1 out of 5 eggsworked great for 6 months...

Pros: Easy to install, cameras worked great, OS was easy to navigate

Cons: Constantly resets every 60 seconds and beeps loud. no longer records. Less than a year of ownership, Kguard wouldn't take it back. About to go on vacation and i thought about my garbage cameras that do nothing on my house, so I finally decided to review them.

Other Thoughts: DO NOT BUY. I got them on a great sale, but these are well known for the HD crashing in less than a year. If you're lucky and it's just the HD, a replacement is "only" 100 bucks... Don't get scammed like I did, but a better system

Pros: worked out of the box...simple to setup....Kview apps can be unpredictable at times... setup for viewing remote viewing outside your own wifi can be tricky

1 out of 5 eggsNo Customer Support

Pros: Inexpensive solution.

Cons: No customer support. While installing I noticed that one of the cameras was not manufactured correctly. I emailed customer support and got no response. I called 10 times and I only get an answering machine. Left a message and no response. Buy at your own risk, and hope nothing is wrong with your system.

4 out of 5 eggsKguard DVR 401 Bundle Review

Pros: Overall An Ok Item For The Price Depending On What You Paid , I got mine for $150 . The night vision is not real good . During the day the cameras work good outside. I notice sometimes the dvr does not record on all 4 ch. It will black out 1 ch sometimes. This could lead to problems down the road. Its hard to get the network up and running but I was able to call kguard customer service and was helped in a timely matter. The Kview App doesn not work unless you are in your home using your wi/fi . Using remote access can be tricky and seems to not work all the time . Setting up your router can be frustrating . The owners manual is on a DISK and not a paper booklet Can be a pain. One of my CH on my DVR is Snowy .

Cons: The camera mounts are not strong , When I tightened the plastic nut they give you for each camera one of them snapped . I ended up buying my own metal nuts rust free ones and used them worked a lot better,

Other Thoughts: Better hardware. A printed out user Manual would be nice.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks Well, Some Difficulties

Pros: So far the images are good and the night time vision is good enough on three of the views I need. Produce seems solid in terms of quality cameras, wiring and main system.

Cons: Mounts are difficult and not great quality. I have one that is not locking at all. I have contacted support to see if I can get a new one. Wiring takes some time to layout and mount. Software is challenging to work with. Will take some time to figure it all out. One real issue is a lack of directions for working with the menus. That would have been very helpful.

Other Thoughts: Overall, I am impressed with the product. Aside from the lack of real directions dealing with the software menus, its a breeze to set up. Take your time in figuring out the areas you want to cover, run the lines, plug them in and you are up and running.

5 out of 5 eggsSimple 'Entry Level' Unit.

Pros: Ample cord lengths.
Easy to hook up.
Easy enough to figure out menus once you explore them all and try everything just to familiarize yourself with it.
Can watch on my iPod touch. (there's an app for that)
Camera has metal housing
Acceptable quality for the price.
Decent range in the daytime.

Cons: Not much range at night time but you can see 'eyeballs' just fine.
Kind of cheesy mouse.
Black remote you cant see the buttons in the dark. (everyone does it, I just don't know why!)
Wired cameras, means drilling holes in your wall.
Choppy video, not HD, but it serves its purpose.
Kind of cheesy camera mounts, but hey, their suppose to be small!
You can see a 'red dot' on them at night, that's a dead giveaway whereas the day time they are just overlooked!

Other Thoughts: I'm only using 3 of the 4 cameras right now but will add the last one after I figure out where I want it.
I had to explore a lot to feel comfortable, some of the menu items I would have thought have been in a different screen.
We have it on a separate input and can flip over to it anytime, I like that.
I've shopped with newegg for years and have always been pleased

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing for the price!

Pros: Inexpensive, great quality cameras, easy set up

Cons: none so far

Other Thoughts: Everything was boxed nicely, simple instructions, and the cameras were better quality than I imagined they would be. Night vision works extremely well, and setting everything up was a breeze. Hopefully I'll never actually need them, but it's a great deturrent and I have no doubt if someone breaks in, i'll have crystal clear footage of thier face.
