4 out of 5 eggsGood Product

Pros: -Price
-Easy App on Android (Android Tablet)
-Image quality is good enough to see face features

Cons: -Very thick cable (image made it look a little smaller)
-Setting up camera for Mobile access requires network knowledge or someone who has network experience.
-Poor Zoom controls (It only zooms in one spot

Other Thoughts: I had to take off an egg for the network setup. I have average network knowledge, and it took me 5-7 hours of researching on Google while also checking out the manual. They seriously need to either add more pages, or just link a video. Not everyone uses a TRENDnet router with easy instructions.

4 out of 5 eggs1st night

Pros: I did not install any of the software. It may be fine, but it does not fit any of my requirements. I used the web admin interface.

I used my router to get the camera's DHCP address, and opened that address in a browser. I then gave it a static IP, and noticed the "Snapshot" link on it's web app. Tracing that through led me to the large and small jpg snapshots. I added those static URLs to my Vera Lite Z-Wave controller, and exposed the camera via a DMZ for quickie bookmarked jpeg access.

I will play with adding RTSP and alerts/events this weekend. The documentation is good. The packaging was good. So far, this has been a very good experience.

Cons: I could not yet get it to do the firmware upgrade, which kind of concerns me. I have a support ticket in, and will address this in this review if I can't get it resolved. I'm pretty optimistic though.

I also had inconsistent results with password changes. That may be to caching. I will look at that closer after the firmware upgrade.

Other Thoughts: I'm going with 4 stars now because this was easy. If it continues to work and I can get the firmware upgraded, I'll upgrade to 5 stars.

2 out of 5 eggsToo many connectors!

Pros: easy to setup and get running

Cons: Too many connectors on the end of the cable. I had to drill a huge hole to fit them where they needed to go.

Pros: This device HAS acceptable network performance. I found a BAD piece of network cable in my home network that caused the problem.
Here's an operational tip: To use this device using your web browser, and enjoy all it's features, place this device in your web browser's "Trusted Sites" listing.

4 out of 5 eggsBest ever

Pros: Great day and night performance. Nice picture. Unlike other IR cameras the colors look good and clouds look real. No need for weird Java plugins. Nice price. Supports ONVIF.

Cons: IPv6 busted, at least with RA's. No easy way to turn off the IR LEDs. Poorly thought out cable system, what am I suppose to do with all those pigtails up on a mast?

Some bugs in the web GUI.

Other Thoughts: I have had a lot of IP Cameras, this one was the easiest to setup and has the best picture by far.

1 out of 5 eggsDifficult to program

Pros: None.

Cons: This camera is not user friendly in any way. Do not expect to take the camera out of the box, plug it into a POE port and have it set up. You have to install the camera user guides and software from the CD. I have spent days trying to get the password to work. I Finally have the camera working on Trendnetview Pro but have never been able to get the password to work on my android phone. I have unistalled and reinstalled the app. I have installed it on my tablet. The password does not work on either. BUT I downloaded another brand app on the phone and the password works fine and I can see the video. There is not enough info in any one of the user guides to program the camera. Camera User Guide, Software User Guide then there is the browser camera program. I still have not figured out how to see the camera on the Browser Live software. There is no clear start here on step 1, then 2, etc. Very frustrated.

Other Thoughts: I have worked with both Computer and Telephone System software for many years. I purchased two of the cameras, returned one to Newegg and I am going to trash the other if I cant get it to work by starting all over with it one more time.

Pros: Decent video and many tweaks available.

Cons: My unit had much trouble driving 40 feet of new CAT6 network cable. Worked fine on the bench with short cables, but no-go at the installed location. Could not use POE due to this, and had to install a network switch within 8 feet of the camera in order to drive the CAT6 network cable with TCP/IP. That worked.

Other Thoughts: Good unit otherwise.

Manufacturer Response:

We are sorry hear that you had an issue with the TV-IP302PI. I just pulled out a unit and tested it with a stock 100ft cable that included with our NVR and it was able to power it without issue. Please email and we will have a support representative assist you. Please include a link to this review.

5 out of 5 eggsVery nice camera for the price

Pros: Easy set up
Tons of connections available
Very solid
Can easily be reset

Cons: Cables should be run through the base of the camera.

Other Thoughts: A larger CMOS sensor would be nice.
