3 out of 5 eggsGreat but come on.

Pros: Great system. Actually my second time buying an aposonic kit. Easy to setup and great quality cameras.

Cons: The reason for the 3 stars is you get 4 cameras and one power supply for 1 of those cameras. So you then need to go out and buy 3 more power supplies. I couldn't believe it.

1 out of 5 eggsPoor quality, Bad customer service

Pros: comes with thicker than normal BNC saimese cables

Cons: Poor quality. Intermittent video loss between channels. I've checked all the connections, and I've even switched cameras to channels that were properly working, and the trouble was isolated to the DVR. Only fix is a reboot, but in the 2 months its been running, I've had the cameras freeze, or lose signal every week. The user interface is hard to navigate, mostly symbols, and you're not sure where you are in the interface until you select the option.

Other Thoughts: Customer service tried to brush me off. They kept insisting it was the app that was causing video loss, but its not the app. I even called, and the representative said to email techsupport and request for an RMA. I've been waiting for nearly a week and I haven't recieved a reply. I've installed quite a bit of these systems, and unfortunately, Aposonic was the only brand that I've had such issues. I would'nt recommend buying this product, and customer service is horrible.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks well

Pros: easy set up. works perfect with my ipad. night vision is very good - even with no lights, tech help was very good,

Cons: wish one or two of the cables were 100 feet vs 66 feet

4 out of 5 eggsDecent System For The Money

Pros: Packed full of features. Decent resolution for home security.

Cons: Terrible menu, online viewing is limited.

Other Thoughts: Add a 25 dollar surveillance mic from am a zon (buy a M - RCA to F BNC connector). To setup motion easily, tune the motion sensitivity to 45 and get out of the menu, go back in and then select the grid where you choose the area you want to enable motion recording for. If you see red blocks, whatever is moving will set off the motion sensor. Every time you adjust, you have to exit menu and go back to the select motion area grid. Need help troubleshooting an issue, email me at mrgreenlungz at gmail.

5 out of 5 eggsgood system

Pros: Best option for the price from a good vendor.
Picture quality is good/average to my expectations but great for target price for level of quality.
Installed outside in snow temps and can handle the cold.
It will record about a month in high quality depending on how your motion recording settings are set up (I don't record 24/7, limited to motion +15 seconds after). 500gig HD is a great plus.
I used the network setup to mount/aim the cams with a laptop outside and it worked good with a 1-2second delay in motion.
It's really easy to use.

This vendor has a good customer service. They always answer and respond very quickly. I called them 3 times and was never put on hold and they even called me to clarify one of my install issues.

Cons: Night quality requires outdoor motion lights to see anything (not zero lux).

I have been unable to fine tune and limit the motion recording to only record when someone walks or drives by. It picks up snow and rain as motion. In somecases I have no idea what it's picking up at night but records a lot of black screens at night. So I have to review the data each day.

Other Thoughts: You cannot stop it from recording while you are setting it up or changing settings when its plugged in unless you change the record options.

I would hope to see this vendor expand their products with high resolution systems and enhance their user manuals so the are a viable option in the future.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Pro: The remote view on IE is almost simultaneous, virtually no lag. It also supports Firefox, which is a plus. It also supports iPhone Live View, no software installed needed!!! All I do is input the IP address on iPhone Sarari, and at the end add /iphone.html, and that’s it!!!

Cons: Cons: I thought if it supports Safari, probably it would also support Apple Mac. Unfortunately it doesn’t, but it is not really a big deal. For the price I pay for this DIY kit, I definitely got a bargain!
