Pros: Worked ok when it worked - pain in the rear to get setup with linux as there isn't much support and the documentation is a bit sparse in areas.

Cons: Died after ~6 months - started acting flaky ~1 week ago, unplugged, waited a minute, plugged back in, and no lights / no communication... The serial interface still appears (basically the ftdi usb to serial chip in it is still working), but the plm controller is totally dead!
Should have listened to the other reviews, but the only remote & pc controlled fan controllers I found was the Insteon fanlinc, thus needed this to interface with it for PC control...
Returning to smart home, hopefully will get a warranty replacement.
