Pros: Works fine, once in a while you have to just shut app off and re-open it - but that happens only if you have to change a rule.

Cons: not for free.. :)

Pros: Great idea - I like it when it works

Cons: Buggy software doesn't always work properly.

Other Thoughts: I received 2 of these for Christmas gifts. I used them for lights in my house that are not accessible by switches. This product is ideal for that type of situation. I've also got a brand new iPhone 5S which is loaded with the Belkin application. As another reviewer notes, sometimes the switches show up and sometimes they don't. And sometimes when they do show up I see a yellow icon swirling around the switch icon which means they can been seem but cannot be operated. When you want to switch something on or off, having to wait for something to load properly is very frustrating. Worse is when the switch doesn't show up at all.

I've only had the switches a little over a week, but the software failures have been numerous. Sometimes if I leave my iPhone alone for a couple of minutes the missing switch (or switches) will finally show up. Last night was not the case. Only 1 of 2 switches appeared in the software. I tried several things to get the missing switch to appear to no avail. I finally pulled the switch out of the electrical socket and reset it according to the manufacturer instructions. I then reinstalled the switch and so far, through today, it has worked. In the meantime I lost about 15 minutes messing around with it - that just shouldn't happen after initial setup.

For the record, one switch is located less than 5 feet from my main wireless router. The other switch is located 10 feet across the room from a wireless repeater in another location in my house. Both have very high WiFi signals so it's not the WiFi causing the problem, so I have to conclude, like another reviewer, it's buggy software. And both switches, regardless of location, have experienced problems.

I'd probably get more of these devices but not until Belkin addresses the apparent software issues.

2 out of 5 eggsThey need a little more work

Pros: They are a fun and fantastic device when they work.

Cons: I bought 2 sets of these for 2 different homes. I set them up, and at first they work great. Unfortunately, when you run the app, sometimes none of the switches show up, sometimes only half, and sometimes all of them. It is very intermittent and unpredicatable. It appears to be a software issue, and if Belkin would just figure out this bug and solve it, it would be a great device.

Pros: Will work, just cannot change after initial setup.

Cons: -Cannot change access point SSID they are associated with or they are effectively bricked locally

-Poor support, even with pay for incident premium support

Other Thoughts: Bought several WeMo switcheds set them up and worked fine.

Upgraded my wireless access point. Reset Wemo's and set them up again. Can now only control them via external network, not on local wireless net, although no errors in the setup of the devices. No devices are found locally after setup, just hangs.

Made numerous calls to support, and paid for Belkin Premium support. Have never reached anyone knowledgable about WeMo's. Only receive repetitive e-mails asking me to repeat the things I have already done.

Research on nthe net indicated that Belkin stores info about the Wireless access point the device is associated with on their servers. If you change the access point name it cannot be updated on their servers by the consumer.

You are also unable to reach anyone at Belkin to reset or correct the info. Am the not so proud owner of three semi-useless bricks call WeMo now....

Based on the support experience I have stopped by Belkin products as a rule..
