Pros: I found the camera easy to setup and use. Decent picture quality for what I needed. I also liked the function to email or FTP images or video.

Cons: I bought 6 and only two are still working. Some of the nonfunctional cameras have bad power adapters and others the camera is nonfunctional.

I'm looking for another camera to replace all 6.

Pros: Looks nice

Cons: Could not set up wireless mode and the installation CD provides absolutely no troubleshooting options - it just tells you to re-run the CD! Spent 2 hours on the phone with support, messed up my entire wireless LAN, still no luck! The irony is, I'm trying to set it up with a Linksys Wireless-N router - should be simple plug 'n play. Ghastly excuse for a product.

Pros: Decent image quality, small package/design, pretty good low light performance. Wired and wireless connectivity options.

Cons: A bit clunky to setup, but not difficult. The TZO Dynamic DNS restriction is pure bunk. Manual content in some areas was written by a dolt.

Other Thoughts: I have two of these and two trendnet wireless (512); the trendnet was easier to setup, but the image quality is lower. They are also a barrel design, which limits the mounting possibilities, while the Linksys is a donut style which can be tucked behind curtains, blinds, etc., with ease. The image quality is pretty good, fairly sharp and color accurate, while the trendnet is fuzzy and muted and cannot be accurately focused. Trendnet is easier to setup, but that doesn't really matter if the image quality is substandard. I'm going to get 2 more of these. They are currently writing to my NAS, along with my trendnet cameras; no need to flake out on motion activation, etc., as you can store the images on a NAS and delete what you don't want. There is also third party software that is very inexpensive that will index motion in your video so you only have to watch the index portion to see what was going on in the field of view.

Cons: This is hands down the worst electronic device I've ever purchased. Very bad support (hours on phone with no result). Very difficult to set up. Product simply does not work as advertised.

Pros: Extremely easy setup with the included CD
Nice design compared to other brand
Decent video quality

Cons: No screws included for wall mounting
No good motion detection triggered recording, basically limited choices for recording
No horizontal/vertical video mirror

Other Thoughts: The deal breaker here for me is the limited choice of the recording feature. It's either always record, or scheduled recording. No motion detection triggered recording to your samba drive. Although there is an option to send you a small clip to email/ftp whenever motion is detected. Not as good as I'd want. (Depends what you're looking for)

But there is an utility you can download on the official product page, it allows more recording choices.. And unfortunately you'll need to have a PC always running to record with that software.

I currently have 2 dcs-1130 at home. They're pretty ugly and expensive, but they have a little bit more options than the wvc80n.. Wish I could combine them both for an almost perfect IP camera!

Final thoughts: The wvc80n is a decent camera for starters. Though there are cheaper IP cameras available if it's too expensive. I'd say most of them have decent video quality. Also, you won't find cameras with good night vision for cheap!

Pros: I was easily able to set this camera up. It had no problem connecting to my existing WiFi network. If the room has adequate lighting, the picture is great.

Cons: For low light room (even those with a night light in them) the picture was dark or just simly black. Also the delay when you view the images through the rtsp service had an extreme delay (longer than I was willing to wait when using this as a baby monitor).

Other Thoughts: Good piece of hardware. The software was ok. Lots of features to play with.

Pros: Setup is pretty easy

Cons: Freezes, Unreliable, Faulty, The software is horrible

Other Thoughts: I have 3 cameras in my apartment, and everyday I have to restart one of them, (because it just stop showing video, the camera is working but no picture). I called to Linksys/Cisco, spent many hours on the phone with them, they restored the cameras, they tried every setting possible, but nothing helped. If you google it, lots of people complaining about it, but no action from Linksys/Cisco side. Stay away from that camera if you are planning on using multiple units.

Pros: Solid, reliable, great firmware..

Cons: Can be daunting to configure and setup initially..

Other Thoughts: I have just ordered my 4th Linksys WebCam and love them. Initially challenging to setup, well worth the effort, forget any other security system..

Pros: Using this camera with Zoneminder 1.24.2 on Ubuntu.

Firmware is very stable and
Image is good for price point
Wireless works very well
Design doesn't draw attention to itself

Also, one other pro that most may not appreciate:
Manual lists ALL CGI commands. You any use this camera in virtually any software environment because the controls are transparent.

Cons: Doesn't work with standard Power over Ethernet splitters

Some rotate or flip options in the firmware might be nice

No reboot option in firmware. Would be convenient for remote administration. Workaround is to reinstall firmware (no, you won't lose your settings)

Other Thoughts: WOW. There's a lot of misinformation floating around on these reviews.

You don't necessarily need Internet Explorer to hear sound. Type:

into 'VLC Media Player: Media -> Open Network Stream'. It will play the MPEG4 stream with sound. MJPEG stream doesn't carry sound. This stream may also work on Windows Media Player, but I run Linux, so I didn't bother checking. Try it for yourself, or download VLC.

TZO is unnecessary. Go to www.dyndns.com or freedns.afraid.org and set up an account. Paying for Dynamic DNS went the way of the Dodo years ago.

You don't need a Linksys router for this, but a decent one helps. I use an Asus RT-N16 running Tomato USB. IMHO, running any IP camera on wireless G is asking for trouble. Too much frame dropping.

Pros: I own 5 security camera's for 2 different homes which we alternately occupy. I have 2 Cisco/D-Link models and they are the only ones that work properly and are relatively easy to set up.
When they detect motion, they send an email with pictures, which is what you want.

Cons: It would be nice if you could adjust the viewer remotely.
