5 out of 5 eggsGreat support

Pros: Customer service at Aposonic was grreat. Responsive to my email, quick to fix the problem.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: When I received my kit, two of the cables were defective. However, when I contacted Aposonic, they immediately responded and immediately shipped two new cables to me, without delay or cost. I am very pleased with how they handled the problem.

3 out of 5 eggsCameras + DVR ok, but cables defective

Pros: The DVR and kit were easy to install and configure. I installed a 2TB drive, no problem. Configured the kit and connected 2 cameras without problem. The network configuration for the Mac and Android are not so easy. Still trying to get TapCMS (Android app) to work for remote viewing. The cameras are good quality and have great image.

Cons: Two of the four cables were defective, on delivery. Still coiled up and wrapped in cling film, they will not get signal from the cameras. I had to try several combinations of cables/cameras to ensure the cameras were all ok, but 50% of the cables were broken. Others have also commented that the cables are very sensitive to bends, but these had not even been unspooled and were already defective. All the cables had QC stickers - they didn't do the QC well it seems.

Other Thoughts: I have contacted the manufacturer for replacement cables so that I don't have to dismount the two installed cameras and return the entire kit. I wait for their response and will post follow up to see how responsive they are. If they send me replacements, I will adjust the rating to 4 or 5 stars, the kit is good, the cameras are good.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat product, excellent support

Pros: Quality made system at acceptable price! I bought 3 different systems to determine which should be installed to my new office. One of them is $40 cheaper than this kit, and the other one is more expensive. This one just stands out if comparing them side by side.

In terms of video quality, all 3 kits are not much of a difference considering they are not digital video system (though the cheaper kit indeed produced more video noises at night).

In terms of hardware, the DVR and cameras are all made out of solid metal, whereas the cheaply made plastic system from other 2. The included video cords are also thicker, so better shielded in my opinion.

I ran into a problem while setting up remote viewing. Calling their tech support line was a breeze. The call was answered immediately without wait time. The tech guy went over the detail with me patiently, and he even took one extra step to introduce some important features of this system during setup. That is the level of service I look for from a great company.

Cons: Nope

4 out of 5 eggsWorks fine once figured out

Pros: Easy to install, need to route cables.
Infrared excellent indoors for rooms.
Good value but as usual you get what you pay for.
Recorded video quality is decent.

Cons: You will need to port forward three ports for remote access/viewing so you'll need to know how to do that.
Interface is clunky and not intuitive. It will take awhile to figure out settings.
Goes to infrared setting in any less than bright light situation.
Throw away mouse they give you unless you like carpal tunnel.

Other Thoughts: Once set up was done I was able to remote access on phone and view events. It works as advertised.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Support

Pros: I bought the Aposonic DVR set based on great product support reviews. I ran into a snag doing my remote view setup and promptly called Aposonic. I reached tech support with no wait on the phone. Claude patiently worked on the phone with me for nearly 1.5 hours while I struggled with bad ethernet cables, internet drops etc. The system works flawlessly and Claude was amazingly patient and at no point did I ever feel rushed to get off the phone. That's the kind of support that makes a company great.

The 700 line cameras give a very clear image. I installed a 1tb internal drive that I also got from newegg and everything works great.

Cons: The only downside that I can bring is the manuals are not very clear in explaining how to do things especially to a non-technical person.

Other Thoughts: I would recommend this system to anyone that wants a quality cctv system but doesn't want to spend a fortune.

4 out of 5 eggsNice little product

Pros: Price. Good price for the higher quality 700 lines of resolution cameras. Small and compact.

Cons: Cables suck. Very flimsy. But what do you expect for a low price. 2 of the 4 cables didn't work after I installed them. Maybe I was too rough? I dunno. Luckily I had spare/better cables from a previous install I did, so I used those to replace the bad ones. Cost me extra in instaal time though. Just keep in mind you need to be careful with the cables. It seems all the 'inexpensive' DVR packages come with cheep cables.

Other Thoughts: I got this over the other ones because of the higher quality cameras. Well worth it. I put in my own 1 TB hard drive, and I was good to go. I'd really give it 3.5 stars because of the cables but it won't let me. Interface is cheezy, but no different from all the other inexpensive bundles. It does its job.
