund). Oh well, I've bought thousands of $$ worth of stuff from Newegg and it's very rare I get burned so chalk it up to bad luck.

1 out of 5 eggsWireless Does Not Work

Pros: okay resolution, price, wired functionality

Cons: Wireless DOES NOT WORK, worthless documentation, bad software, flimsy hardware

Other Thoughts: I have an old wired Trendnet camera, and I use it to email me whenever the motion detector would trigger. It works very well for this purpose. I wanted another camera to serve a similar function, but wireless so I wouldn't have to string cat5 throughout my house.

I bought the Trendnet TV-IP110WN since I had familiarity with the brand. My network setup is not out of the oridinary. I use a very popular router (Netgear WNDR3700), and I consider myself competent setting up network equipment.

I followed the limited documentation and connected the camera directly to my router and got it setup so I it would perform in the exact same way as my old wired Trendnet model. Now came the frustrating part. I could not, for the life of me, get this camera working wirelessly on my network.

I have no idea where the problem is. The green light is blinking indicating that it is working, however, I cannot establish a connection to the camera. I disabled all my network security to see if that was causing the issue. Rebooted everything. No luck. Tried WPS, but it did not work at all. As soon as I reconnected the cat-5 cable I could access the configuration page again. The closest I ever got was setting everything up and then unplugging the cat-5 cable. I would still be connected, and I could see the Live View updating, however, as soon as I power cycled the camera (per the instructions) it would not reconnect to my network, and I could not access the camera again until I plugged the cat-5 back in. All the settings to match my network were correct. I tried this at least 20 times. In fact, I tried it so much the hardware reset button stopped working. Another testament to the flimsy hardware.

The documentation left a lot to be desired, and was no help diagnosing my problem. Trendnet's web site had no additional documentation, and I was using the latest firmware.

I spent a a good 10-12 hours this weekend trying to get this working the way it's supposed to, but no luck. I cannot return it, only get a replacement. In my estimation it is just a combination of poor hardware and software and I do not want to waste another minute (let alone another weekend) with this product. This will be the last Trendnet product I ever purchase.

Manufacturer Response:
