5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Reasonably priced Varifocal camera. Good color and picture quality as well as build quality.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Power adapter is extra and this is a good replacement for the Vonnic VCB240S also sold at Newegg.

5 out of 5 eggs5 camers for over a year perfect

Pros: Best image for the money, mounting and repositioning while up high on a ladder was the only difficult time. Wire runs thru attic were dusty and had to be planned where to come down close to where the dvr was to be positioned.

Cons: up and down ladder to get the perfect view unless you have it programmed for your ipad, which I did on my last two installations

5 out of 5 eggsBest deal on a 550 line varifocal

Pros: Great night vision with no artifacts (as cameraguy said), and good daytime image (unlike Joe said)...

Varifocal is very good for getting the angle of view you need.

550 tv lines gives a good image, although I expected a bigger improvement over my 420 tv line cameras. But still better.

The Newegg sale made for a great price just over a month ago, so I'm buying another one now, currently with a 10 buck promo code. Even without the zoom feature, the image is hard to beat at this price.

Cons: Nothing bad to say for what I paid...

Other Thoughts: The last review said they couldn't figure out what power supply to get, but they're all standard 12v, and the current rating on the datasheet says 400 ma, although the Newegg "product information page" says 700 ma, which may be an older version. I believe the box...

Also, FAMBAQU had trouble with reflections from the mounting wall, which I think all cameras with bright LEDs will have, so not just this cam.

This is one prod info page link that actually leads to the company's web page for the unit, another reason why Newegg is the best.

If I had the cash, I'd replace most of my other cams with this one.

Oh, yeah. One hint: take out the plugs that cover the adjustment holes IN THE HOUSE before you take it outside to mount it, then after adjusting, and finishing everything else, put 'em back in.

1 out of 5 eggsNo power adapter

Pros: I don't know.

Cons: This is the first camera I have ordered out of 7 that did not come with a power adapter.

Other Thoughts: I have not been able to use this camera because I'm not an electrician and uncomfortable just plugging in whatever adapters I have on hand and seeing if it works or not. I'm equally unsure of what to order since all the 12V adapters have different amperage ratings. I called customer service for more info but the rep had a hard time even understanding what I meant by power adapter so I ended up hanging up. If anyone knows what adapter I can order to make this camera work, then please let me know. No adapter has been a huge inconvenience.

4 out of 5 eggsAposonic A-cdbiv07

Pros: Wow this is a big impressive looking camera
good night vision

Cons: The picture quality is good at night but at day time it was no better than a $39.00 camera similar to one i had purchased a couple of weeks before, it left me wanting a better camera for $79.00 i expected better

Other Thoughts: It looks great, good night vision, day time picture not so good, for $79.00 it really fell short of my expectations

3 out of 5 eggsPlacement Restrictions

Pros: Day time camera works great, clear picture with minor tuning.

Cons: Night time limited IR to approximately 20 feet. The 30 to 40 feet distance is obscured able to see some movement without definition.

Camera must be placed 12 to 16 inches from mounting surface to avoid IR reflection into the lenses. This camera comes with a six inch mounting arm that does not do the job. Moreover, further purchases are required to make this work in a side-wall installation.

Other Thoughts: The installation of this camera would be fine for a long distance, not close to walls at ether side. Mounting need to be behind the camera. However, the night IR is not reliable for the long distance.

It would work in the perfect conditions for the equipment. So if purchase do not expect flexibility in the locations that you may want to attached this product.

Pros: The only security camera that doesn't have artifacts in the dark. This camera is very clear at night.

Cons: Nothing yet

Other Thoughts: The picture is superior to other cameras of the same type...I love the picture quality.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks as intended

Pros: Works well. The Varifocal works well it let me adjust the focus and zoom to my satisfaction.

Cons: Not as wide angle as some of the other Aposonic cameras I've used. Aposonic A-CDBI03 comes to mind (however, this camera kind of produces a fish eye effect on video).

Other Thoughts: The camera works great. Would recommend this for usage at places like convenience store or any place where you need some finer details.

2 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: Looks to be of high quality, well made, visor is really nice. The bracket is also nice and well made and has a weather gasket installed. Great for the price as of this date.

Cons: This thing is the size of a small car. I never thought about it and there are no sizes in the listed specifications. There is no instruction.installation manual. No information on manufacturer or anything. The info included on the details page here is what is on the single small sheet of paper.

Other Thoughts: Mine is DOA, no video. The night LEDs work, come on and off with light and dark, but there is no video output.
