1 out of 5 eggsWifi nightmare

Pros: Works well except for constant interference. Easy to use.

Cons: Wireless internet interference. It took a while to figure out how it was interfering with my wifi. The interference would cause the wifi to drop for a few minutes then come back. Instructions are pretty poor.

2 out of 5 eggsWorks but Finish faded quickly

Pros: Item seems to work better than the one that other Newegg users have experienced

Cons: The finish on the outdoor unit has faded and cracked after just about 1 month of use. The unit is even placed in the shade and away from the weather so this should not have happened.

Other Thoughts: none

1 out of 5 eggsDO NOT BUY

Pros: Honeywell name

Cons: JUNK, JUNK, JUNK Video died after about 15 minutes. Hadn't even finished installing. Outdoor unit is huge and mounting at doorbell level is incredibly obtrusive. Plus the "guest" merely has to put their hand over the dome to defeat the purpose. For a decent camera angle and view the unit needs to be mounted higher, using only the IR trigger.

Other Thoughts: Consider that the outdoor video unit, including the camera operates on batteries only (unless you run a dedicated low-voltage circuit from a transformer-not included). Can't imagine the batteries will last if you get a lot of activity at your door.

OK, I should have known better. Got carried away with an early-morning Shell-Shocker. Returned for refund, but the return shipping still pained me. Don't make my mistake.

1 out of 5 eggsDo not buy Honeywell home-consumer products...

Pros: ...because the Honeywell Corporation refuses to answer any technical inquiries regarding the product. This product is clearly designed to be installed by the homeowner but they tell you to hire an installer if you have any questions. This is inappropriate and shows clearly that the corporation does not supply support for its products. I cannot recommend that you purchase their products.

Cons: This item lacks instructions although these can be found on the Internet through the Honeywell website. The installation is certainly not impossible for an average-to-technical person but is somewhat complex and frustrating. Other reviewers noted frequent quality-control issues with this product. Overall, I would not recommend it in spite of the very fair price Newegg has on it.

5 out of 5 eggsmight be too complex for some

Pros: The unit works as advertized, however I founded the included rechargeable batteries were marginal for operating this device. Replace NiMh batteries before using this unit. Use at least 2000 ah cells. Got another one on the way for my parents. I think its a good deal.

Cons: Manufacturer should have not included batteries if they were not adequate.

1 out of 5 eggsGarbage

Pros: none

Cons: - contactless battery charger doesn't work sometimes.... which is great for a security device

- forget about setting the settings, it will just revert to what it wants

Other Thoughts: why I didn't return this piece of crappe from the get go, I'll never know. I Suppose that the name Honeywell just had me hoping that it would work.... NOT

1 out of 5 eggsthink twice

Pros: good concept and works as a wireless door bell

Cons: The strobe light kept blinking regardless of which settings I used. It was very annoying. This item is pretty big to hang in front of the door or door frame. If mounted, this will be quite a challenge changing the batteries.

Other Thoughts: It seems to work for some, thus I think there is a QA issue with this product. Find something else, a wireless camera, and a wireless door bell, instead of something that promises everything and not deliver.

1 out of 5 eggsPoor quality

Pros: None

Cons: Did not work. The first one I had, the camera/transmitter could not connect to the base/receiver. This was returned for a replacement. The RMA replacement had an issue with the camera unit. It had been assembled incorrectly at the factory. I gave up and got a refund.

Other Thoughts: Newegg was awesome!

1 out of 5 eggsbatteries and display DOA

Pros: Features, Honeywell name and neutral color of camera unit got me to buy it. Ultimately I got the chime did work, but display never did.

Cons: NiMh batteries in receiver were DOA and unit would not charge them. Replaced the batteries with new. With new batteries the receiver and transmitter would pair and the chime worked. However the TFT display on receiver never lit up even though receiver indicated good batteries.
RMAed it for a refund.

Other Thoughts: BTW the receiver unable to charge symptom is charge light blinks twice slowly and then rapidly - regular charging is just slow blink.
