1 out of 5 eggsDifficult installation - May be going back.

Pros: Swivel mount. Black color.

Cons: Need computer to install and configure cam. Forget about your iPad. Trying to setup wifi is a real pain. Took an hour of effort to just get it to show up in the network. Email configuration does not work and does not work with mail server. lnstall on CD has non working link for remote management 'Purenetworks' software. Big fail. Stay away.

Other Thoughts: May need port forwarding or other nslookup ip address of mail server plugged in. There is a six page long thread on Linksys support forum on this issue. Havent had enough time to mess with it. PO it took two hours so far and not working yet.

5 out of 5 eggsQuality IP Cam

Pros: The camera works perfectly on my home network after I set up a static IP address. Lens clarity is acceptable but not like what I'm used to seeing with a digital camera, but for the price and considering the low light capability it's good enough. I like the fact that recordings can be started manually or by motion and sent to a Windows networking (Samba) location on the LAN. The cam is viewed through Java enabled browsers over a LAN or across the Internet if set up that way. Android needs a special application, easy to get from Google Play Store. Multiple cams can be viewed from the Windows application included with the camera or third party apps.

Cons: The Linksys setup software is clunky but they make it that way in an attempt to simplify a somewhat complicated product. The angle of view is not as wide as I'd like but if it were then subjects would appear smaller.

Other Thoughts: Setup is performed through an Ethernet port on the rear of the camera. After that the network cable is disconnected and the camera can be used anywhere there's a power source. I used an extension cord to power mine hidden on top of a kitchen cabinet.

2 out of 5 eggswireless did not work

Pros: cool-looking

Cons: narrow angle of view, extremely difficult setup.

Other Thoughts: I spent 3+ hours with Linksys customer support to get it to work. in the end , It only worked when wired, and Linksys deemed it defective, so I returned the camera to NewEgg. Even if it had worked, I would not give it a 5 star for the difficulty of setting it up and for the narrow angle of view - needs a wider lens for sure! One would have to have solid knowledge of networking to make this function (which I had read in other reviews). I give it two stars (instead of one) because of the effort Linksys made and for the refund I expect to get from NewEgg. thank you. good night and good luck.
