4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: A very good camera for those who want just check your place wile is away, or just check the kids home.

Cons: Very easy to install thru the router or WiFi and work perfect in my computers, my cellular (android) with iCloud and I have full control of the camera from my cellular or computer.
If you are not craze with quality of the video, I recommend this one. I just bought the DCS-5029L R, that have a HD 720p, and is a lot of better.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Review

- Night vision is very good for this price point
- Configuring the settings for using software other than the D-Link cloud is very flexible.
- This camera has a lot of capability.
- Price!

Cons: Review

- 640x480, there are better camera's out there but for the price of this unit you can't really complain.
- They are obviously security type cameras, they don't "blend" at all and if you notice it you will know right away what it is.

Other Thoughts: Review

- I use these in my home and they are obviously there, some people notice them and others don't.
- They are good camera's for the price, but do have short comings.

5 out of 5 eggsYou can't ask for better at this price

Pros: This camera is full of features and I love it. It has everything you could ask for in a security camera and the best part is the price!! I bought four.

Cons: One of my cameras loses configuration once a month or so...don't know why. It is like auto-factory reset. I have to unmount the camera and reconfigure. It is very difficult to talk to Dlink support since wait time is usually exceptionally long....hours and hours. There was no answer on Dlink community forum either.

Manufacturer Response:

We want to thank you for the feedback and we are sorry to hear that you are encountering difficulties with one of your cameras. Please make sure you have downloaded and installed the latest firmware on that camera. If you are still experiencing issues we advise you to contact us for assistance by calling 1-877-453-5465. Thank you for being a D-Link customer.

2 out of 5 eggs0.3 megapixels, really?

Pros: PTZ works well, android app works well, communication is also good. Works, just dont have high expectations.

Cons: resolution is poor, at 10 feet it is hard to make out a smile or frown, at 15 feet forget it. sure at 4 feet you get a pretty picture but really what do you need a PTZ for then? The Apple app is very bad, the "Main Console" program that gives you lots of features is very buggy, some features work, and some don't and this changes on each PC. Tech support ?? Nice people but a speaking and comprehension test should be required. Sorry, but i shouldnt have to repeat myself 3 times ever so slowly for these folks to understand.

Other Thoughts: with a market full of high megapixel image sensors you wonder why do they use a low resolution image sensor in this PTZ. with a better sensor this could be a nice camera

Manufacturer Response:

We appreciate the feedback as we truly value the input and we are sorry to hear that you are dissatisfied with your purchase. D-Link advises you to download and install the latest firmware from www.support.dlink.com. In addition make sure you have selected the highest resolution in the cameras settings. To do that, log into the cameras web interface and click on "Video" located under that "Setup" tab and select the highest resolution and FPS. Just be aware that the higher the quality, the more resources it will take up in your network. You can also call us at 1-877-453-5465 for further assistance. We thank you for choosing D-Link.

2 out of 5 eggsSetup Difficult

Pros: Construction quality seems to be good. Motors which move camera head are smooth and quiet. Image quality is okay . . . just.

Cons: I've spend more nine hours trying to get the bloody thing to connect to my wireless network and to the cloud through the browser. So far, cannot get the camera to connect and stream video. Be aware that it requires JAVA, despite recommendations of many security pros that JAVA be disabled because of security risks. Also received error msgs that the application cannot be installed on AMD systems. Overall, not pleased at all with this purchase and would definitely recommend against it. I bought two of them; will try further to get them up and running and will return if cannot. I'm not optimistic.

1 out of 5 eggsJunk

Pros: long power cord

Cons: Horrible image. Horrible software. Horrible screaming hash noise audio; full blast every time I access the camera.
.
I swear -- if there was a cow in my living room, I wouldn't be able to tell.

Other Thoughts: Buy something else

Manufacturer Response:

We want to thank you for the feedback as we greatly appreciate the input and we are sorry to hear that you are dissatisfied with the product. Please make sure you have selected the highest resolution (640x480) in your camera's settings. (Note that higher settings offer better quality, but will require more bandwidth to stream). Regarding the issue with the audio, if you log into your camera's settings and click on the "Audio" tab located under "Setup", you will be able to adjust the volume setting to suit your needs. In addition, we always suggest that you download and install the latest firmware from www.support.dlink.com. If you are still experiencing issues and need assistance, feel free to contact our technical support team by calling 1-877-453-5465. Thank you for choosing D-Link.

4 out of 5 eggsHappy

Pros: Viewing from your mobile phone is a nice feature.

Creates for peace of mind when I am away from home working late.

Cons: It will occasionally disconnect, which freaks me out sometimes.

Motion detection is alittle too sensitive. It seems that it will send me a warning message with just even a flicker of light.

Other Thoughts: I recommend to purchase two cameras. I have two dlink ip cameras, each a different model and in different rooms. In case one disconnects, then I switch to the other.

Eats up mobile phone data so remember to turn on your wifi.

Manufacturer Response:

We want to thank you for the feedback and are glad to hear you are happy with your purchase. To fix your motion detection problem, we advise you to change the level of sensitivity. To do this, log into the camera's settings and click on "Motion Detection" tab located in "Setup". Here you can adjust the motion detection sensitivity to fit your optimal use. If you have any more issues feel free to contact us for assistance by calling 1-977-453-5465. Thank you for being a D-Link customer.
