5 out of 5 eggsDecent

Pros: Inexpensive, mobile and web access.

Cons: I knew the quality wasn't going to be HD when i bought it but yeah you get what you pay for.

Other Thoughts: If you want something simple and just to do basic monitoring then this is for you. For those who dont know how to use the mobile viewing the app name is"IProSeCu" Port 80 and of course it'll help to have a static IP.

3 out of 5 eggsNot Bad-But

Pros: So everyone knows… these types of cameras are not SHARP. They always look out of focus. It is just the type of camera they are. You can make out who it is if they are within 10 feet or so but if you are looking to see something more that 15 feet away you will not be able to tell who it is. Or if you are looking a car 20feet way you will not be able to tell the make. 480 to 700 lines are just about the same… the $149.00 have a little more contrast to them.

For the price they are the best you can get and Aposonic has great support and they will be glad to help… that is a fact.

But if you are like me and want a sharp picture then you will need to go with an IP camera. Good IP cameras go for $300 to $600 but the picture you get is like watching your HD TV. Check-out youtube vivotek or youtube AXIS P3343.

One IP camera will do the work of 2 or 3 of the TV-Line cameras.

But if you are just looking to see someone at the front door or to look into the baby’s room then Aposonic is a

Cons: TV-Line Camera

Other Thoughts: None

4 out of 5 eggsIt's had it's ups and downs

Pros: The thing is great at recording. Runs for months without any maintenance and deletes the oldest files when spaces becomes tight. Motion detection works fairly well.

Cons: Has killed 2 HDDs in 2 years. Cannot reset the internet password if it is lost (at least not to my knowledge), and you have to use IE to browse the web interface.

Other Thoughts: Overall it's a good product for the price, but I'm thinking of having a dedicated windows machine to handle our surveillance needs.

4 out of 5 eggsNot bad for the price

Pros: I have set this up at a vacation property I have. It is a pretty good system with a lot of features for the $299 price. It was very easy to set up (excluding the physical installation of the cameras, which you will have with any system). Camera quality, both nightvison and daylight, is what you would expect for this price. Remote access works well on Windows 7. Crhome seems to work best, followed by Firefox, IE 9, and Safari. Be aware that you will need to install Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable for the non-IE browsers to work. Also, some extensions for non-IE browsers can cause problems.

Cons: The motion detection is VERY sensitive at night. Even at the lowest setting, any bug flying by will trigger it. Dawn and dusk light changes will also trigger a few events

Other Thoughts: I just wanted a system to monitor my vacation property and so far his system meets my needs so far.

5 out of 5 eggsUnbelievably good for the money

Pros: Easy to setup, easy to use.

Can be used standalone, or on a home network.

Reasonably good picture quality, whether light or dark. (the only time the
quality is poor is when looking out a window, it catches a lot of glare)

Many good features like motion detection, automatic night vision, internet/network viewing, etc...

Cons: Nothing considering the price... If you want better video quality, you're going to have to shell out $1000+.

Other Thoughts: This is an unbelievable product for the money, I can't believe it was only $300. Even at the regular price of $379, it's still completely worth it.

4 out of 5 eggsEasy to set up and has worked perfectly for months

Pros: Set up was painless. This is one of the Aposonic DVRs that has better firmware so programming and access to the DVR are quite easy. The hard drive is adequate and the cameras decent for small areas. Their 30ft spec is pretty accurate for clear ID but you can see movement much further. The cameras can be upgraded easily.

Cons: Not really a con... four cameras, the dvr and a monitor do require a powerstrip/surge protector/UPS with 6 outlets.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat DIY Setup

Pros: This set up very easily. The cameras work well, day or night. The cameras are trained on the outside of the building and we keep it well lit. It is small, compact and easy to conceal. It arrived two days after I ordered it.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I was getting called in several nights a week at my business by the alarm company. I decided to set this up and see what was going on. I got tired of running down in the middle of the night to check out the building. Second day this was installed I captured video of a transient using one of the sheds as a bedroom. Secured it so he couldn't get in and the alarms have quit going off.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat day vision, poor night vision

Pros: Easy to install (plug and play), Excellent day vision, Can make out images that are close by to the camera maybe by 150feet everything over 150ft is a bit more harder to make out.

Cons: Night vision is absolutely terrible when trying to view long distance images. This camera is only good at night viewing at 10-20 feet max.

Other Thoughts: I am currently looking for a much higher quality camera system. This system does not suit my needs but it might for you if you plan on using it for short distance recording.
