Pros: Clean image, very little "snow" at night, very even IR pattern unlike many others with hot white spot in the image center, great for seeing what's going on outside. 6mm lens gives a closer image than the more common 3.6mm lenses. Better for detail even though it restricts the field of view a little. Reads plates in daytime to 25 or maybe 30 feet.

Cons: It came used & scratched with a broken mount, but that's a Newegg con.
This isn't a small camera, so if you want something easily tucked away then this isn't the one for you. The good IR is still a weakness of this camera though. License plates are washed out even if they are close enough for a daytime read. Very narrow useful distance for facial details at night. Too far away = no detail (to be expected). Just right (25 feet or a bit less)= a little detail. Too close = glowing person. Gives a good picture of what's going on, but not a ton of help with identifying the person if you don't already recognize them from height, weight, clothes, hair, etc. I'm fussy though- almost all low end cameras are like this, most especially at night. I'm beginning to think that true day/night cameras (no IR) are the best way to go. My low-light B&W KT&C will image a plate easily at night and won't wash out facial detail even when a subject is facing the camera with a streetlight behind him.

Other Thoughts: Good for an IR camera if you really really need IR. You can get true day/night cameras in this price range though that don't need to depend on IR to see at night and don't wash out the detail you need for identification. If your area is extremely dark then this is a pretty good choice. IR lights can warn away thieves though, so if they see them you might not have to worry about getting a clear facial shot for the police if they take the time to examine your place. Maybe...

Pros: Good picture during the day, good picture at night, clear, has onboard camera settings that are adjustable. Waterproof!

Cons: Does not come with power supply. It's field of view is a little bit limited. If you want a wide angle view, do not buy this camera.

Other Thoughts: This is my first CCTV camera and this one is built very well except for the mount. The portion that is attached to the camera body, and where it connects to the swivel base is not very sturdy, and is secured with an allen screw. If you move it with your hand, it will rock back and forth. Will it fall off? No. BUT it should not be designed this way in my non-professional view.

I will buy another one of these, providing this one proves to be good quality internally. If that pans out over the near future, I will get another one.

Pros: This is my second one and they work great!
No voltage dropouts like some other cameras.
Very good color, even under low light.
Very good night vision.
Not too big and can fit in tight places.
Unlike others that claim to be waterproof, this one is!

Cons: Not really a con. In the picture, it looks more like a cream color but it's actually pretty bright white so it stands out a little more. In my case, it actually matches my trim better so no bigger here. Just thought I would mention it in case it was a big deal for others.

Other Thoughts: I wish I would have bought this one first. I spent a lot of time, money and stress dealing with other cameras and sellers in the past. Sending them back and forth for repair because they doen't do what they state. Paying for shipping and eventually a restocking fee which is another story. That is what I get for not using Newegg. This camera is simple and works flawlessly.

I am probably going to buy a few more. Night vision is great. I love watching the deer and other animals outside at night when it's pitch black out. You would be suprised what goes on at night when your asleep...

Pros: Works well unlike some of the other long range night vision cameras I have tried. Nice and simple right out of the box. Pretty good day and night vision. I have an area of about 80 foot deep I am trying to cover and the night vision lights it up nicely. The width was perfect too.

Cons: Very poorly packaged. Might have even been a refurbished unit but was sold as new. No seal on the box and box was missing a pad on top to prevent the camera from banging around during shipping. It even had skuffs that I couldn't wipe off so it was obviously knocked around.

Other Thoughts: Does what it says and is just the camera I needed for the job. I have had issues with some other camera makes and this one works flawlessly. I already have 16 cameras but I might get a few more of these to replace them...
