2 out of 5 eggsWireless stopped working after firmware 2.0 upgrade

Pros: When working it's okay, ... for the price. I bought two and after initial set up I could get both working using wireless and I could set up to monitor both using my cellphone.

Cons: - Movement detection? Trying to adjust so many ways, it would detect anything and keep sending snapshots (fill up your storage unnecessarily). I could send both FTP and email.
- Updated firmware upon purchase to 1.22, it worked. Then I learned upgrade 2.0 available, BUT, it says you need to reset, so I thought it's okay, I bought two, I'll just display the other settings can cut & paste. BTW, I always upgrade wire connected. Now, the one with 2.0 firmware won't connect to my wireless after I finished upgrading). My router (Airport Extreme) log says "maybe caused by wrong passwrod". I repeated the upgrade/reset, still can't connect. I got my cellphone to delete the connection profile, reconnect, enter the password, it got connected. So, no, I got the password right. So, it's either by sheer coincidence the wireless H/W got broken during upgrade to 2.0, or, the 2.0 firmware is bad, and so my choice right now is waiting for, hopefully, a better working firmware, or, if I could find a copy of the old 1.22 firmware. I'm keeping the other one at firmware 1.22.

Other Thoughts: For those who are curious and couldn't find using google: decide an arbitrary port (say, 12345), find out your ic-3115w ip in your router setting, set up to keep that ip tied to the camera mac address, create a forwarding from that port to port 80 of your camera ip, find your external router ip (use tracemyip of something), and you can monitor your camera using your router external ip and that 12345 port.

Pros: Good picture when it's working.

Cons: I have 3 of these, all of them lock up constantly. Need to reboot them daily to keep getting pics. Firmware upgrade didn't help.

It will show you all the wireless networks in your area. Please check the channel number of your wireless networks and other wireless networks. If possible, avoid using the same channel with your neighbors and use only channel 1, 6, or 11 which are the only channel not over lapping with each other.

Pros: Good high resolution video, compact size, no wireless issues so far.

Cons: No matter what I do, I can't make it send email.
There is no way to schedule ftp or email photos and I don't want to build a mechanical device to pass in front of the lens on schedule.

EVERY IP camera has scheduled photos, except this one. All of my other IP cameras can ftp photos to my website or send me email photos on schedule.

Other Thoughts: This would be a great camera if it had scheduling in addition to motion detection.

I bought two more before I found the email issue. I hope the other two work.

Pros: Image quality is fantastic - great wide angle view. Works well with Blue Iris software.

Cons: No night vision and frame rate is too low at the highest resolution but I'm sure that varies depending on location of router/power of computer.

Other Thoughts: I had trouble with it initially where it would not stay connected to the router and had to be re-started every couple days. After a firmware update, it has since been rock solid and I've had it outside (on my porch) running 24/7 for six months now - through 100 degree and 0 degree days and it's not even recommended for outside use (of course I have it protected from water). I've just ordered a couple more. Thanks Newegg!!

Pros: It does work

Cons: Poor resolution and very slow with perhaps 1 frame per second or worse. More like watching a photo!

Other Thoughts: Don't buy if you want to watch live video. More like taking pictures every second or 2

Pros: Clear picture, easy setup, nice mount

Cons: Locks up after a few hours, requires a power cycle to restart it.
Doing a firmware upgrade on one bricked it.

Other Thoughts: No email response from support after 24 hours, so don't know if these cameras will ever work.

Pros: Nice Case

Cons: Would not stay connected to the wireless router 10' away.
Useless for security. You must unplug and re-plug in the camera to get it to reconnect. Dropped out daily.

Pros: Small, good video, uncomplicated setup menu.

Cons: Won't connect to my wireless network, but works well with a wired network.
I've already wasted too much time with this camera. Doesn't any manufacturer have quality control anymore?
The antenna is permanently attached. I cannot attach a higher gain antenna or use it in an outdoor camera housing due to the need to connect to an external antenna on the housing.

Other Thoughts: Yes, I am using MAC address filtering. My other 17 cameras (various manufacturers) work well with that. Manual setup and the included software setup will not make the camera connect to my wireless network.
I give up!!

Sorry that you can not make our IC-3115W wirelessly connect to your network.

There are two things that you may want to try.
1. Turn off the MAC Address Filtering in your router and see if the camera can connect to your Wi-Fi network.
2. Verify the MAC address of IC-3115W. Go to the command prompt and ping the IP address of the IC-3115W. Enter the ARP command as "arp -a" which will show the physical address (MAC address) of the camera. Enter that MAC address into your router.

Pros: pros? its not working at all now. even the manufacturers software is freezing up...

Cons: oh you mean the pros?? I can't appreciate something if the cons outweigh the pros. I tried using the software to walk through installation after the camera wouldn't connect wirelessly I tried ispy software it was no help either

Other Thoughts: I hate RMA's, I paid for a working product and didn't receive something robust enough for the end user to work even the ipad app isn't working. I guess I'm not special

We have two utilities for Windows computer. One is EdiView Finder Utility which is used to detect and setup the camera. The other utility is IPCam Surveillance software which will monitor up to 16 cameras at the same time. This IPCam Surveillance software requires more memory of computer. May we assume that you have troubles with this Surveillance software?

We need to know more information regarding the wireless setup issue. Do you hide the SSID of your Wi-Fi network? Do you enable the wireless mac filter settings in your router?
