1 out of 5 eggsNot so good

Pros: Hmmm, not many pros with this camera. I find it hard to understand the raves for this camera. I suppose the daytime performance is OK, but otherwise, it's just bad. Wish I could return it, but I can't

Cons: Night time performance is horrible. The cheaper Aposonic is decent, but is a wide angle camera. In night-vision, this camera has a halo artifact that is distracting, but the picture is SO bad, it just a waste.

Other Thoughts: Look elsewhere, maybe the LTS varifocal.

5 out of 5 eggsAs good as it gets

Pros: The Aposonic A-CDBI02 Infrared Color Camera produces excellent quality video on the darkest of nights. I have several on my estate to capture day and night activity that I previously was not aware was happening. I have them set on motion activation so I have less video to review. The most useful are the cameras on the drive coming to my home. Other useful places have been my vehicle parking area and circle drive. I have a cameras on both the front and back entrances to my home. We feel much safer being able to look at the computer screen and know we have guest rather than waiting for them to ring the door bell.

Cons: None that I have found.

Other Thoughts: They are a bit pricey but you get what you pay for and these cameras do an excellent job monitoring our property day and night whether we are in town or out of town. Be sure you mount the cameras high so they are out of reach to individuals. We use the balcony, garage gables, and trees for ours.

4 out of 5 eggsGood affordable camera even for the home user

Pros: Pretty good toy. Very sensitive. Good focus. Low noise. Good to have for a home surveillance system.

Cons: Too bright light in the center of the image, shoots far enough for my needs. If the car that you're tracking is located in the center of the view, it will be overexposed. Has darker spots around the center. Doesn't have microphone that could be used as an additional signal channel as well as for the tracking of the noise around, especially if it's outside the visible area at night. That's why I have to keep a cheap $40 camera with the weird optics, terrible noise, especially at night, but very good sensitive microphone. This extra one occupies one more channel and uses one more cable. Very inconvenient. I'd rather buy one more if it has a microphone. So the company makes a mistake, it could sel more cameras even to me! :)

Other Thoughts: Could come with the cable, but not critical since my local F/El has these 50' BNC + Power cables for $13, good deal! I was also surprised that the power suply is more or less standard for all these Sony sensor based cameras - 12V 500mA. This particular one uses 100 mA only, pretty good.

4 out of 5 eggsclearer up close

Pros: There is no need to adjust the focus, easy set up, great price. If you only need to watch over a standard driveway (just big enough for two cars) this is what you want. It has a clear vivid colors during day, and can make out faces within a dozen feet. looks great, makes me feel a little better knowing that next time my car gets prowled i'll have it on dvr.

Cons: The leds are not directed like the $79
LTS LTCB246VMB10 I have both. The aposonic can blind it's self if you slide the top cover too far foward (the glare is from the massive ir led's) The wire is exposed as it comes out the back (easly cut) that is only a worry when you have prowlers as bold as mine. Plastic mount is a sorce of mild concern. Mine has held up to 30mph winds and not moved @ all. That is all that I can think of to gripe about with this camera.

Other Thoughts: I only gave it four out of five (80% or a B-) because the camera does not have the range that is boasted. overlooking that. This is a great simple camera! i have subjected it to freezing rain and sub freezing temps for weeks on end and it's performance has not changed at all. glare from the ir's and direct sunlight on the lens are the only annoyances. and thats why i feel that if you want a simple ready to go camera this is it. If you want more focused (flood light like) ir leds and dont mind the hassle of manual focus and zoom get the cheaper LTS. it looks better and hides the wires. but it will take more time and a friend with a cell phone to call back and forth with to get the settings right.

5 out of 5 eggsNice camera for its price!

Pros: The housing and mount are very solid. It comes in handy when I wanted to install them indoors and outdoors.

Image is clear with its 520 TVL. Night vision works pretty well at night and those LEDs really do their jobs. I can see clearly in pitch dark and the IR range is pretty far.

Also, the manufacturer's website offers demo views which helped me to determine the viewable angle and range of the camera.

Most important of all, it was an easy set-up & installation.

Cons: It’s really hard to write a review for any IR cameras under $150 without any negative comment.

In my opinion, price-wise this is a GREAT camera. The only thing I can really think of is the size & weight. Then again this camera has like 50+ IRs, so I guess it needs to be a little bulky.

Other Thoughts: For a camera that only cost $100, it provides me with clear image and easy installation. I have no complaints so far.
