1 out of 5 eggsCan't figure it out

Pros: Worked with Comcast perfectly!

Cons: Won't work with DSL set up. I just can't figure it out.

Other Thoughts: I can't seem to figure out the disconnect. I'm using the same router that I used with cable but now just because we moved to a new place that only has DSL (Century Link.) It won't connect... even with the patch cord I can't get in. The IP finder finds it but won't connect to it. Nothing works and I'm going bonkers trying to figure this out. I tried changing the IP, and the patch cable. nothing works.
It has to be some kind of conflict since it worked good in the beginning.

2 out of 5 eggsDecent Camera/Terrible SW

Pros: Price
Picture Quality up to Expectations

Cons: Support
SW

Other Thoughts: Purchased this camera to keep an eye on my car parked in the driveway so having a capability to take pictures/video when motion was detected was key. Read the reviews and was aware that IE was required for this functionality. This is due to camera's requirement for ActiveX; poor decision on Rosewill's part but did not affect me as I have a copy that I never use but could use to setup motion detection.

Once I received the product, I was excited to set it up, and although I run a network with a hidden SSID, connecting it to wireless was not an issue. The issue I came across was that the camera would not take any pictures through the setup GUI ("Snapshot Failed" message would blink on the browser and go away), nor video (OS pop up error message).

In addition I was unable to register the device to Rosewill's 'cloud solution' (C4mi) as the message 'Device Offline' would appear when I tried registering device with the code provided.

I went on Rosewill's website in order to call support but trying to find the number proved fruitless. I settled for sending them a message, I'm still waiting to hear back on.

Eventually I read NewEgg user reviews and noticed that Rosewill is more responsive to those comments than the ones sent directly to their support department. So who knows maybe they read this and answer my messages.

In the meantime I have noticed that reviews recommend using iSpy SW which I have tried, and can report that it is very impressive. I will continue using it.

3 out of 5 eggsQuality is OK

Pros: Not a bad wireless camera. Easy to setup if connected by a cable and use the IP Finder software. When switching to wireless, you need to know your SSID and WEP key of your router to set it up to work on your wireless network. I didn't bother with the included software, I added it to my existing software, Blue Iris, that I have been running for several years.

Cons: Don't expect exceptional quality or high FPS. But for the price, you get what you pay for. I am using it indoors and appears to work fine.

1 out of 5 eggsNot so happy

Pros: video works

Cons: no audio, what I got is just static sound. This is the main reason I bought this cam.

5 out of 5 eggsGood for the price

Pros: It works during the day and night. The camera is setup inside pointing out the front window to the porch. Very pleased overall. During the day the sun came out and whited out the whole picture, but there was a setting for "outdoors" that I clicked and cleared the picture up. At night I have a porch light on and is enough to record about 20 from the house.

Cons: I didn't like the software so I am using ispy connect open source software.

Other Thoughts: You get 15 fps on vga, change it to a smaller resolution and it gets 30 fps. 15 is smooth enough for me. I am using it over Wi-Fi with no problems. The ispy connect software lets you select the areas on the screen that you want to detect motion and then it will record. The led on the front of the camera can be turned off by accessing the camera's software. If your looking for a decent camera for surveillance, this one will do the trick.

3 out of 5 eggsLimited setup allowed with Linux

Pros: Works. Affordable.
Portions of its features may be utilized with Linux + Firefox.

Cons: Requires Windows + Internet Explorer + proprietary ActiveX executables for Live Video and for Motion Detect features.
I emailed manufacturer before purchase inquiring about the necessity for Windows and they replied that Windows was not necessary. Wrong!

Other Thoughts: Using since August 08, 2013.
My primary requirement was for Motion Detection.
Had I been able to set and adjust the Motion Detect features without Windows, I would have given 5 stars.
The Motion Detection setup seems a little nicer than a
recently purchased Keebox IPC1000W N82E16881623002.

2 out of 5 eggsConnection Drops

Pros: Decent camera for the price. The audio is subpar, but you can't really expect that much for this price.

Cons: Unless the camera is a few feet from my wireless access point, the connection constantly drops, then reconnects. Sometimes it will work for hours, then suddenly, it'll stop broadcasting.

A power cycle sometimes fixes the problem, sometimes it doesn't.

Other Thoughts: I'm hoping that it's just a bad camera. I'm considering purchasing two more for their combo price of $80.

1 out of 5 eggsrosewill RSCM

Pros: none

Cons: This item takes you back at least ten years. Do you remember the very first router you tried to set up? Difficult to set up. Instructions are vague. We are in a world where plug and play and smartphone syncing are norm.
